The way the angel's chest heaved only caused the wizard's eyes to be drawn to her perfectly-shaped breasts, though as he gazed at her... he noted that she seemed weak. Not weak on an absolute scale, for her power was quite overwhelming, weak in the sense that... she was visibly struggling with this new form, on a fundamental level. She lacked any of the grace that her kind were normally attributed with... no, it seemed more like she felt weak. As if... as if despite how powerful she was, she was nowhere near her full power.

He reached out to her, offering to steady her. It would involve touching that beautiful, bare skin of hers... but as a straight male, it was a burden he would simply have to bare. "If you're having trouble... adjusting," he said. "I can support you." She didn't look heavy at all, after all, so he could easily carry her if need be, though he doubted it would resort to that.

"The excitement comes from experiencing new things," he said. "Perhaps you'll see what I mean, in time. Duty is duty, of course, but there's no saying that you can't enjoy yourself along the way." He couldn't really think of a way to describe the excitement of an adventure to this exotic, naked creature. And he was rather distracted by her body to really try and think straight, regardless.

He chuckles somewhat as she spoke of helping and hurting. "There's an entire college of philosophy devoted to that," he remarked. "It's called Ethics. I could go on and on about the different approaches towards ethics, but... all we can really do, is try and help out as many people as we can while only bringing harm to those who truly deserve it in the process. Chasing off the wolves to protect the sheep, so to speak." He recalled something about wolves and sheep being a very popular analogy in the local culture, so hopefully that would help. "I suppose family and clan are important to the individual... but since I have neither in this land, I can approach this task from a less biased, ethical angle."

He didn't see why she so proudly displayed her naked body to him... was she so oblivious to the sort of thoughts that it made men think to see such a beauty on display? Perhaps there were many things that he would need to teach her about this world... but as he was the only one in the area currently, he was in no hurry to make her hide her body from him if she didn't want to.

"You're an angel," he stated the obvious. "As such, I suppose you have the ability to sense the wickedness in a man's spiritual aura. I suppose my spirit is far from perfect, but... if you would gaze at it, I think you'll find it's... more preferable to most any other wizard you'll find in this world." Indeed, his attentions were for the best, despite being what the locals referred to as a "gentile."

He gave a deep sigh at her final question. The spirit melding ritual... a topic he had danced around because... well... because it wasn't the sort of thing a man should normally be suggesting of a strange woman he just met, no matter how beautiful... or perhaps because she was so beautiful. "It's a... spirit melding ritual..." he said somewhat awkwardly. Being a bit more blunt and not thinking of a more polite way to say it, he simply said it. "The seed that creates new life among mortals has the strongest concentration of magical energy of any essence of anything in the material world... having some of it inside you would help you regain your power, and create a permanent spiritual bond..."

"So uh..." he said awkwardly as he scratched his head. "Yeah. You don't have to, it's just the first thing that came to mind..." It had come to mind in no small part due to the supernatural, angelic beauty that the naked woman in front of him made no effort to hide, of course.

    ---

The warlock listened as the Urukian woman spoke up. Spies... such a typical excuse to avoid getting one's hands dirty. He doubted she had any martial training to speak of... after all, in Uruk every man could lift a weapon and wield it with impressive skill, yet the women were hidden away from the world and sheltered. He didn't know much about her, but he figured she was like a spider... sitting in the middle of her web of intrigue, waiting to ensnare her victims.

He thought he had detected a reaction from the wizard from the Caliphate. Something about that man told him that he wasn't a typical Ishmaelite like the people of the Caliphate claimed... he lacked the accent, and though he didn't know the man's name... he struck him more as being a foreigner. A westerner, or perhaps a Syndroan. It made more sense for him to be from Damask than from the Caliphate.

Thinking of Damask... the trader from Damask seemed to be quite interested indeed in the presence of a Seraph. "A living Seraph..." he heard the man mumbling to himself. "He should be working for us..." Though the gender of the Seraph hadn't been revealed, the crusaders of Damask were of the impression that the powerful angels were male, while the weaker ones were female. Something the warlock knew for a fact to be untrue.

