I'm a nonbinary linguist, polyglot, and writer originally from Pennsylvania, USA. I enjoy combining my interests of words and cultures to create new worlds and characters. I've been writing somewhat consistently for a bit over sixteen years and roleplaying for about twelve. Roleplaying, to me, is far easier than solo projects, as my motivation is less likely to waver when people are expecting responses from me. So, since I have no desire to stop this lifelong hobby, I'm looking for new partners, new worlds, new characters, and new roleplays.
If you've poked around the private in character threads, you might have noticed my name a lot. I always have several private roleplays active at a time. However, you can expect at least one reply from me every other week. Understand that things do come up though, and I may give out more or less than that occasionally. If something disrupts my schedule, I let my partners know through my blog.
I do suffer from OCD tendencies, which means I require a level of order in my threads. I do not roleplay through PM's with the exception of R-rated scenes, and I ask for consistency in our posts in the IC thread. Please do not take offense if I ask you to change something seemingly minor in a post; to me, it could be the difference between sanity and a panic attack. I appreciate your understanding.
If you're interested in roleplaying with me, reply to this thread or privately message me and we can pick up one of the plot ideas in this post, one of your ideas, or create something new together.
Now more than ever, throw your ideas at me so I can forget how this pandemic is effecting the world.
Spoiler: Guidelines
I have been on this site for many years now (almost a decade!), and I've been part of my fair share of roleplays that just didn't work out. Partners are incompatible, plots fall flat, or for whatever other reasons, sometimes roleplays just fail. I've put together some guidelines to prevent this from happening so often.
1. Literacy is a must. My OCD makes me a bit too strict on that. Obviously, I understand the occasional grammatical mistake or spelling oversight--they happen to every writer. I ask that my partners have a decent grasp of the English language. I've studied grammar extensively and worked as a writing tutor, so if you have any questions about grammar, I'd be delighted to help! If your posts are riddled with consistent mistakes that make it hard to understand what you want to say, a roleplay would be difficult to maintain.
2. Quality over quantity, but we still need content. My posts can range from three to eight paragraphs on average, though when I'm especially inspired or when there are multiple characters to a post, I can go beyond that. I will work with you between that range. I ask that our posts be no shorter than three paragraphs.
3. Let creativity flow. I don't want to think of all the good ideas. I try to make sure all of my posts have something to respond or react to, and I ask that you do the same. Let's talk OoC about goals, twists, and anything related to the roleplay. If I've ever written a post that you are having difficulty responding to, please let me know so we can work together and more efficiently continue our story.
4. Let's talk! Roleplaying is about meeting new artists and creating things together, so it's more fun if you can make some friends through it. I want to talk about things unrelated to our roleplay too. The best way to reach me is through Discord, but I also respond frequently to PMs.
5. Don't leave me hanging. It's understandable and valid when things get in the way of roleplays. Life has a funny way of happening, and muses die, and sometimes a roleplay just becomes more a chore than a fun activity. Please don't feel bad if this happens. But please do not just stop responding and expect me to take a hint. Be an adult. Communicate what is going on. I put far too much energy into each of my stories and characters to be comfortable with them spontaneously dying. If you leave our roleplay without communicating, I reserve the right to use our ideas with someone else.
Spoiler: Interests
Things I Like to Role-Play
These are my favorite genres and scenarios to write. In addition to the following, I'm open to any suggestions, so if you have any idea you've been itching to try, toss it my way!
Medieval Era
Fantasy
Adventure
Time Travel
Psychological
Slice of Life (not school)
Alternate Universes (see below)
Things I Do Not Like to Role-Play: These can all be trumped with a good plot and a little convincing.
Sci-Fi (unless I've helped make the world)
Outer Space (I have very little interest in it)
Robots/Mecha/Gundam/Sentient Machinery (absolutely no interest)
Plain Romance (romance is like oregano, tolerable as a spice, but eating it straight will cause me to vomit)
Fandoms I Can Role-Play:
Pokemon (all generations)
Fullmetal Alchemist
Avatar (LoA or LoK)
Harry Potter (up to Goblet of Fire)
Lord of the Rings / Dungeons & Dragons
Fire Emblem
Harvest Moon / Stardew Valley
Animal Crossing
Slime Rancher
Others (inquire)
Spoiler: Plot Ideas:
Here are the ideas I have so far:
* especially inclined to do
/ taken but not closed
Plot ideas that are taken but are not fully developed will be preceded by a slash. Once I am confident a plot will last with a particular person, it is removed from this thread. Do not be afraid to suggest taking a plot with a slash!
a) *** Eight years ago, a man committed some atrocity, and he has been regretting it since. One day, he finds out about a shady scientist, and knowing all other hope is lost he turns to his last resort: time travel. He starts his course for eight years back, but again things go horribly wrong, and he is taken eight hundred years into the past. Now in the medieval era, he quickly realizes his only hope at getting home is through the nursery rhyme known by one bitter young man.
