RATED PG-13 for action/fantasy violence, mild depictions of occult practices and symbols, mild language, and possible sensuality/nudity.
Spoiler: PlotThroughout history, humankind has always found something to fear. From the mundane, instinctive fears of fire or the dark of night to the fear of death itself, these fears have manifested as stories of witches, vampires, zombies, and other creatures born of humanity's worst nightmares. More often than not, the more logical side of the human mind is more than happy to dismiss these stories as pure fiction meant to frighten small children, especially in modern times following the development of All Hallows' Eve - better known today as Halloween - into a widespread commercial holiday.
But that's not always true; these same creatures of the night are more real than most people would think. And yet, strange as it may seem, not all of them are as deserving of fear as one might expect. For every Count Dracula or Wolf-Man that terrorizes the world of men, there has occasionally been a good soul who seeks understanding rather than fear, but is doomed nonetheless to be shunned and feared (if not outright hated) by mankind.
That is about to change. This Halloween, the Draculas and Wolf-Men of the world are ready to finally reveal themselves to the world that never wanted them to be real, using mankind's own fears against them to in order to claim the night for themselves.
And by that same token, a handful of those few good souls will stand against them.
Some of them may want nothing more than to do the right thing, even if humanity may or may not accept or understand them afterwards.
Others may have somewhat less selfless motives, seeing this as their chance to finally gain the respect they crave.
Still others may have motives that fall somewhere in between.
Either way, Halloween may never be the same again.
Spoiler: RulesStandard rules include no godmoding, no powerplaying/autohitting, and no content above a PG-13 level. On that note, while not-so-kid-friendly creatures like vampires and demons are acceptable as characters, I ask that the R-rated factors associated with such creatures be ignored and/or downplayed as much as possible.
Some degree of literacy is expected. I won't go nagging you over every little mistake, but if nobody can understand a word you're saying, we've got a problem.
Be as active as possible. If you can't post for whatever reason, please let us know as soon as possible.
And last but not least, bear in mind that this RP is not meant to be taken too seriously. As such, characters should be planned accordingly.

Spoiler: CreepstersThe Creepsters are the main protagonists of this RP: a ragtag team of unlikely heroes brought together by the recent disappearance of the Ultra-Force and the subsequent spread of terror by the Legions of the Night. The only problem is that the Creepsters themselves are of the very same species as those responsible for this terror, making them no less shunned and feared than the Legions of the Night. But just the same, whether to stop the evil plans of the Legions or simply to gain the acceptance and respect of their human peers (or perhaps a little bit of both), the Creepsters must now work together to rescue the Ultra-Force before midnight on Halloween night, or the Legions' reign of terror will be unstoppable.
Spoiler: Shelby "Styx" Landis (Paradokz)Name: Shelby "Styx" Landis
Species: Witch
Age: 15
Alignment: Neutral
Faction: Creepsters
Powers: Elemental Blood Magic (Requires blood from the user.)

Weaknesses: Magic use is limited, PTSD
Appearance: Eyes turn red during magic use.
Personality: Outside of combat she's very serious, but while in combat she takes on a lighter personality, as if she enjoys combat.
Brief Backstory: Although born as a witch, she tried to ignore that fact and tried to lead a normal life, until a certain tragic event occured, she decided to fight the forces of evil, due to this, her magic skills are limited and she often has flashbacks of the event.
Spoiler: Lupa (Lady Celeste)Name: Lupa
Species: Werewolf (Born)
Age: 14
Alignment: Good
Faction: Creepsters
Powers: Being born a werewolf as opposed to having been bitten by one, Lupa is more easily able than most to shape-shift into her beast form at will, though doing so is still a very slow and difficult process and takes a great deal of energy on her part.
Weapons: N/A
Weaknesses: Highly allergic to silver; Cannot prevent or reverse transformation in the light of the full moon.