"I'll investigate the matter," the warlock said eventually. He had purposely kept his name hidden from the rest of this council... not even going so far as to use an alias. "But I won't be making any attempts on the Seraph itself." No, an angel of any kind was a rock to his scissors... while demons were incredibly effective at their given roles, angels were rather specialized in smiting evil outsiders in particular.

The emperor laughed. He did not transmitted this part however, as he was busy admiring the scenes. Humans were interesting beings. Put the unfamiliar before them and they relish in the desire to tame or absorb something which is new to them. Be it sexual or otherwise.

Amazing how it was easy to allure men's heart.

"You are all seem bent on not killing this angel... So be it", he told them all, "However, be mindful that you are tasked with a mission of making sure said angel will not remain unbound. Be it by the silence of the grave, or the comfort of thorny reins. Just make sure it will not interfere with my plan... Our plan..."

They all nodded in agreement. Everyone in the group of the six had their own reason for the diminish of Zion after all; Lydia, the Syndroa priestess, has been fed and been feeding others in turn, stories about the glorious days of her nation. Zion was just another piece in making the dream of her holy empire come true. Melurious obviously wished for the same thing, even if he had to work with Lydia to see this goal fulfilled. But it was only a matter of time before those two will be at each other throat; A thing the emperor looked forward the most, as he enjoyed seeing the human in strife.

Gal'Or, the beautiful 4th daughter of the noble house Shik'ma, a duchess from Uruk had much more urging matters to handle, but she enjoyed battles and blood. Rich people were the most interesting to tempt. Their heart is already harden, and only few ever showing compassion.

Damask was hardly involved in the conflict, but a trade bloomed in blood and iron, and any war meant more gold. A thing which Saradin knew so well.

It was easy to cause havoc in the heart of the warlock from Philistine... They never had land to begin with. Whatever they occupied after battles was not theirs to begin with. They sought war and destroyed, and often were evil ruler. A fact one tend to forget when the tide turns... But the current situation in Zion was enough to enable such hatred to grow... in fact, the warlock was the first of apprentices... as it was he who summoned the "Emperor" from the depths of hell.

    And Vincent soon followed.

" Vincent", said the emperor slowly, "I believe you have a gift for the warlock..."

    ***

Sham’aim had trouble understanding Albertus. If the effort to put his ideas was so hard on him, why would he put them forward at all? more over... he seems to be struggling with the words he used. What did he meant by the... seed?

Sham’aim, now more balanced on her feet, allowed herself to fall in his arms as she lifted her hands to his forehead. And like before when she emerged into this world, she synchronize her spirit with that of Albertus, diving deeper and deeper into his thoughts.

As she pushed into his mind, she echoed one command, "Please... explain..."

    ***

"A gift?", Vincent was puzzled and surprised. He didn't expect the warlock to be so bold about this right away. He needed to have his chance ready to seize the angel. The angel he took the time and effort to summon.

    "Of course Vincent... You know...".

Vincent swallowed as his hand rested on his shirt collar and he grabbed the area his new necklace had been hiding.

"Exactly Vincent", said the Emperor chuckling softly, "Our friend, the warlock had so gracefully offered to take the task upon himself... give him the thing that may aid him..."

Of course. The Sh'kina... The part of the angel that was removed from her as she was summoned. It will enable him to find her...

Vincent removed his necklace, but was rather unwilling as he did so, and he walked heavily as he gave it to the warlock.

Damn the Emperor; He might have forgiven him for his betrayal, but he sure wanted to make this a mocking show, a joke on his expense.

Of course, no one will know how did Vincent got this piece... Not everyone were familiar with angelic knowledge and body parts, but it was certainly suspicious to those who knew, but even then, they would doubt it was this was coming from the recent angel summoning. No one suspected Vincent to be this powerful.

But it was highly for the warlock to catch on. After all, nothing escaped him...

