Chapter 4- Where the Wild Roses Grow

Waking up to a rather serene scenario, of soft whispers of waves against sand, colorful shell fish lying about, they felt the sand burning under their bodies and their skin scorched. How long have they been lying about?

The magical energies of this place felt somewhat... comforting... yet terrifying...

The seagulls cries were heard above their heads as their treasured ship was carried back and forth on the water, most of it terribly damaged.

Some of the group were slowly emerging from the depths of the ship, climbing their way outside, or making holes in the wood to get out.

There were no sign of the other pirates and at the distance they saw lights, indicating a near village or city.

"Chanclera", the goblin Dreeg sniffed around, making faces and seemed somewhat disgust of something.

Tarrik was caught in a torrid dream, fighting for his life against the covetous hands of death. He struggled against the darkness drawing him in and taunting him with the relief of surrender. His demons chased him through the labyrinth of doubt clouding his head. Longing for the comfort of the few close to him, not sure if he would have the chance to see Shani again. Would he ever see his sister, Lillucia, again, and would she even know who he was? Did his parents even care if he was still alive? This was not going to be the end. He still had things to accomplish, to achieve, to avenge. This mission was not going to end here. The hope of what the future would hold gave him something to grasp as he pulled himself from the clutches of his despair. He was prepared to stare death in the face and spit in it's eye, manipulating it to his will as a necromancer was purposed.

He woke with a start and immediately started into a coughing fit. His lungs felt afire, his mouth parched from the sun exposure. As his senses came back to him, he felt the grainy, white sand under and around his hands. He had to blink the wind blown grime from his eyes before he was able to see anything beyond the white sands of the beach. He saw his companions on the voyage scattered about him on the beach as well. They didn't appear to be in any better shape than him. He attempted a deeper breath and found himself coughing again from the introduction of the salty humid air into his dry lungs. When he as able to breathe again, he carefully stood on his wobbly legs. The goblin Dregg confirmed, with an odd air of confidence, that they were on Chanclera. Looking into the distance, the lights were a beacon of hope.

Talia was making her way out of the ship, using her goblin to aid her. She followed the barks of Strahl as she pushed aside wooden pieces from her path.

At last she fell upon the edges of the shores, her legs still in the water, as her arms leaned on the sand and she coughed few times, taking in the fresh air. How did she longed for a safe land. The goblin was already beside her, pulling on her arms so that she could get out of the water. Her limbs were numb and she was barely able to crawl, but she still pushed on, feeling the weak sun rays at her back.

Once the task was done she lied on her back, inhaling the breeze. Then, as if suddenly remembering what had just happened she got up with a panicked expression upon her face. Looking from right to left she scanned to see where the others were, fearing the worse.

She soon found their bodies, and was happy to see that those that have yet to get up, seemed to still be breathing. She waved to Tarrik, who was also awake and on his legs, to help her gather everyone together.

Allysa Leana and Lawrance passed around the area. Even though they were on different parts the shores and didn't notice each other, they both have seen the sight of the broken ship.

Will They go and explore, see what all the destruction is about?

    Will they help the survivors?

"I have some interesting news for you"

King Loryan moved within his inner chambers, the only light available was the magic created by his spy, in which the sight of a broken ship and few people gathering their senses while joining together.

"So... it seems like they are here already", he smiled, "I need to be a good host and show them the way in, don't I?"

He heard a soft chuckle from within the magical reflection.

"But until I do, you must keep an eye on them... mainly on... you know who..."

I told you child there is nothing a mere peasant like yourself can do to aid someone of my stature and standing

"Is that so? Well then shove off you damned ghost and haunt some other poor sod!"

Normally someone casually observing the young necromancer Lawrance would assume he was either very imaginative, or just insane. Most tended toward the latter given his constantly tired and disheveled appearance it would normally be a safe bet. But those people didn't have to put up with the constant wailing of the dead or the unbridled narcissism of deceased nobles, both of which would have easily made a more sane human consider an early exit to life at times.

    HA perhaps I will!

"By all means, farewell you self important pompous fool, I already visited every damn noble you had contact with and have been threatened by more guards than even a known criminal in order to finish out your regrets. In fact I think you never actually had any meaning to your life and now you're just a worthless shell of yourself as you watch your family make the same bloody mistakes you made with no ability to warn them about the mistakes they are making."

    .... ... ... ...

"Yeah I thought so, now then."
Lawrance whirled around and smacked the spirit hard across the face with his staff.

