He nodded. "Well, let's vow to do this more often, then."
She laughed and held up her pinky. "Pinky swear?"

He grinned and curled his pinky around hers. "Pinky swear."
"Good. Now let's head back."

A couple of weeks later, Tom rang the doorbell at his parents' house. He was holding Robin's hand, and flashed them a smile when he heard footsteps approaching inside. "They're going to love you, I promise," he said, nudging them. "And you them." Then Julian opened the door and grinned brightly at the both of them.
"Tom! Come on in!" he said, holding out his arms to hug his son. Tom smiled and hugged him with a soft sigh.
"Dad, I'd like you to meet Robin," he said as he pulled away. Julian smiled and looked at Robin, holding out his hand.
"Pleasure to finally meet you."
Robin looked at Tom nervously. "If you say so...' they murmured, squeezing his hand back. Once the door opened, Robin smiled and watched as the father and son embraced. Once they finished, Robin smiled and shook Julian's hand. "The pleasure is mine."
Alicia called from the living room. "Let them in! I want to see who Tom brought over!" She was in a wheelchair and would be as she recovered from the accident.

Tom smiled and led Robin inside. He poked his head into the door frame and grinned at his mother. "Hi mom! How are you feeling today?"
Alicia grinned and wheeled forward. Her arms were in casts but she was still able to wheel around in her chair. She reached up to hug him. "Well, been better but I'm doing good." She then grinned at Robin. "And it's a pleasure to finally meet you!" Robin blushed and nodded. "It's a honor to meet you too."

Tom looked at Robin. 'An honour?' he thought to himself. His mind made some quick jumps, wondering if they'd still say that if they knew who his mother was, then wondering if they did know, maybe they'd known all along, maybe they were a fan of the Phantom, or an undercover cop... but then Tom briefly closed his eyes and stopped himself. He'd been learning how to deal with keeping this secret, and he knew he just needed to stay in the moment. So he smiled at Robin. He was so glad they were willing to meet with his parents, especially after the things he'd said about his struggles with the both of them when they had just started dating. Robin truly was an amazing person.
Julian laid a hand on Tom's shoulder.
"I hope you two brought your appetite. Lily should be arriving any moment, and then we'll have dinner."