Still, forcing Vincent to hand him the necklace was the same as the emperor taking the angel away from Vincent and handing her over to the warlock.

    Curses!

Any chances of finding her were reduced to almost nothing...

"You are all dismiss. I may summon you later for more recent battle plans, once we know of the situation, my noble lady of Uruk, I would still require your spies in Zion, if you can?"

    "Yes", she said almost immediately.

    "Good, now go".

As everyone were about to leave a voice Echoed, "Vincent, you wait here... I have a job for you...", said the emperor once there was no one in the room.

A bathhouse. A very steamy surrounding filled with hot fog and aroma of half burnt candles. The floor was overflowing with water that was splashed out from the small pool, as echoes of gasping and moaning filled the air, echoing in this carefully barricade chamber, preventing any unwanted guest from entering or peeking.

There were two hot spots, rays heat , moving against each other, enjoying a test of flesh as the water encourages their steady and fast movements.

Sham’aim was feeling it all so powerfully, through his eyes. She was Albertus now. He moved, and she moved with him, inside of him. Through his eyes, she saw the expression of the maiden face that was sliding around him.

She was beautiful, and soft. As he moved his hands around her, she could feel her skin along with him.

The woman cried in pleasure and Albertus cried back. They were both were gasping and relentless and Sham’aim was able to feel it all.

It was then that Sham’aim awoke. For the first time in her life, she felt... weirdly warmth. It was nothing like the heat of the never-ending light of her realm, but nevertheless, it was not... unpleasing... but yet...

She felt like she bitten into something she was probably was not ready yet. And for the first since coming here, she realized she was naked.... and for the first time... she felt embarrassed.

She looked at Albertus with her eyes open, wondering if this was his suggestion to her when he meant putting inside her, his own seed, "Did you mean... this action...?", she heaved, her cheeks burning red, trying to digest the new info she saw in his mind.

"So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew that they were naked", Gensis 3:6-7

Watching the exchange between the archfiend and this... Vincent character, it was clear to the warlock that the Emperor as he called himself knew quite a bit more about this whole situation than he immediately let on. Quite curious... and interesting. While he knew that the Emperor was not, in fact, Ashmedai, but rather one of Ashemdai's rivals... in his rivalry with Ashmedai, it was clear that he placed enough value in the Phillistine's soul in order to hold some form of... competition, against his rival. After all, the Archdevils of Inferno were in every bit as much of a power struggle with each other as the six members of the council... perhaps even more so, in fact.

As Vincent was singled out, the warlock was immediately curious. A gift, was it? Intrigued, he noted as the conjurer came over and gave him... a necklace. Glancing at it, he immediately knew what it was and where it had come from. "So it was you..." he whispered in a tone too low to be heard by any of the others. Smirking knowingly, he gave a bow to the Emperor and made his way back through his own portal in order to begin planning.

    ---

As the beautiful angelic beauty only seemed more confused, Albertus gave a sigh. This was bound to be a rather... difficult conversation. However, it seemed like a conversation might not necessarily be necessary, he noted the way she moved her hands to his forehead. He began to feel a familiar sensation from his experience in the University... Psychomancy, also known as Telepathy.

While he knew any number of ways to counter intrusive psychomancy, to do so would mean he would have to explain this whole thing the hard way. So instead, he focused on a thought... a scene which would answer all of Sham'aim's confusion. He imagined a rather hot and steamy example, so of course a hot springs resort from the Imperial City was involved. Whether or not this was an actual memory or merely something he dreamed up for the angel's benefit... well, that was a secret.

Gazing at the angel as she reacted to the scene, he noted the way her naked body was unable to hide her reaction. Her nipples now erect, the distinctive gleam of moisture on her thighs... revealed that she had, indeed, gotten a rather clear image. "Um..." he said awkwardly. "Yeah. It's not... unpleasant... but not the sort of thing I could merely command you to do. He slowly reached out to see how she'd react, lowering his hand in order to touch her soft, smooth skin. "Did you... like the idea? It's one of the things that's... special about the material world."

