    Default Love Sucks

    Name: Ismene Kokinos ("Mene")

    Age: 2500 years ish

    Gender: Female

    Nationality: Greek

    Race: Vampire

    Appearance:

    Powers:
*Shadow walker - can disappear into the shadows, blending into the darkness in which she has to live
*Shape shifter - contrary to popular belief, not all Vampires turn into bats, Mene can transform into a raven
*Mythbreaker - because Mene is so old most of the normal methods of hurting a Vampire don't work on her, garlic is just a myth in the first place, but silver, holy water, crosses, just tingle. If she were chained in silver it might weaken her after a time. Sunlight burns her skin, but no more then a sunburn, though she still prefers night. A stake through the heart would still kill her.

Personality: Mene is quite, a watcher. After living thousands of years, there's not much more she has left to learn. Nearly everything is boring now that she's lived so long and there's not much reason left to live. She doesn't let anyone close. Keeping everyone she comes in contact at arms length if not further. The moment someone becomes too attached she leaves.

Skills: Linguist, Historian, swords woman, fighter

    Talents: Athletic, Limber, Quick,

Likes: New things, something to keep her interest

    Dislikes: Being unstimulated

    History:
Mene was born during the golden age of the Greeks. She wasn't well off, a slave in a nobleman's household. One night she awoke to screams filling the house, a raid she'd thought. She and the other slaves had tried to run, but it wasn't a raid. It was a feeding. Monsters sucking the entire household dry. No one got far. Each caught by one of the creatures with pointed teeth. She thought she was going to die. Instead she found herself being feed the blood of one of the creatures as he laughed. Then darkness.

When she woke up next, everything was overstimulating. The noises. The light. She could hear a heartbeat, but she couldn't feel her own. It took years for her to come to terms with her fate, with the hunger. And even more to find a way to overcome it. Well mostly overcome it. Over the next two and a half thousand years, Mene saw people come and go. Watched as the lived and died. The hardest was watching them love and knowing she'd never find that for herself. She refused to force someone into this life as she had. She also refused to love. For her life was forever, for the rest who weren't...what she was...life was so very fleeting.

    Default Silvermoon Academy

    Name: Scarlet Lancaster

    Age: 19

    Gender: Female

Dominion: Blood - After cutting her skin, she can manipulate her own blood, using it in various ways and able to solidify it into shapes, but only while she keeps in contact.

Personality: Scarlet is standoffish and slow to trust. Part of this comes from being part of a magical family. One that was known for secluding themselves from the rest of the world. If people take the time and the risk to get to know her, they'll find her to be fiercely loyal and protective of her friends. For those who don't know her, her abilities often put them off, scare them away and she encourages those fears. Full of distrustful gazes and warning looks.

Brief Bio: Scarlet was born to the Lancaster family. A magically strong family that has attended the Academy for generations. Those generations were long however. As a family of primarily water wizards, the family had perfected the ability of regeneration. This wasn't an easy thing to learn and was a family secret that they'd worked for. It didn't mean they were immortal or lived forever but it did extend their lifetimes. Scarlett's parents are around 150 years old.

As soon as she started showing her abilities, her parents started to train her in water use however, she didn't quite feel connected to them. Scarlet would spend hours in her family's library looking for different ways to use her water abilities and eventually found what she was being called toward. The little known and fewer followed branch of blood. It took all her abilities and expanded on them in ways she hadn't thought.

    Default Exiles

    Name: Wind-talker (real name Phaedre)
    Race: Parthian
    Gender: Female
    Age: 23

    Visage:

Phaedre stands at 5’ 2’’. Her thick red hair stands out against sun-kissed skin. Her hair has various woven beads and feathers within it and while at one point may have been well cared for, the ornaments are now chipped, missing, or faded. Her green eyes were at one point bright, but now sightless and unseeing, the curse of her gift. She is currently thin from her time as a slave, as she isn’t a working slave like the others at the oars. Her people are fighters though and her body shows the signs of having once been strong. On her face and arms, she wore her tattoos with pride. To her people they told of story of her rank, of her skills, of who she was. Who she once was.

Temperament: Phae is a fighter. Stubborn still, having not been long enough on the ship to have been properly “broken”. Sherakallesh would not have her reputation ruined by a poorly broken slave and Phae’s refusal to cooperate and behave more like a wild animal often got her in trouble. When she wasn't a slave, she'd been know for her wise decisions and often came to for wisdom. Whether this was due to her own natural abilities or her god given one, she wasn't sure. She also holds some resentment to the gods for taking away her sight and cursing her with this ability.

The following is optional to list openly, but must be submitted to the GMs in full for approval.

