Alright if I use point buy? I really don't like the randomness of rolling for ability scores.

EDIT: If I'm allowed to do that, already got a guy ready. Made him ages ago. Lizard-man (used dragonborn for the stats, as that's the closest to it. Sure, he could of been a dragonborn, but lizard-men are way cooler) Bard.

A template is something you can put on a character or monster to modify it. Like so:

Don't think that will be necessary. Every edition I know of has a point buy system incorporated into it, and I'm familiar enough with them, so no need to do that.

EDIT: Ah, 5e, that definitely has point buy. Well, I'll wait on you for the setting, but for now I've got a lizardmun bard, and can make whatever else depending on what the party lacks.

EDIT EDIT: Also, just look for them. You'll no doubt find them free somewhere, just be careful about it.

man, this would be fun to do, although I'm not sure I could make the time, and I don't have a mic. D&D's a great game though and I'd love to still try and hop in.

Part of me wants to be a gnome barbarian. The other, more rational part of me is telling me to pick a better suited race. I'm not sure which side to listen to.