    The Feeling Begins
(By Peter Gabriel from the album "Passion: The Last Temptation of Christ")

She felt at last part of a form, of a body. She could now understand the small shivering as they were building within her along with waves of excitement. Now her hair, lacking the aura that made it float and shine, cascaded down behind her back and in between the line of her wings.

She now realized he was holding her. But it felt softer... with much more confidence... He was... stroking... petting gently.

His eyes locked on hers, as if to deceive, to hide away the fact that he was slowly caressing her form.

Why would he do it? Why would he need to knead her skin and move his fingers around her?

Nevertheless, she did not outright rejected him, or objected to his touch.

It felt... it felt nice... It was new, alien, different... but still pleasant...

She return his gaze, her lips parting and as if by cue, he was growing bolder. Now his hands moved in between her thigh, and she felt a strange sensation of warmth and heat... turbulent movements, like raging waters in unknown land.

The sounds of drums... The sound of beating hearts... Like stepping forward into a war, or hunting...

She wanted to let him explore her body like uncharted land and she swallowed hard as she let small soft moans escape her lips.

But then all at once came rushing knocking at the door.

    "Lord Albertus".

She gasped as she tore herself from him, going back to resting her hands on the table, and bending, as the weight of her wings returned to be a bother. She breathed heavily, as if waking from a trance, trying to explain to her mind what was going on.

    The knocking increased.

"My lord, is everything alright there?"

"We brought change of clothes for you, and you also have a guest from the ministry waiting downstairs", said another voice behind the door, "Please hurry and change, m'lord"

The mage half expected the angel to shy away from his caress, or even to strike him down for daring to lay his hands on her unmarred body. However, as his hand touched the soft, smooth skin of the Seraph... she gave him no resistance. Slowly, his touch became a caress, exploring her body. Her soft hair... her wings. He noted in particular how sensitive her wings seemed to be to the touch... though they gave her power, regions of a body with high concentrations of magical power also tended to be quite sensitive.

He gazed at her, admiring the flawless form, his hands exploring more of her as she seemed to accept him. Her breasts... so soft. Even between her legs... warmth. Her body was most definitely responding to his touch at this point, he realized. "Sham’aim..." he murmured her name, wanting to know more about her... to get more closely acquainted to this impossible beautiful, alien being.

As she began to let out sounds of pleasure to express the way she enjoyed his touch... the most inopportune thing happened at the absolute worst time. It wasn't just the fact that someone rudely decided to interrupt them by knocking on the door... but also the way it caused the angel to tear herself away from him. Albertus growled at the intrusion... couldn't they have come a bit later?

"Fine," he responded eventually, a bit more harshly than he had intended. "Just... leave the clothes by the door. I'll be down when I'm ready." Sighing, he returned his attention to the angel, taking her hand and pulling her back towards him, closer. "Let's continue where we left off... soon, Sham’aim. For now..."

He stroked her wings and pulled her closer in his arms, pressing his lips against hers and giving her a kiss, intensifying it as he held her, sliding his tongue over her lips, between, to stroke her own. A sliver of spiritual energy transferred between them as a result of this act... not nearly so much as he had intended when he softened up her body with his caress, but enough, at least, to give her enough energy to stand and walk, hopefully.

"Come downstairs with me, would you?" he asked the angel, gazing at her body. "Cover yourself as well... I'd prefer to be the only one to see your beautiful body." He reached out to some soft robes... just long enough to reach down to her thighs, if worn properly... before handing them to the Seraph. As he didn't exactly carry women's clothes or undergarments with him, the robes alone would have to suffice for the time being.

He was the first to get dressed and leave the room. As the door closed behind him she heard his voice, filled with anger as he spoke to his lackeys. Something about giving him space and private time when the door is locked.

Still holding the robe she spotted a big mirror and walked for its direction. While wrapping herself (as much as she could with her wings), she couldn't understand his request for to be covered. There was something in his voice when he asked for it. A hint of jealousy of some sort.

