Julian swallowed and nodded slowly. "...I understand, mister Starns. I do intend to teach about my investigation. If you look at the lesson plan, the classes are outlined to deal with her victims in the order I encountered them. I'll use those cases to teach the students a bigger picture about profiling, and how to go about investigating a serial killer. I don't see how I can do an entire course solely on the Phantom Assassin without relating it to the bigger picture, or the rest of the students' curriculum."

"We did read your lesson plan. But you see, people take your class to hear about the Phantom. You hardly mention her. When you do intend of teaching about her, you do so little. People have expectations. And you never fulfill them."

Julian's expression changed to a more stern one. "'Never' is a strong word, mister Starns," he said softly. "These expectations you mention, are they yours or the students'?"

[Sparkz]

"Both I would imagine. Students see that you are teaching a class so they come. It's no secret that your classes are always full. They come because they know who you are and what you've done. They want to hear all the nitty gritty of the case."

"Or they want to learn from someone with profound experience in the field. If they want nitty gritty details of gruesome murders they can go watch a movie."

[Sparkz]

"Everyone knows that Hollywood isn't real life. They want to see how you handled the case. How Detective Julian Haynes hunted down the assassin is got her to stop."

"I'll include the relevant details. You must understand that a whole course on one case is a big stretch, and the density of information that is actually educationally relevant will be awfully low."

"It will show the students how you ran the investigation when you compared it to how it was previously conducted by the other detectives."

"Which can be explained in a single lecture. Maybe two. Not a whole course."

[Sparkz]

"You really just don't want to talk about this case, do you?"
