The rear attack on Windhelm went according to plan, the ashlanders were up and over the walls into the Grey Quarter, lead by Ali and Jenassa, followed by Caleb and a couple of Forsworn wereboars. They fought to the gates and quickly eliminated the soldiers, removing the planks holding said gates closed and allowing soldiers into the city from the harbour and then the front gates. Lucine and Timur lead the main force in. "Caleb, Ali you're with my father going straight up the middle past Candlehearth Hall, I'll lead Conclave troops and some of our knights through the market, cemetery and housing areas and attack the palace from the side" Lucine said as they crouched behind some hastily built barricades. Ali and Caleb nodded and gathered thier troops along with Timur, while Lucine collected her troops.

Outside in the main siege camp, Adra was sitting with Reila. "So why aren't you in there? I'm sure you'd do better inside with the vanguard instead of waiting for the main force to be-" Adra started to ask before something big and unexpected caught her attention. "By the Green Pact, what was that!" she shouted. "Main force move in now, our vanguard will need help!" she shouted at the remaining soldiers, grabbing her banner and raising it in the air before advancing, handing it off the a mage who was her designated vexillarius. She launched the charge, immediately upon seeing the carnage inside she dropped her bow and ran to the soldiers laying on the ground, among them were her father Timur Starseer, Caleb and Ali.

Lucine had witnessed what happened and walked over to Adra, fire and hatred filled her eyes, pure anger on her face. "Those bastards had oil and fertilizer in barrels here in the square, they blew it up. Ulfric will pay for this" she said, dropping her shield, grabbing her second scimitar and walking forwards with some Rangers, Ashlanders and Caleb's wereboars in tow. She left Adra, Reila and some battlemages to look after the now unconscious commanders. Adra nodded, she stood up and loosed arrows at the Stormcloak archers standing above the gate to the palace courtyard.

Swords, arrows, spells and two wereboars giving in to the beast blood were all that came for the elite Stormcloak guards in the palace courtyard. Lucine pushed the doors open, they were quickly closed and secured behind her as a Ranger and Ashlander walked in behind her, before rushing to fight the two elite guards Ulfric still had. "So Elisif the Traitor's pet werebitch made it through with some soldiers, unfortunately this is where you fail" Ulfric said. "Not today, Ulfric. I will end your life, for a unified Skyrim, and to avenge those you killed, not just when you took over, but the ones who died here today, in that explosion outside, my father being among them" Lucine growled. "I challenge you! no weapons or armour! Or magic, or werewolf transformations...or shouts!" she added, yelling for everyone in the room to hear. This caused the guards and Lucine's soldiers to stop fighting and watch, the Ashlander was wielding a hammer that Ulfric recognised. "So, Glamar is dead" Ulfric said. "Yes, he got to Markarth to late, we had already won so he tried to retake it and fell at the gates, the Orc warlord he had supporting him also fell, your alliance with Orsinium has failed" Lucine said, as she handed her swords to the Ranger, removing her armour but keeping the gambeson on that was under it. Ulfric removed his armour and stood in his noble clothes.

Ulfric threw the first punch, which Lucine deftly dodged, only to follow up with a kidney punch, taking Ulfric by surprise. The High King brought a leg around the back of Lucine's and swept her feet, causing her to fall back. He was on her quickly, punching towards her face. Lucine blocked a few punches but one or two got through. The wrestled, and punched and kicked at each other for a few more minutes, before Lucine finally wore Ulfric down, the Nord man was on his knees. "It is done, you have won" he said, coughing up a bit of blood. Lucine spat some blood from her mouth to the side and grabbed Ulfric's axes. "Those axes have long been...symbols of Windhelm..." Ulfric said. "And they shall remain as such, but your blood will be added to them, your death will be another notch in their hilts, so to speak" Lucine said. "May your soul find peace on Sovengard, Ulfric Stormcloak" Lucine said, beheading her defeated rival. She picked up the head and put it in a sack. She then left the Palace of Kings and went back to the center of the city to help the wounded.