    Skills:
    Greater skills: “Wind-talking”, improved hearing
Lesser skills: Martial Arms (polearms), wilderness survival, evocation
Cultural skills: Religious ceremonies, Linguist, Weaving
    Faith: The AllMother
    Origin:
Phae wasn’t born as a gods-touched. She was born as any other child and was any other child. She learned the ways of her tribe, was taught to fight at a young age starting with the bow and stave and then progressing further as she aged. She was normal. However, it’s not until you are special that one realized how much you wish to go back to normal.

Within the Partian culture, there were many different tribes though they all had similar beliefs and customs. One such custom was the Rite of Adulthood. On their thirteenth birthday, all children were to meet with the tribe’s shaman to see where their strengths would place them in the tribe. Most would be warriors. Some would remain at home to care for the younglings and the camps. Even fewer still were gods-touched.

As part of the rite, children showed off their skills before the shaman, answered various questions, before finally being placed in a drug induced trance where the shaman would guide them to their future. It was during this Rite that Phae lost her sight as she was blessed by the gods and chosen. For Phae, it was a curse. She’d wanted nothing more than to be a warrior. Now she could barely do anything without assistance.

It took years for her to become even a little used to being unable to see, at first because she was resistant and denying the gods blessing. Choosing to reject what they’d given her. To ignore the abilities. It was only after she gave in, accepted what she was now, that she was able to learn ways to cope. To learn that even if she couldn’t see physically, she could still see. She learned to use a stave as a guide. To depend more on her hearing.

She was just beginning to find her place when Sherakallesh and her band of marauders raided their village. The warriors had gone and while those that stayed at the village were skilled fighters themselves, they were just too few. At first Phae was confused as to why she was taken, but that soon became obvious when the captain began demanding answers to questions that no one but a gods-touched could answer. Phae was however stubborn. She barely accept her abilities herself, there was little chance that she’d use them for the one who’d destroyed her world more than the gods had. The pirate was determined to break her and sell her to some Ikhten sorcerer for a tidy profit.

    Equipment:
    -Fishing line
-Snares - despite being close to animals, Jade will eat meat, giving thanks to the animal for it’s sacrifice in her nourishment.

    Gold: 50gp

    Personality
Quiet, kind, and shy as her natural relative the fawn, Jade would much rather be out in the forests than anywhere else. She feels closer to the creatures of nature than with any others. They understand her, whereas she feels those of society don’t. She hates to see any animal hurt and will go out of her way to save an animal when hurting or in danger, becoming like a fierce lioness protecting her young. However, most of the time she is like a scared fawn, she is slow to trust, but once the ice is broken she can be a fiercely loyal companion.

    History:
Jade was born in the wilds. The daughter of a faun and a dryad (wood nymph), she was raised by her father as dryads are notorious in their free lifestyles. More than likely Jade had several siblings of which she had no knowledge. Either way, her childhood with her father was a loving one and one that she wouldn’t trade for the world. He was doting making sure she had all she could wish for, while at the same time making sure that she appreciated what she was given as well as showing her exactly how to get it for herself. “I won’t be around forever Jade.”

Besides the occasional traveler, they were left to themselves in the great forest tending to the trees and the animals there, as was their duty. The quiet solitude was ruined one day as a black dragon came to their forest to claim it as it’s home, turning all that they knew and loved into a trepid swamp, stinking of rot and death. She and her father tried to save as many of the creatures as they could, but many were lost to the swamp and the dragon’s minions. Her father one of those lost, dead or captured she did not know. Jade is now searching for a way to save her home and her father if he still lives.

    Other
The path into town was a simple dirt road, however it was the scariest thing that Jade had ever faced to date and she’d calmed a raging bear. This was nothing by comparison. The poor bear had just had a splinter in it’s paw, but this she’d have to deal with people. People were scary. As the girl drew closer, she pulled up the hood of her cloak to hide her horns and furry ears. People didn’t like things that were different. It was best if she concealed her differences for the time being. Her pace slowed and soon ground to a halt as she stood on the outside the gates staring in.

She didn’t want to go through the gates. The thought was terrifying. It would be so busy. So many people, but she had to. For her father, for her home. She had to try and find help to heal the forest, before it was too late. Taking a deep breath the young faun moved into the town. Just as expected, the place was overwhelming. People yelling to each other, soldiers walking by, animal calls echoing in the air. Jade had to push herself not to go toward the animals, while they might have some information for her, as animals understood a great many things, however people might look at her strangely if she was talking to them.