I would play the medieval man. Modern man may be woman instead. Romantic or platonic.
b) *** White Spirit Albia is the watcher of the world. Her benevolence reaches all people, and across the lands people worship her kindness. Black Spirit Ater, however, is regarded as a demon, and he is despised and feared by the people. One man, a priest, is a bridge between the great spirits and the human world. Despite this, he seeks direction in life. He is a priest of Albia, and if anyone were to learn he spoke to Ater as well, he would be excommunicated and exiled. What happens when he meets someone who shows genuine love towards him, despite this tiring job? What happens when questions of a recent genocide threaten what he has tried to keep hidden? And when everyone finds out his secret, will his new friend be able to help him?
I would play the priest. Medieval setting in a fantasy world (maps available upon request). Priest's friend can be any gender or age. Romantic or platonic, romantic (different genders) preferred.
c) *** By chance, a pirate stumbles upon the abandoned island of Ransei, where a genocide occurred just five years prior. He is surprised to find a young boy still lives here, alone with his dog. The boy has been in solitude since his family's murder, and he is clueless about life outside of his island. Torn, the pirate knows he cannot leave the boy alone, but is he ready to become a father?
Originally set in the Pokemon (Conquest) world, but plain fantasy is doable. Can be a single pirate or a group. I would play the little boy. If Pokemon, knowledge creatures of highly recommended.
d) A princess has been trapped in the boring life of a royal since her birth. She does not want to be prim and proper; she would much rather be out exploring, and hunting down the magical door from her favorite fairy tale. This door is said to bring any who pass through it anywhere they want. When the princess suggests such an idea to her obedient servant, he immediately shuts her down, but he can be convinced. Little does she know, he has his own reasons for finding such a door.
I would play the servant. Princess can be prince, or other noble instead. Romantic or platonic. Door lore open to development, but originally based on Howl's Moving Castle.
e) There has only ever been one angel thrown out of heaven, until now. The young fallen believes it all to be a misunderstanding, and he is determined to get back to where he belongs. He hatches an idea in which he must team up with a demon and incite a war between angels and demons, in which he will be victorious for angelkind. But what happens when a real relationship develops between the angel and demon? What happens when they learn they are not who they believe they are? And what happens when this all goes terribly wrong?
I would play the angel. Angel and demon might have been switched at birth. Angelic and demonic lore would be discussed up front. Romantic (if different genders) or platonic.

/ Grima is coming, and Lucina and the rest of the Shepherds are giving their all to stopping the Fell Dragon and all his allies. As everyone knows, Lucina hails from the war-torn, Grimleal-lead future, but she and her allies weren't the only ones to return from the future. There were other children that sought refuge from their land, going back to a time where things were at peace. One man wishes to stop Grima, but he's declined to join the Shepherds. He works alongside a young woman with a gift: this assassin has visions of just who needs to be eliminated to stop Grima. Working together, the pair seeks to stop the dreaded future only one of them knows. But what happens when a fatal secret is exposed? Will the relationship and trust forged between them be their greatest strength or their most vulnerable weakness?Fire Emblem Awakening world. Knowledge of the game highly recommended. Romantic or platonic. I'd play the young woman. The man from the future's motives are flexible.
/ The Union has been the ruling force of the world since World War III, and no one would dare question her. She creates and raises all human life to serve her dutifully. No one complains about the system of the Union, of their education and indoctrination of her practices. After all, outside her walls lies the deserted wasteland of the nuclear war. So what happens when a pair of teenagers unravel the truths about this dystopia system? What can two teenagers do to stop the chaos?
Requires a lot of world building; only for serious long-term partners. Writing samples and consistent ooc absolutely required for this plot. PM for more details.
~ The setting is prepared, the genre set, the rating is assumed, but everything else is a mystery. In this type of role-play, very few details would be discussed before just jumping into it. Let the plot discover itself, and have a ton of fun playing along!
Inquiry welcome.
Open to listening to all other ideas!
How to Role-Play With Me: I am always up for a new game, and I rarely turn down an opportunity (which is a blessing as much as a curse), so I'd be happy to hear from you if you think we'd be a good match. I read every post on this thread and check my PMs regularly, so reach out to me in whatever fashion is easiest to you. I hope to hear from you soon!
(This post is to be updated regularly. Plot ideas will be added and removed as spots are filled.)

Reason: Rewording and refreshing
Hi Ashen, welcome back! I've actually just come back from a long hiatus myself, so that puts us in the same boat. I'm totally up for the first scenario under your plot ideas or a realistic fiction RP. I also like the idea of the no-prior-knowledge RP, so if you have any setting ideas for that, I'd love to hear them!
If you are still looking, feel free to browse through my thread to see if we might be compatible ^^ I think we could make something work but perhaps you think differently ^^
(I am not interested in doing something with werewolves or vampires though, as I think those are highly overused. I do like your middle aged shapeshifter idea though =3)
