Kuàng Jié is a sixteen year old Sophomore student at New Peaks Academy. He is a ten-year veteran of the Wuzuquan (Five Ancestors Fist) style of Kung Fu, and has achieved a 2nd-Duan ranking in the style. His current ranking is C1, though some argue he should be ranked higher. A recent transfer student from the city of Shantou in the Guangdong province of China, Kuàng Jié has quickly asserted himself as a force to be reckoned with in the Sophomore class. His schooling has been paid for by the city of Shantou, as a sort of token of good will. He speaks fluent Mandarin and Cantonese, as well as simple English.
His father is a politician and his mother a housewife, and he himself was one of several dozen students of a local Shaolin academy displaced by a fire at the school. Hearing of the prestigious New Peaks Academy through the internet, Kuàng Jié's father sent him and a few other chosen students to the world-famous school. As a means of compensating the students whose school had burned down, the city of Shantou has paid for their tuitions. Jié feels as though he is a wolf among sheep, though he tries to remain humble about it. However, there are moments where his sense of superiority show.
Power: Kinesthetic Hyper-Awareness
Kuàng Jié's body is no more or less resiliant than the bodies of his peers. However, his mind processes information about his body and its surroundings much more quickly than most. For example, most fighters will consider where to punch or dodge, if even for a split second. Even among highly-trained fighters, Kuàng Jié's ability to react to stimuli is astonishing. He is by no means invincible, however. While his speed is superb and his reaction time equally impressive, surprise attacks and unorthodox techniques can still render him as defenseless as a child. However, it is rare for the same tactic to work against him more than once.