She followed the crowds, seeing where’d they’d take her and not knowing where else to go. They lead to a marketplace where everything just got louder. Someone, one of the venders, shoved something in her face causing the girl to jump back with a squeak and scurry away to the center of the market where a fountain stood. She climbed up onto the edge and sat pulling her cloak tightly about her as she sat and shivered. How could she save her home, when she didn’t even know who to go to or where to go?

Default The Throne of the Gods II: Divine Deception

    Name: Mina and Merna

    Gender: Female

    Age: 1,200

    Appearance:

In their natural forms, Mina and Merna look alike except for their hair color. Mina has blonde hair, while Merna's is a fiery red. Other then than one difference they are identical in their looks. Both with blue eyes, both standing at 5'8'' with slender bodies and long legs.

    God/Goddess of: Love and Lust

    Faction: Balance

Powers: The twins powers are similar and yet balance each other. Mina as the goddess of love, has the ability to influence people into doing things, but all in the name of love. Whether this is the love of a person, the love of one's self, it doesn't matter. Merna as the goddess of lust is the opposite. While her power is still about influencing people, it is the influencing of people into doing things for her. Merna can understand the desires of a person and uses those to influence them. Both goddesses have the ability to change their appearance in order to better influence a person.

    Equipment: War fan

Personality: Mira is friendly, kind, and loving. She believes in the best in all people and uses this believe to influence them to really be the best that they can be. As the fact that she believes in everyone, she is also easily trusting. She's loyal to those she is close to and defends them to the end no matter what they do. Despite all the flaws she sees in her sister, she would die to protect her. Though it is unclear if Merna would feel the same way.

Merna is similar in a few ways to her sister. Outwardly she's friendly and kind, but where Mira does it out of compassion, Merna does it out of a combination of her desires and her self-interest. If she thinks she needs something from a person, she is not above using anything to get it. She loves to be the center of attention, where as her sister is more of a background player.

    Background:
In terms of the gods, Mina and Merna are young in comparison with the other gods. They weren't sure how they came to being. Perhaps through some forbidden liaison between gods. Mira always imagined it to be a romantic tale of their parents. Two gods falling in love. Merna imagined something a bit more involved, some kind of love triangle that resulted in one of the members killing the other two out of jealousy before taking their own life. Mira would just laugh and tell Merna that gods didn't play such petty games.

The twins were always together, because they balanced out the other. Merna with her with her spontaneity and crazy desires. Mina with her clam demeanor and compassionate nature. They'd never been separated for long since they were born. The only reason was for Merna's dalliances, of which Mina felt only disdain for. It was one such dalliance that caused the twins to be away when the war among the gods started. Some boy, a movie star or musician or something, that Merna had become obsessive over and when she was obsessive, she never let something go.

Default The Throne of the Gods II: Divine Deception

    Name: Maiara

    Gender: Female

    Age: 5,000

    Appearance:

Maiara is about five foot even and weighs around 110 pounds. She gives the appearance of being breakable as she looks so fragile. Her grey eyes hold the knowledge of years and years.

    God/Goddess of: Literature

    Faction: Balance

Powers: Maiara can summon characters and creatures for all written word to her aid. She does so by using the magical book she carries. It is believed that from it's pages came all written and from it's pages is where she draws her summons. With her infinite knowledge thanks to the written word, Maiara can pull the desired text to the open page. She then tears the page out, throwing it to the ground causes the page to come to life, forming the character or characters described with in the text.

    Equipment: Tome of Knowledge

Personality: Maiara is infinitely wise though the connection with her book. She embodies the phrase knowledge is power, as quite literally Knowledge is her power. She is generally a quiet person, comfortable with observing just as one would read a story. The goddess is creative as well, able to think of and find new answers to problems that would not be easily seen.

Background: Maiara was "born" at the creation of the first written word. It is said that the words (in this case pictographs) wiggled on the page itself rearranging to form the goddess who then stepped from the page. She is seen as a muse to many. Knowledge is her power. The knowledge itself is neutral, but whether it is used for good or for evil depends upon the one using the knowledge. She doesn't steer her worshipers in one direction or another, letting them make the true decision of how the knowledge is used on their own.

After her birth, Maiara choose to walk with the mortals. To her the gods were boring. Stuck in their ways and generally not creative, many believing they were perfect the way they are. The humans on the other hand, stuck in what they considered their boring lives only wished to escape from their realities. They strove to better themselves, strove to change, sometimes even tried to escape. The way they escaped was often through writing, or reading the writings of others. She fed that creatively when she could. Sometimes it went well, others it did not.

It was here in the mortal realm that she heard about the war among the gods. At first she figured it would rectify itself, but when it didn't seem to find a conclusion on it's own, Maiara decided it was time to venture back into the divine realms to see for herself what it was that was going on.