Spoiler: AppearanceHuman Form
Glowing eyes when angry or when "on the prowl"
Beast Form (CENTER, NO TATTOOS)
Personality: Being relatively unaccustomed to human society, Lupa lacks much of the social etiquette of a typical human girl, and can often come off as blunt or crude without realizing it. At heart, however, she is a very laid-back and fun-loving sort, and is constantly curious about human conveniences and behaviors that most humans might see as perfectly normal.
Brief Backstory: Born to a pack of "wild" werewolves living in the woods, Lupa knew very little about human society growing up, having been taught just enough for her to pass for human if need be, while still learning to appreciate what she was and the natural world around her. Most recently, a power struggle between the Alpha and Beta couples broke out that left the pack in disarray, forcing Lupa to leave her forest and seek refuge in the city. Whether or not any of the other pack members have followed suit is unknown, but she lived as a homeless wanderer for a time until she was eventually found by a recent recruit from a group calling themselves the Ultra-Force, who offered her a place to stay at the UF's headquarters, but had to keep her presence secret from the rest of his team as he knew they would not approve of their new houseguest.
As of now, this arrangement has cemented a solid friendship with the young man who'd offered her shelter, and has helped her to adjust better to the human world than might otherwise be expected from one of her kind. However, when it comes to "proper" human behavior, Lupa still has a lot to learn; there have been quite a few times recently when the UF would wake up to find their refrigerator ransacked or hear strange howls outside during a full moon.
Other Notes: Though not able to communicate with animals directly, Lupa has enough experience with animals to understand what a particular animal might be thinking or planning to do, as well as a solid working knowledge of the local flora and fauna of the forest.
Spoiler: Jinn (DizzyMaelstrom!)Name: Jinn
Species: Ghoul
Age: 15
Alignment: Good
Faction: Creepsters
Powers: Can shapeshift into his monster form and the forms of various people.
Weapons: Claws, teeth
Weaknesses: He doesn’t like using his ghoul form, so he rarely ever shifts completely, which may not be too good since human bodies tend to be frail in comparison.
Appearance:
Spoiler: Human form he uses mostLooks like this on a regular basis.
Spoiler: As much as he's willing to shift in front of othersHis full on ghoul form has never been seen before.
Personality: He’s not the most serious type and he tends to have a bit of a smart mouth. He also has a bad habit of describing people in terms of how good-tasting they look, swearing that it’s a compliment. He may be slightly insecure about his full-on ghoul form, because whenever he needs to use it, he asks whoever’s around him not to look.
Brief Backstory: He used to kill and eat people, however, after certain events played out, he eventually stopped and now only eats them if they’re already dead, which might sound bad, but it’s the only way he can survive without being too terrible. All he wants is love and acceptance… although he does think living people taste a lot better than what you’d find in a coffin.
Other Notes: He has dibs on anyone who’s killed in battle.
Spoiler: Shan-Yu "Shan" Drakkon (SlenDC)Name: Shan-Yu "Shan" Drakkon
Species: Demon - Born
Age: 19
Alignment: Dark Neutral
Faction: CREEPSTERS
Powers: Has supernatural Strength, Able to fly and move at very quick speeds due to wings, can detect other demons/monsters.
Weapons: Gauntlets are metallic and nearly indestructible.
Weaknesses: Typical Demonic Weaknesses
Spoiler: Demon Side HiddenSpoiler: Shan-Yu
Personality: Can be very manipulative if one is not cautious. Can be a bit heartless at times, especially when people anger him. Is typically a very laid-back and mellow kind of guy. Is mischievous at times. Likes to joke around a lot as he won't usually take other people very seriously. Is what some would describe as an unadulterated, hot tempered asshole. Rarely does things to help others though can be convinced. Despite what he says, Shan has a somewhat nicer side to him that only ever rarely appears within him. This nicer side however is often unnoticed by him and when it is, he will go right back into being the one nobody likes.
