Spoiler: The Plot 

The year is 1970.

The event known as the First Wizarding War was a major conflict with foundations as early as the 1940s, but officially beginning in 1970 and ending abruptly in 1981. It marked the original "reign" of the Dark Lord Voldemort.

The Dark Lord's rebellion occurred with the help of his Death Eaters, Dark wizards and witches who served him and brought terror to both Muggle and magical innocents. They were opposed by the Ministry of Magic and the Order of the Phoenix, an organisation founded by Albus Dumbledore that would play a crucial role in both of Voldemort's defeats.

This story begins at the very height of the Wizarding War, where Voldemort's alliances are at their strongest and there is fear within every street. Muggles fear for their lives, but as do Wizards. Voldemort's army not only consists of Death Eaters, but also of Werewolves, and Giants.

The story will end at Voldemort's downfall, which is no doubt a well known story to us all.

In this roleplay, you are mainly given only one choice; whose side will you pick?

Join the Order of the Phoenix as one of the canon Harry Potter characters. Characters such as Sirius Black, Remus Lupin or even Albus Dumbledore himself. Or you could choose the opposing force and side with the Death Eaters, either as a canon or non-canon character. Or, if you are willing to go down that road, create your own character who finds himself in the middle of the Wizarding War instead of siding with either forces.

Mainly, this roleplay will be an open-world like roleplay in the world of Harry Potter (but not in Hogwarts, mind you) where dynamic events may occur, revolving around character development, but at the same time also driven by story. It does not, by any means, have to be all canon to the Harry Potter saga. In fact, I'd prefer it to be our own take on the Wizarding War. But feel free to throw in a few facts and whatnot.

#1: All RPA rules apply.
#2: I am the GM and my word is law.
#3: I may add more rules and alter rules if I please to do so.
#4: Muggle characters will not be accepted. Even though we might switch back and forth between the Wizarding world and the Muggle world, Muggle characters will not be a very interesting story to see, as they are absolutely defenseless.
#5: Be realistic with your character. A 16-year old can obviously not have mastered every single spell, for example.
#6: No godmodding etc
#7: No dictating damage done by spells, either.

Full Birth Name: Bellatrix Lestrange (nee Black)
Alias: Bella, though few would get away with calling her that.
Age: 20.
Gender: Female.
Side: Death Eaters.

Appearance: Her young face not yet marked by years of imprisonment, Bellatrix still maintains some innocent beauty, though her eyes and sombre expression betray some of the darkness within.

Personality: Self-control is something Bellatrix strives for, and for the most part, she is successful, putting forth a cold and calculating attitude. But the deeply emotional young woman cannot maintain the straight face always, and in moments when she becomes flustered, or angry, the spark of madness that will later overwhelm her shows through, leading her to act in erratic ways. What began as curiosity is quickly developing into an obsession with the dark arts, and adoration for her Dark Lord. Still very naive in some ways, and eager to please her new master there is little she will not do if commanded.

Spell Level: Advanced - though the girl shows great aptitude for magic (specializing in curses) her limited experience prevents her from having mastered it yet.

Side: Neutral

Appearance: Atti is very tall with a slim lithe body. His skin is very pale with no blemishes. He is rather proud of his looks, which honestly aren't that bad , handsome even. Just don't tell him that or you'll never hear the end of it.

Spell Level: Advanced - He's a deft hand with charms and seems to know almost all of them, however strange they may be.

Other: Atticus can be a troublemaker a the best of times. If he's not helping the order he's causing mischief throughut the wizarding world, usually quite majorly too.
