I have risen from the dead yet again, but on a new account. Old one was too cluttered and too cringey for me. I'm an old rper that has returned and is now learning all the new stuff. So excuse me if I seem a bit old fashioned. I see that it the site has died a little in the time that I have been gone (years, tbh) and quite a bit has changed. I may move on to another site, but for now I am comfortable with this one.
Seeing as this section has died a little, I'll just give this a try for a little and then maybe post it in a different section.
But BE WARNED, this does include mature content including foul language and gore....so much gore.

War.
Something that man had never conquered.
The Human Race realized too late.... that it really wasn't a race.
But we continued with the warfare of bombshells and artillery, more or less a race into the arms of death.
An age of super soldiers, a serum that acted as enhanced steroids, paired with neurochemicals and constant testing to create the ultimate death machines. They weren't human anymore. They weren't even super human. They were just an army of dead men replaced by science and sent to the slaughterhouse.
Fighting a war for peace and freedom.
Contradictory.
And little did the people know that this SSS (Super Soldier Serum) would take a bad turn. It mutated them beyond horrific means. They turned into human killing monsters, rather than enemy killing machines, because they couldn't tell the difference between friend and foe at complete mutation. And now the world lays in shambles with these beasts roaming and killing anything in sight.

Spoiler: Lore of the War 

The year 2042, World War IV. Resources were becoming scarce in certain regions and were being fought over. Trade was becoming tight and whole regions were trampled. The first super soldier was developed in Russia, who was secretly experimenting on humans. The UN and the Human Rights Association had dissolved as thing started going downhill. It was every man for themselves at this point. Eventually, the recipe for a super soldier was leaked and the AEAA got their hands on it too, manipulating their army ranks as well.
The Slaughter of Trondheim (Located in Norway) is what started this downfall of humanity. August 19th, 2044, Super Soldiers of the Northern Europe Union (NEU) (Russia + Norway + Sweden + Finland + Latvia + Estonia + Belarus + Poland + Germany + Ukraine + Kazakhstan) and the American-European and Asian Alliance (AEAA) (U.S.A + Canada + Japan + England + France + Italy + Spain + China + Turkey + Denmark) met at Trondheim, currently occupied by the NEU, as was the rest of Norway. The AEAA was attempting to hopefully break their naval defenses and win over Norway. It ended in a massacre of both sides. When the battle become heated, they released their super soldiers, and they started attacking their own soldiers upon release. They seemed to be in an uncontrollable rage, ignoring the commands and the prods of the stun sticks that officers carried to keep them in line. There were barely any survivors, and the super soldiers were now wild and untamed, mutated beyond belief now. It was like an epidemic that swept along the Nordic regions. These monsters stopped attacking each other and started going after easier prey. Soon they were trampling whole cities, and they had mutated so much that they couldn't be contained. Innocent soldiers and people alike were murdered. Europe had turned into what looked like raspberries in a blender. It spread to the Americas. People soon found out that if a Super soldier bled on any open wounds of yours, you'd mutate as well, but it was a long process. But it was too late now. Empires and Democracies fell, governments were ripped apart and cities destroyed.

Spoiler: How to Kill a Super Soldier 

Granted, it is difficult to kill these things. You can normally incapacitate them so they can't move, but they will die slowly that way. These Super Soldiers are normally just referred to as monsters as a whole, but they do come in different variations, due to the fact that some people received a different amount and different kinds of doses (Experimentation continued even after the first recipe was created). These variations do have different ways to kill them.

Spoiler: Common Enemy 

These guys are just people that received very little dose of the SSS but had still mutated. These are the more common enemies, but are still harder to kill due to their heightened senses and strength. These are easily killed when their brain is destroyed.

Spoiler: Bitch 

These are another common enemy, but a lot stronger and more annoying, hence the name. They are a Bitch to kill. Pun intended. Their original name was Witch but as time progressed, it soon evolved into Bitch. Easiest way to kill them is to make sure their head is a pulp, and their arms are cut off. Once they spot you they will flail like crazy.