    A few months later

Word had been recieved by the remaining Stormcloak soldiers that Ulfric had been defeated. With Dawnstar and Winterhold were still holding out due to the Bandit King's sieges, the remaining Holds changed hands, pretty peacefully, most of the people having become weary from the wars. The Stormcloak army and navy were the most hit by the news, with some soldiers and sailors simply dropping the Stormcloak banner and retiring, to either become farmers, or hunters, or fishermen or just spend their days existing in peace, for however long it would remain. Others simply switched banners and remained as hold guards, or became soldiers in Elisif's new army. There were, of course, the odd group that kept the title of Stormcloak soldiers, but these ones went into the mountains and forests, or joined the Bandit King, but all up it was decided that they wouldn't be a problem to anyone.

Swims-through-Ice and his crew brought their ship back into Solitude harbour, various people disembarked, mostly the crew of the ship, quickly followed by Amber Starseer, Camilla Redmont and the other people Elisif had taken with her. Elisif, though, had not disembarked the ship, a small rowboat had been launched so she could be brought back into the city quietly.

Inside the Blue Palace, temporary Jarl Salendrial was meeting with various members of the army, and advisors, including the Thanes of Solitude. "Jarl Elisif! You've returned" Thane Bryling said, excitedly. Salendrial removes the Jagged Crown, which had been brought back from Windhelm, and stepped from the throne, smiling. "The throne, and crown, are yours once more, Jarl Elisif, I hearby hand control of your kingdom back to you, and return to my duties as Thane of...are you alright m'lady?" Salendrial asked, stopping as Elisif looked a bit pale and in pain. "She was complaining of cramps as we brought her from the boat, Thane Salendrial" one of the guards said. "She's going into labour! Get her to her room now!" Salendrial yelled, placing the crown on the throne and getting various herbs, potions and clean pieces of linen cloth ready. Amber had come in at this time and joined in. Two experienced healers, one of which had actual firsthand experience in having children, and various other Restoration mages worked to see the High Queen through her first childbirth over the next few hours.

Time in Morrowind seemed to last forever for Elisif for several reasons. She had lost the companionship of the one she cared for most, she was worried about the war and worried about her children, and she wasn't allowed to do much for fear of revealing her location. It was a lonely and boring stay. Though, her knight Liam was ever happy to keep her company even though she was too heartbroken to accept advances from him. It was easy for him to see her heartbreak, and as much as he would hate to admit it, he would have to realize she would never want him like she did Wraith.

As the months progressed and her belly grew larger, thoughts of what would become of her children in the current state of affairs plagued her. The war was drawing to a close, with Ulfric dead, but she knew there would be loyalists of him for some time after most of the Stormcloak camps were destroyed. There would always be someone looking for revenge on her, she knew. Killing her children would be the easiest way to do this and it made her sick just thinking about it.

She had come to an agreement by the suggestion of Liam that she would adopt them out shortly after birth and claim they had both been stillborn. Homes for them had to be found separately and a hefty amount of money was paid to the families that Wraith had deemed trustworthy enough.

The way back was sickening for Elisif. The rocking of the boat made her feel ill and her body ached. It didn't seem to get better even when they docked and she was escorted back to the Palace of Solitude.
When she reached the top of the stairs and saw Salendrial, she knew what was happening. This was it. It was time. Immediately her eyes filled with tears as she clutched her stomach and was lead to her quarters. She wasn't ready for this. She didn't want them to leave. She sobbed not only from the pain that grew worse every moment, but for the moment she knew she would have to say goodbye.

Her vision blurred and people around her looked fuzzy and her hearing was dampening as well, only able to make out "push" and "breathe". She didn't only feel the pain, she became pain. It felt like it was all she knew or had ever known. It didn't end. It kept on and on, no matter how much she screamed, pushed, or breathed.

"Wraith!" She yelled, "Raven!" She repeated, correcting herself and hoping that others wouldn't catch that she said his real name.

"I need him here! I don't care! I need him here!" She forced out as sweat dripped from her brow and tears streamed down her flushed red cheeks. Suddenly she felt light and her vision seemed to tunnel out. The pain seemed to lessen but she wasn't sure why. It was almost like she was going to fall asleep during all of this. She was so tired...

"Wraith... Wraith..." she muttered in her delirium as she began to fall back. Was she... dying? She thought she saw the outline of Wraith leaning over her, but there was a light behind him that was so bright she couldn't tell.

The grip with which she clutched the blankets beneath her loosed and her breathing became shallow, almost non existent.
