The year is 3016 and humanity has successfully become one with the stars. Humans have ascended and colonized the Moon, Mars, and almost every other planet in their Solar System. Each of the inhabited planets were flourishing and none even came close to being fully populated. Outposts had been established through the solar system for operations such as mining from the Asteroid belts, observing and studying anomalies in space and researching the countless amount of debris that drifted in from the deeper parts of space. One of these such stations, overseeing a mining operation just past the Mars colonies, has recently gone silent. One day they were talking, the next, gone.

“They’re still registered on the scanners but all communications have ceased. We think that it could be a blackout from a nearby Solar Storm, assuming that we miscalculated the size. Some are saying that the recent tensions regarding the political elections had reached a high and riots had broken out. That's your job, to find out what happened to them.”

"Your tasks are simple. Observe, document, report. Repeat after me: Observe, document, report. Good. You're a mixed bunch, so you should be able to overcome any issues faced. You're a structural engineer, I don't remember which specialisation you fell into, but I must have thought it was important, otherwise I wouldn't have chosen you. You, you're the head of networking at CISCORP, the biggest and most successful communications company left on Earth. You will all be given the necessary training before you depart, and that training will be tailored to each one of you, dependent on your abilities, strengths and weaknesses. You have been picked because I personally thought that you were the most suited to the task, though I had a glass of wine or two whilst I was looking through the documents, so we will see! Report to the front desk as a GROUP at 0600 tomorrow morning and the lovely Debbie will fill you in whilst I don't hide the fact that drinking my coffee will be the only thing on my agenda at the time. I don't have to tell you how much is resting on your shoulders with this. Get some rest, and, uh, try not to feel the pressure."

I have deliberately chosen to have a small introduction to this RP so that there is more of a free reign as to what can happen. Once all of the sign ups are in I will start the Roleplay at the front desk, and will play the part of Debbie, then jump into my own once the time is right.

Describe their eating patterns/diet: (What do they eat, how do they eat, how often, are they picky, high, low, or average metabolism)

Describe their daily rituals: (Do they brush their teeth at 5am precisely each day? Does something small being out of place ruin their whole day? That sort of thing. What is a "must do" for them?)

Long-term goals/desires in life: (What did they want to achieve, before they were chosen to go aboard the lost colony in space?)

How do they dress or what do they typically wear?: (Pink frilly dress? Blue suit and converse? You know what to do)

And finally,

Describe in no less than 2 paragraphs their personality: (Are they naturally angry, are they passive aggressive, are they a push over? What made them this way? Why did it make them the way that they are? You know..)

Take your time with the Sign up, there's no rush for it to be done. It is better for everyone to get it really detailed and finished in a week or two, rather than a slapdash job that barely answers the questions by the end of the day. You know?

I'll make a character soon. About the races, are there established alien species that coexist/fight with humans, or do we just make them up? Are humans racist/xenophobic against aliens? Could we add to the lore, per say?

We can make the lore up as we go along, create our own universe, as it were. I would say that there are certain species that don't necessarily like the Humans, and we will come across some along the way that despise them and will want to destroy them.

I would say that humans being humans, will be very racist towards most other species, yes.

One more question-- have humans left the Sol System? I'm thinking about having my alien dude be from out of this solar system (since most of the known planets in this solar system are pretty obviously uninhabited by humanoid sentient life at this point).

We can say that there are colonies outside of the main solar system. Some could have gone through a black hole centuries ago, or could have simply kept going instead of stopping at a planet nearby.
