She sighed. "You weren't happy before either... you were going crazy, knowing that he was free and going unpunished for what he did to Tommy."

He bit his cheek. She was right, as much as he didn't like to admit it. At least now Dallas was dead. Julian slowly reached over and pulled the knives out of his head one by one. Some blood flowed out of the wounds, and Julian swallowed, putting the knives down. "...A fool's errand, huh," he murmured. Was that what he had been doing all these years? If that was true... Maybe teaching at the police academy wasn't such a great idea either.
When he repeated her words, her eyes widened. She remembered how excited Julian was to finally find what he wanted to do once they finished with this business with Dallas. "W-what I mean is that justice unresolved is a fool's errand. You can talk about justice all you want but if no one gets punished, then its a fool's errand." She said in an attempt to try and keep Julian somewhat sane at the moment.

He looked at her. ...Are you saying what I did to Dallas was justice?"
She looked at Dallas then at Julian. She took a deep breath and then nodded. "Yes. It is. He won't hurt anyone else. He killed his own family... he hurt our son and he ruined you mentally. He got what he deserved."

Julian bit his cheek. He wanted to believe her, but his heart couldn't agree. Justice would have been a prison sentence. This torture... it was excessive.
She chewed on her lip before kissing a clean spot on his cheek and standing up. "I'll start cleaning up. Then we will burn the boat and head back to shore."

He nodded slowly. He couldn't stop staring at Dallas. Everything he had done replayed in his head, and it made him so uncomfortable. He truly should be punished too. He glanced over at his phone, but didn't move. He knew Alicia was right. The kids needed him. Besides, if he turned himself in, there was a huge chance Alicia would be arrested as well. And then the kids would be orphans. He shook his head lightly. Alicia had been an amazing mother to them despite her past. He just had to learn to live with this. He hoped with all his heart that nobody would ever find a single clue of what they did. For if Rory would question him, he wasn't sure he could keep himself from breaking.
After taking a deep breath, he got up and started to help Alicia with the cleaning.
Alicia looked at Julian once he started to help her. She smiled at him as she started to pick up their weapons and cleaned them off with bleach before putting them in a separate bag. Then she looked at Dallas in the plastic sheets. She cut him free from the he chair and rolled him up. "Julian. Help me drag up on deck to toss him over."

He looked at her. "...We can't throw the plastic in the ocean," he murmured.
