"Depends if we are to be attacked or not by the darkness Melia, if all goes well only a small while longer. If we are to be attacked... we must hope we can fight it. It would be a shame to die so soon into this adventure of us" Salvador whispered to her as he was still enjoying himself as he was torturing her, making her more scared than she needed to be. He knew that this place was safe, that nothing would happen to them. THey needed to fear the rest of their journey. He stopped and gestured for her to be silent, ignoring her question. "You must be silent, these creatures can hear a single heartbeat." He whispered to her as he could not help but to keep smiling, this was just to funny... Especially because she looked like a man... a very scared man. "Keep silent until we have left this place" He said with a stern voice before he kept moving again. He gestured her to follow him, a bright smile across is face as he knew that some scared looking man was following him through a safe cavern passage.

The end of the tunnel came into view. Or best say, a few small beams of moonlight through some bushes. The closer they got to the exit, the more it became clear that this passage wasn't used for a very long time. Spiderwebs were everywhere, and in them the biggest, fattest, and most annoying of spiders. Salvador, the coward and pansy that he was let his horse go before him, letting it break those webs and scoop up those spiders so that he would be safe. "Almost there, after this we need to ride as fast as we can to create as much distance between ourselves and the castle as we can. We need to ride for at least a week." He whispered to her as his horse tried to shake of the big ass spiders that were clearly not happy with their webs being destroyed.

Attacked or not. Her stomach dropped to her feet. Attacked.Just after they left the chaos of the castle. He would bring her here!! To a place where she couldn't defend herself, he gave her nothing but a horse and some stupid hope in him. Nope. She needed something heavy and blunt pronto! Her breath caught in her throat when he suggested they could hear her heartbeat. She opened her mouth to query him when he told her to keep quiet. It was an order and she hated it but she feared what could be hiding in the shadows more.

The end of the tunnel eventually came into view. It had felt like hours had passed. Small slivers came into view and she finally dragged in a deep breath. Her heartbeat had been thundering in her ears. She was certain that they could have heard it. That the creatures of the shadows had been creeping closer and closer. Fear ran through her body like nothing else. That light was the beacon of the gods to her. Melia would have cantered it to her had it not been for the drapes of spiderwebs that covered her exit. A soft whine left her lips until she made sure she could see no visible spiders.

She was through the exit in seconds. "A week!" Her voice cracked as she spoke for the first time. She could already sense her horse giving up. A week of riding, screw that. Melia glanced behind her and couldn't see the castle, only the side of a cliff. "A...Are you sure?"

"Ofcourse I am sure!" He snapped at her "Who do you think I am, some idiot that does not know how many days ride there is between here and the border!" he snapped some more as he stood before the exit of the passage. He needed to push away the old door, and some branches that were hiding it from view. It was clear that this passage had not been used for decades.. something that Salvador hoped would aid them in dissapearing before someone was to look for them. "Asking me if I know.. idiot" He said beneath his breath as he pushed his full weight against the door, pushing hard as he can to open it. But it did not budge, it did not move a single inch for him. "As if.... pfft... like I dont know" he mumbled as he pushed harder and harder "DAMN FUCKING DOORR!!!" He roared over the top of his lungs as he clapped his hands together to make his staff apear again.

He was about to blast the door away, but was stopped by the happy looking golden retriever that was Vermin "SIR DONT!... they see, they hear, they know" the dog barked to his sire. Salvador snarled before he lowered his staff and made the thing dissapear again. "Melia, you weigh more than me. Open that door!" he told her, making it sound like an order. Now... .everyone was weighed more than the king, he was fragile, scary thin with his bones sticking out. But even Vermin knew that Salvador should not have said that.

The sudden snapping anger brought Melia back to the present. Her eyebrows knitted together as she was slowly flooded with a deep seated rage. This man was getting on her last nerve and they still had days to travel. She dropped herself from her horse and followed him as he yanked branches and cobwebs away fro the door. Melia crossed her arms over her chest, it was slightly amusing to watch him fail at opening the door. She chuckled softly as he got angry enough to summon his staff. So much for keeping a low profile. Vermin was the voice of reason, though it was still strange seeing the voice leave the dogs mouth. He was right as always, any such noise would have all attention on them.

Melia, you weigh more than me. She stopped in her tracks. Her gaze latching onto him. Even his worst angry glare could not match the look she gave him. Melia took two steps forward, her nose almost brushing Salvador. "Don't you dare speak to me that way." Her voice was deeper but she ignored that. Her eyes were terrifying. "I know you are my king...But right now, you are merely my companion...and I will not hesitate to make you eat your words...Understand?" She said bluntly before turning towards the door. Planting her feet, she rammed her shoulder against the door and it was open.

It took one try from Melia and they were outside. A final glare was gifted to Salvador before she ventured through the door. Regardless of what sat on the other side of the door, she would rather face a wild boar than deal with the tantrum that Salvador was about to throw.

Salvador was scared easily to be honest, but not by some girl like Melia. But when he saw that anger in her eyes, he knew he had gone to far... and he really needed to do a step back or she would have his head. He said nothing, of course he would not say sorry! But he surely was not going to tell her to keep her mouth shut... he was to scared to do that.