Spoiler: Skin Walker 

Not to be confused with the Indian legend, these are probably a bit more terrifying. What looks to be a human turned inside out, is actually a bit harder to kill. Their 'heads' are obviously on their back, but these guys always face their target and try to devour them with their ribcage mouth. Its best not to face these guys alone because they are fast as well. Best way is to have two people, one as bait, the other the killer. Self explanatory.

Spoiler: Crawler 

Crawlers are harder to kill of course, because they are very fast. They have a thick skin too, so its hard to penetrate it to kill them. But their bones are weak, luckily. Break their bones to immobilize them, then go in for the kill.

Spoiler: Tank 

The hardest soldier to kill. These ones were used in the war as frontline soldiers who could take full clips of bullets to the chest. They could wipe out a full group of soldiers with a single blow. They're rare, but not many live to tell the tale of when they fought one. Super strength and tough skin makes them almost impossible to kill. No one knows how to kill them, word hasn't spread yet. Your best bet is to run.

Spoiler: Signs of Mutation 

If any of the monsters bleed on an open wound of yours, you're basically infected. Some monsters are smart and try to simply wound you and then bleed on you themselves. These are the signs of infection. Of course this process can take months or weeks, it depends on the amount ingested and the person.
Stage 1: Rashes and Welts, causing skin irritation. Slight yellow pigment to skin.
Stage 2: Veins are visible, and skin turns a deeper yellow. Blisters can form. Nausea, vomiting with possible blood, fatigue.
Stage 3: Cognitive Abilities are hindered. Forgetfulness, Fatigue, Sudden outbursts of violence as well as worsening conditions of Stage 3. Actions become more primal and animal-like.
Stage 4: Bulging skin and muscles. Aching of the bones and muscles, causing extreme and constant pain. Salivation and animal-like growling or groaning. Pulsating veins (visible). Often rendered immobile at this stage.
Stage 5: Full mutation.
Of course, these monsters are more active at night, so it is ideal to have a sturdy shelter to hold up. Lights are to be turned out before dark and noise must cease, to avoid detection. They are also more active when it rains, and during thunderstorms.

Spoiler: Prologue 

The year is 2053, nearly 10 years after the Slaughter of Trondheim and the start of the war. Some small communities have sprouted but not many survive for long. Supplies are scarce but with the mass production from the war, there are quite a bit of weapons and lots of room to create your own. Many people simply stay in small groups to avoid too much drama, but provide just enough safety. Every man for themselves though.
This appears in a time of steampunk-esque fashion and small machines, considering those are the materials that have survived the war, as well as the knowledge that survived.
Start Location: Inverness, Scotland. Its Early Fall, around September.

2. The 3 Strike System I use is quite simple. 3 strikes, you're kicked out of the rp (or in IC, you're killed off). This gives people some chances to correct their mistakes and forgive and forget, but disobey these rules, I will have a strike on your name.
3. Limit of 3 characters per person. Otherwise it gets crowded. You are ALLOWED to kill a character and then replace them with another. Just make sure to post a CS here in the OOC.
4. OOC talk will be allowed in the IC, but it will be kept at a minimum. ARGUMENTS are to be held in PMs, not on either of my threads please. Sort it out between yourselves.
5. QUESTIONS about the story or thread will be sent to me in PM!!!! Not here on the OOC, otherwise I can miss it easily. This way I can reply to you as quick as possible.
6. You don't HAVE to read the lore, but it is recommended. The lore is just there as background to give you more insight on the environment.
7. If you have read and understand these rules, at the bottom of your CS, please write: Ready! (In this format too, bright red, italicized)This way I know that people have actually read the rules and are committed to following them.

The staff advertise roleplays every week! You should totally submit this RP for it! It's called Roleplay of the Week. There are guidlines, but it's generally pretty easy. Then you can advertise is here and it has a chance of being chosen that week to be featured on the front page so other members can more easily see it!

It does require a banner though, so never fear! There is an RPotW banner shop, where one of our artists on the site will make you one so you can turn in your submission! You just give them a picture and they make it for you! Easy right?