Never the less, he was the one to be in charge of her and she did as was told, with a little hint of wanting to please him as well. The robe was soft, and it was filled with Albertus's aroma, but even this was not as nearly as nice as having him touch her, or the way he made her feel when he whispered her name. He also slide his power into her with his lips, but she could tell there was some additional gesture there…

She felt her cheeks burning and looking at the mirror she noticed that they have turned in the shade of red. What a peculiar feeling…

Regardless, whatever he did with his lips sure revitalize her and she found the task of standing and walking much easier to be done.

    ***

Voices came from the living room as she descended down the stairs, her wings moving with her as she walked down.

There were few servants who looked at her in disbelief but said nothing out of politeness. She noticed an elder looking man sitting on a large comfortable sofa, while Albertus was standing before him and not far from him stood a rather handsome man with long flowing blond hair.

    And wings.

Sham’aim gasped and as the young man turned around and locked eyes with her, he soon was in awe as well, "Royal holy lady!", he said at once and he bowed before her.

Asking for explanation from everyone, who were puzzled at the gesture just as much as hers, she soon looked at the young angel before her and slowly recalled his name was "Habel"…

But she remembered nothing aside of it.

"What is this, Albertus?", asked the old man, who was known as Elishama, Minister of the High Magical defense.

"Please, my lord", said the Angel, not moving from his bowing position, "Show some more respect to her", he pleaded.

    "Who is she, Hebal?"

"Lady Sham’aim. According to the legends she is one of the oldest angels to be created, maybe one of the firsts. She is rumored to have been formed around the second day of genesis, from the purest of lights. She is very powerful, and is associated with angels of elements, but unlike most of them, I believe she controls at least 4. She also has realm control… In short she is no ordinary ministering angel…"

Both Albertus and Elishama exchanged gazed.

"Please, Habel, raise up!", Sham’aim said slowly and the angel did as was told, standing and gazing at her.

"My lady, you are… tainted…", he seemed rather worried and sad, "Your aura is lacking…".

"And so is my memory, Habel…", she said slowly.

"And yet, you remembered my name, I am honored".

"How can you tell she is tainted?", Asked Elishama, unable to tear his eyes away from the beautiful female before him.

"She has lost much of her holy form… It means that the original summoner didn't want to use her for good causes… Maybe he even wanted to absorb her into himself…"

" I've heard of this method of summoning, after all creatures of any realms can be turned into magical fuel and enhance the powers of a mage. Is that what you wanted to do Albertus?", Elishama gave him a suspicious gaze, wondering how he was able to summon her and for what cause.

"You have it all wrong, human. I believe Adon Albertus tried to summon something, but end up interrupting another summoner instead. I was brought here with not much of memories or power…"

"If that is the case, then there is someone out there who brings forth powerful creatures in order to use them. But since all of our ministers and high mages are monitored I fear it may be an enemy force at work", Said Elishama as he sank into the large sofa.

A maid came right then, pouring tea and putting some cookies on the tray. She soon left the room.

"My lady, I fear for your safety", said Habel.

"I respect Adon Albertus, I believe he has the purest of thought on helping", Sham’aim said.

"Pfff", Elishama chuckled, as he winked at Albertus. Looking at Sham'aim the last thing any normal person will have is the "purest of thoughts".
"You need to train her to conceal her wings… Also, what do you plan to do with her? There will most likely be people coming for her now".

On his way out the door, Albertus said something... perhaps harsher than he intended to the servant, as he was rather upset that she had picked such an inopportune time to intrude upon them. "Just... be more mindful in the future..." he said, cooling himself off. "I'll let you off this one time..." He knew that servants had a difficult job and that yelling at them only made it harder on them... but the timing couldn't have been any worse.