"Since someone finally understands you, you should be able to freely leave right?"

Already the spirit was gone, Lawrance had a bit of a talent for that, and a few months ago he managed to figure out how to get a physical object to actually affect a strictly non physical creature, though he only ever managed it on his walking staff. Now he used it to give spirits a bit of a wake up slap, most of them needed it.

"Finally, bastard would never shut up about himself and his successes..."
Lawrance trailed off as something caught his eye, the shattered remains of a ship drifting to a nearby beach.

"Whelp, let's see if I have more work to do, or if anyone lived I guess that's important."

Lawrance, staff in hand made his way over to the wreckage.
Clearly a necromancer's work was never over, especially when they weren't the kind who actively avoided people.

Allysa Lenea walked over the beach, she was following a trail “Darn where is it” she said to herself and looked better around her, and noticed a ship, she grap’s won of her swords and walked over it.

”A goblin… and a ugly won to” she said a bit to loud for the goblin to hear her ”Well it seems you all need some help i think” she said while walking closer to them, with her sword still in her hand.

    Earlier that day

”Long live king Loryan” she heard some men yell and starting to drink, Allysa Lanea looked at them an took a sip of her beer, and looked at the letter in front of her ”Well let's take a look who i need to kill or deliver” and took a lagde sip of her beer and opent the letter.

”Well i need to keep an eye on somebody…” and looked at the little poster of the won she need to keep a eye on.

As others continued to wake to the discovery of their landing, Tarrik spotted a figure walking toward crew and his friends scattered about the beach. And worse, he caught the glint of a blade in her hand. Could she be one of the pirates? She had red hair in an unconventional styling. In no shape to fight, he considered casting to switch the playing field a bit. His caught something in her demeanor, she may be drunk as well. Confident as her walk was, unabashed of her presentation, there was an odd haze about it. Though, not many people go for a stroll down the beach with their pet sword, drunk or not.

"He--" Tarrik coughed again as the roughness of his throat caught him again when he tried to talk. He swallowed what he had and tried again. "Hello!" he mustered with as much strength as he could. "Can you help us? We were caught in a storm and by some miracle washed ashore." He watched carefully for her reaction as she took in his words. It would decide what he did next.

Tobias stirred as the sun's rays beaming down on the back of his neck as he laid sprawled out in half of the barrel he procured when the ship was still afloat. His over coat was understandably gone, making his shirt armor and knife as he tried get his bearings. Still being weary from waking up, Tobias lost his footing and fell into the cool ocean water below. It was a small shock to his body as he landed, fully waking him as the water washed over him.

The wizard flailed his way above the water to breathe again before pushing himself to the shore, coughing heavily as he did so.

Tobias had mostly regained his composure when he heard the goblin. "Chanclera!? How in the..." cough cough "...hells did we get to Chanclera? I thought we were going to Norgard?"

"Between the pirates and the storm, I'm surprised we got anywhere!", Talia said in anger, "But I'm so happy to be on dry land at least!"

She rubbed her belly, "And I'm not throwing up anymore touch wood".

She walked around the small part, "So… this is Chanclera? Are you sure Tobi? Have you been here before?"

She noticed Tarrik waving at someone and went for his direction to see who that person might be.

Allysa looked at Tarik, and put her Katana back on her back, the man looked innocent. "Is there where I need to help you" and she looked around and saw several people, and sighed "I will try to help you, I do not know how big your group is, but let's get them out of the water first "and she looked at the now so quiet water.

she looked at Tarik again, if these were the people the king was talking about, she was all right now, she smiled something friendly, which was quite strange he looked at her because she always looked very angry, she reached out to Tarik.

Lawrance had, it appeared, arrived second to the scene, already a strange individual, one with fairly stiff and deliberate movements and actions, though he thought all people were like that, kinda hard to tell the living from the dead in that sense, the dead don't really waste time, unlike the living, probably the one good thing about the dead.
Unsure of how to best approach the situation Lawrance called out as he made his way down the slopes of sand to the stranded former passengers.

"Oh there travelers, you look like you could use some aid, and a night at the inn"
It sounded a bit generic, it was, but one could never be to sure with stranded humans. At the least he could tell that they weren't dead, not yet at least.

To the stranded seagoing travelers Lawrance would would appear to just be a passer by, bedecked in a worn traveling coat of leather with an ample hood and simple attire fit for one who walks long and sleeps oft under the stars.