Spoiler: BackstoryShan-Yu was left by his father at a very young age, at doorstep to a human home. The humans who lived there would take him in and raise him as their own child. As Shan grew however, he began to notice things about himself that were otherworldly.
He developed wings, black markings began to appear all around himself, and he grew horns. He also found though, that he could hide these other parts, making them seem as though they weren't there at all.
He feared to ask his 'parents' about what was going on because 1, they'd probably think that he was talking about the dreaded "Birds and Bees", and 2, when they did eventually figure it out that they would reject him. So, he attempted to live a normal life.
It would be this way for a while until one day, Shan was bullied at school. It wasn't for any reason in particular it was just random bullying but it tested Shan's quick temper. This would cause Shan to punch the bully, sending him flying across a pretty long hallway. Though not feeling as sorry as he should have, Shan realized that what he did was wrong and immediately left from school.
He had sent the bully to the hospital, and was expelled from that school. His "Parents" were not happy with him and a lot of yelling went on. It saddened Shan, they didn't seem to understand him at all, so he left.
Not too long afterwards though, Shan was approached by a man who said that he could help him. Who said that he knew what Shan was going through and about his "Unusual Attributes". Without finding any other place to turn, he agreed to go along with the strange man. It turned out that the strange man, was indeed his father. He told Shan what he was and why he did the things that he did. Once finding out, Shan wasn't sure that he wanted to accept the fact that he was a demon.
It was around then that Shan was found by his "Parents". They apologized and tried to convince him to come home. His Father, told him that Demons belong within darkness and not among such lesser beings like humans.
Shan was at first very unsure of what to do. He was indeed a Demon, a supernatural creature that most humans feared and yet, his parents didn't seem to care about that, they seemed to love him anyway.
Despite all of the help that his father had given him, Shan decided that he wanted to rather be with his earthly parents. However, Shan's Father was none too pleased with his deciding to side against him. So, he killed the humans.
In a rage over his now lost parents, Shan fought and defeated his father, scaring him off. His father would vow that he would one day convince Shan to become a true demon and take to frightening humans but Shan didn't care.
After Shan's human 'parents' passed, something changed within him. Something Snapped. The kindness within him has faded. He is not the person that he was, no, that one is buried within him. He now really doesn't even care about other people as he feels that they would never last....or so he believes..
Other Notes: Is skilled in hand to hand combat.
Spoiler: Legions of the NightThe Legions of the Night are not really a faction per se. The one thing that unites them in any sense of the word is their shared desire for power; their "leader", Dominic Tepes, is rumored to have acquired a means for the creatures of the night to become powerful enough that they can finally come out of hiding and seize full control over the humans who fear them. Tepes has invited kindred spirits from all across the globe to help him realize this dream, and creatures of all sorts have flocked in droves to accept his invitation. United by this common goal, the Legions of the Night will not hesitate to destroy anything and anyone who stands in their way.
Spoiler: Dominic Tepes (Lady Celeste)Name: Dominic Tepes
Species: Vampire (Originally a Warlock)
Age: Unknown (hundreds of years old)
Alignment: Evil
Faction: Legions of the Night
Powers: Dominic no longer has the spell casting abilities he wielded as a warlock, but his innate affinity for magic has manifested as enhanced vampiric powers; the extent of this enhancement is unknown, but rumor has it that he can remotely hypnotize potential minions/victims within a certain range if he can identify them by name.
Weapons: Dominic is an expert swordsman and gunfighter, having had centuries of practice with both weapon types, but specializes primarily in the use of rapiers and handguns, respectively.
Weaknesses: Dominic is not foolish enough to tell anyone his weaknesses, but presumably standard vampire weaknesses apply.