He silently watched her as she forced the door open in one single try. "see" he muttered so soft that she could barely hear it, but Vermin very clearly could. The dog kept his mouth shut as he went through the door first and barked happily when he saw that they were the only ones there. Salvador was second, leading his horse behind him so that Melia could follow him with her horse. "And now we ride, you will be sitting on a mans saddle now. I want you to be able to ride long and hard for the next couple of days. Just swing your leg over the horse and find the stirrup on the other side" He told her as he helped her getting on her horse, and finding that stirrup with her foot. "Your leg replaces the whip you normally used. Just make sure you ride behind of next to me. I'll lead the way alright?" He told her a bit more sternly as he got onto his own horse. He looked at her for a second and smiled "I made you look like a handsome enough male. it is a shame we can not test it out in an local bar." He said as he told his horse to go into an easy trot.

Her eyes slowly turned around to Salvador as Vermin ventured through the door. If looks could kill....Salvador would be burned to a crisp and a thousand feet under. Salvador was first to leave after Vermins bark of safety, Melia gripped her horses reins and led the animal through the exit. The startling moon light had Melia seeing stars, she blinked rapidly and held the bridge of her nose for a moment until she grew accustomed to the new light. Sitting on a mans saddle. She froze for a moment, not wanting to know how different a mans saddle could be. Melia accepted Salvador's help in getting up on the horse and found herself hovering over the edge of the saddle. Swing your leg around and find the other stirrup. Finally sat on the horse, Melia's cheeks turned a dark red. It felt odd...and awkward. Leg replaced the whip, she preferred not to use the whip so it was a nice change.

Melia didn't even pretend to be listening. She merely sorted herself on the horse, fixing the odd clothing that she had been forced to wear. When she could hear the smile in his voice, she glanced up. It was strange seeing a smile there. She raised an eyebrow at his words and snorted softly. "Shame we can't see me get more attention than you." Melia winked and kept up with Salvador, with Vermin twisting between them. Melia rubbed a hand over her chin, feeling the gentle stubble that now lay there. She thought of her older brother and how he made all the girls swoon at the local bar. "I bet I look just like Erick." She chuckled at the thought and glanced behind her at the way that they had came. Her smile slowly fading as smoke could vaguely be made out in the distance. She hoped they were all safe, she didn't want them to perish because of that bastards lies.

Salvador looked over his shoulder to make sure that Melia and Vermin were coming as well. His horse welcomed the easy troth in the moonlight, it was far better than just walking in that damn scary passage. Unknown to both they would have an uneventful ride tonight. Nobody was following them yet, and nobody suspected that something was going on. They were lucky, and for the first time in a very long time Luck was on Salvador his side.

Salvador eased down his horse until Melia was next to him so they could ride together. He pervered that with her, it somehow felt wrong to ride ahead of her. "I hope you are not frightened. I must say that you are being rather brave for now. I hope you will not disgrace me when things get a bit rough. I do not wish to rescue any damsles in distress" He told her as he kept his eyes to the horizon.

Melia felt something brush her leg as Salvador came closer to her horse. She let her gaze drift to him. She had been scared inside the cave passage but this was better. This was open air and fields as far as the eye could see. "I am fine." She told him sweetly and then raised an eyebrow before casting a glance over him. "I will say the same to you." She told him bluntly. "I hope you do not disgrace me when things get a bit rough." Her words meant to cut through him. Melia knew that he would use magic whenever something felt too tough to deal with himself. She had seen how sparks nearly left his staff when he couldn't get the door open.

She waited until her words had settled on his skin and then returned her gaze to forward. "Will it be the entire journey I have to look like this?" She asked as she could feel her nose itch from the moustache underneath it. Melia didn't like being a male, she didn't like not looking like herself. Surely they could have done something else other than this, she was about ready to throw a tantrum if Salvador responded....in a very Salvador'y' way!

Of course she was to complain about the way she looked already. He had spoiled her far to much in the small period of time they knew eachother. "yes, until we reached the North you will be looking like that. When we are there it will become more dangerous to use magic. So we will enter their country looking like ourselves. Best hope they dont mind to bring a fugitive king and his excort into the country. THey are not found of magic users, so best pray to your gods that they will help us. " Salvador told her as he couched a little before looking back at her. He could see how she was not used to that many facial hair. "Stop whining already, just.. life with it. Its not that bad. I used to sport a pretty good looking beard for a while" He told her proudly, leaving out that he wasn't able to grow a handsome full beard like his father did.

Melia bit her tongue as she attempted to swallow the words she wanted to spit at him. For the first time in the last 24 hours, she was looking forward to arriving in the North. He had cut his beard and worn different clothes but she was a complete different gender. She was a man to anyone who passed them by and she hated it. Escort. The word floated in the air around them like a bad smell as Melia felt that old familiar rage bubble in her stomach. "Escort..." She uttered again, giving him a chance to apologise or use another word. If he kept using the word escort...like a female who he just used as he saw fit...she'd throttle him and throw his body into the nearest swamp.

A perfectly plucked eyebrow was arched at the thought of him with a full beard. She snorted softly as a gentle reminder of a young Salvador with a scratchy useless beard floated before her eyes. Melia dropped her eyes to her horse and let her body relax more into riding as a man would. It was strangely more comfortable than the other way and she didn't fear slipping off the edge of the saddle. "I am sure they can see that by now." She said gesturing back to the lights that were dancing in the sky, the Lord of Light liked to put on a show. They could be seen from miles off so Melia was sure that news of them would be passed back to the North by the time they arrived.
