Kayden smiled at Laurel and laughed softly when she smiled shyly back. Kayden stood when someone knocked on the door and she waited for them to open the door. Her grandmother brought in the tool bag saying something about how the boy was late and she stopped in her tracks. "And how come you haven't said hello to me yet," she put her hands on her hips like she was twenty again and she waited until Kayden came to give her a hug.

Jake waited outside for them to open the door, he could hear something happening inside like a meeting was going on, but he wasn't sure. He slicked back his black hair and whistled while he waited.

Schadde went to the door and opened it. "You must be Jake, come on in, we're currently having a family reunion." He couldn't imagine what it must have looked like to Jake as the view of both Schadde and Kayden in full clad armor with their weapons on their back and their helmets attacked to their hips.

Kayden was still hugging her grandma and trying not to cry when Schadde opened the door. She couldn't pull herself away, knowing that her grandma had been the only one that believed in her in the beginning. "You're still here you stubborn old woman." Kayden laughed as she finally pulled away. She turned to see the one they called Jake's standing in the doorway and she stopped, staring unintentionally at the man in front of her.

Jake had only seen the back of them, though the woman Guardians voice was nice. He politely introduced himself as Jake and looked around a bit for his tool belt when he realized that the Grandma had it. When Kayden turned around he felt his heart stop, and for a second he couldn't breathe.