Spoiler: Appearance
Personality: At his core, Dominic is a very practical and calculating man, meticulously planning every endeavor he undertakes while leaving nothing whatsoever to chance. Contrary to the popular supervillain stereotype, he is very fair and reasonable toward his underlings, and seldom carries out any truly severe punishments against them unless they deliberately cross him or hinder his plans; this is mostly for practical reasons, both to prevent any needless waste of manpower and to avoid creating the harsh conditions that all too often lead to rebellion and treachery. On the other hand, he shows no mercy to his enemies or to any perceived threat to his endeavors, occasionally even taking the time to torment them if circumstances permit.
Brief Backstory: To be revealed...
Other Notes: Much as he loathes the recent mortal fad called "Twilight" as a perceived insult to his kind, Dominic has sometimes taken to exploiting it by imitating the behavior of the character Edward Cullen in order to lure potential victims/minions to him in droves without having to conceal his vampiric nature. The one thing that he absolutely refuses to imitate is the sparkling, which he deems utterly ridiculous.
Spoiler: Ultra-ForceAs the first legally authorized superhero team in America, the Ultra-Force has made a name for itself as an elite peacekeeping force since its formation. In contrast to the Creepsters, the Ultra-Force are highly trained, well-funded, and almost universally loved and respected by the human populace. Under their protection, humans felt as though they had nothing to fear; needless to say, this did not sit well with the creatures of the night, many of whom relied on fear to maintain any semblance of power in the human world.
More recently, however, the Ultra-Force has gone missing virtually overnight, and foul play is suspected. Without their heroes to protect them, the local human population has come to know fear for the first time in years, this time compounded even further by a widespread fear of whatever evil had managed to overpower their beloved protectors.
Spoiler: Jack Duval/"Skyblade"Name: Jack Duval, a.k.a. Skyblade
Species: Metahuman
Age: 17
Alignment: Good
Faction: Ultra-Force
Powers: Though unable to fly in the literal sense, Jack's skeletal structure is sufficiently lightweight that he can leap and glide across long distances, and can also perform various acrobatic maneuvers with relative ease.
Weapons: Being technically still a trainee, Jack is not yet authorized to use weapons or engage in actual combat, but he does have a workable skill at knife throwing.
Weaknesses: Jack's powers are excellent for dodging attacks, but his relatively lightweight bone structure means that, when he does get hit, he takes more damage than most guys his age might.
Spoiler: Appearance
Personality: Despite being essentially a sidekick, Jack's small-town boy-next-door charm has earned him no shortage of fans and admirers in his short time thus far with the Ultra-Force. Though he is a team player at heart and has no problem with taking advice and following orders if he finds them reasonable enough, he possesses a strong moral compass and believes more in doing the right thing than in following orders; this coupled with his relative inexperience makes him more prone than most to make rookie mistakes or rash split-second decisions.
Brief Backstory: Unlike most other members of the Ultra-Force, whose superpowers (if any) came from freak accidents, lab experiments, or cybernetic enhancements, Jack was born with his powers. Naturally, he dreamed from a young age of one day joining the Ultra-Force, even doing occasional anonymous hero work as a teenager and learning parkour as a way to practice with his powers. After he turned 18, the Ultra-Force agreed to take him on as a new trainee, and got along quite well with each of them despite being much younger than them. After a while, however, he's nowadays started to grow tired of being practically just a sidekick, and is now eager (sometimes to the point of recklessness) to prove himself ready to take on more responsibility on the team.
More recently, however, Jack took pity on a young homeless girl named Lupa, who turned out to be a werewolf from the forest who'd fled to the city due to troubles within her pack. Knowing that a werewolf was unlikely to be welcomed with open arms at the local homeless shelter, Jack decided to offer Lupa a place to stay at the UF's headquarters, but could not bring himself to notify the team for fear that they might throw Lupa out, or worse.
And now, shortly before Halloween, Jack has gone missing along with the rest of the Ultra-Force.
Other Notes: Jack has a distant ancestor on his mother's side who, according to legend, survived being hanged during the Salem Witch Trials when her noose inexplicably broke. However, no public records exist that confirm or deny this.