Heading downstairs, Albertus noted the identity of his guests. Elishama, a high ranking minister of the Levi clan, and... an angel, whose identity he did not know. The war wizard wasn't surprised to see a high ranking official in the company of an angel... after all, it was somewhat of a symbol of status among the archmagi of Zion to have their own personal aide in the form of a celestial superbeing.

"Minister Elishama..." the Imperial war wizard said, "To what do I owe this pleasure?" The guest being such a high ranking mage, it was no surprise that the servant had been so... intrusive. Still... couldn't they have come... a little bit later?

"Habel here informed me of a certain... situation," the minister replied. "Ah, and there she is right now." The eyes of everyone in the building were immediately drawn to the majesty of the angel as she descended down to the ground floor. Albertus immediately noted that the robe didn't conceal all that much after all, as her perfectly shaped legs peeked out from underneath.

He listened to the exchange between Habel and Sham’aim, noting the reverence with which the male addressed her. Albertus could tell that Sham’aim was incredibly powerful, so most of what she said didn't surprise him, and yet... "Tainted?" he asked. "That... doesn't sound so good." Was there any way to purify this taint, or would it require her to be summoned again from scratch? To summon a completely untainted incarnation of Sham’aim seemed... beyond his current abilities, but aside from that.

He listened as the Seraph defended him, rather surprised that she had already come to trust him this much. Elishama seemed obviously skeptical of the whole situation, and truthfully it seemed to be a rather... shady situation, in general. Still... Albertus made his way over to Sham’aim's side, reaching out to gently touch the feathers of her wings.

"Thanks," he whispered to her, before turning to address the minister. "It's true that my primary desire is to protect Sham’aim and work with her to, in turn, protect your country. The Emperor values our alliance, but in order to preserve our mutually beneficial arrangement, it's necessary to prevent your many enemies from destroying this land you call Zion."

"I'm rather expecting someone to come for her," he said with a shrug. "I was going to help restore her power to the point where she can take care of herself just fine against all but the most destructive of Archfiends, but I got... interrupted." The servant who had barged in blushed visibly at this comment and hid her face from the others.

"But I'll be lending my own strength to her protection. In order to do so... I'll need access to whatever knowledge your tribe has collected in regards to how to defeat an angel. On the surface, it seems like they are the most powerful of Outsiders, with many immunities and no obvious weaknesses..." His gaze lingered on the Seraph in admiration of her power. "But even gods have their weaknesses."

In the Empire, there were rumors of an infamous Godslayer who was known to slay deities who stepped out of line, using special techniques that severed the connection between deities and their worshippers in order to weaken the deity to the point where s/he could be killed. The people of Zion, along with angels like Habel seemed to worship a singular, all-powerful creator deity whose name was never spoken for fear of blasphemy, but if this deity even existed... well, Albertus had seen no evidence that this deity cared for the fate of mortals. The Empire used the term Overgod to refer to such an entity... whose power exceeded all imagination, yet for whatever reason, rarely if ever interfered in the activities that took place in the world.

"He was about to sleep with her!".

"Really now, Martha? How can you tell?"

"It's written all over his face. Besides, remember the day he explained how you can easily connect with a summoned familiar"

"Goodness. Is even the love making not sacred anymore? Nobody cares for the marriage institute these days?!".

"Please Galinda, stop being such old fashioned hag. People don't wait to be dressed in white and for the altar to have body liquids exchanges".

Galinda put her hands over Martha's ears, "Gambino, that filthy mouth of yours!"

The young servant Gambino laughed, "And besides, just because a person declares before audience of drunken and well fed people that this will be the only woman he will screw, doesn't mean it will be so-!"

Gambino hushed as a pile of cloths was thrown at him from Galinda's direction, "Just take these and start washing".

She then held Martha in her hands and hugged her, "Please, don't heed those evil words. Everyone knows Master Albertus likes you best"

    "But that woman-!"

"Fear not, she is simply just a fleeting fancy"

"But!", Martha protested, "Did you see how he looked at her?"

"Okay, fine. She may be pretty… but that's all. She is only a tool and you know that. He will probably only get excited at first, but like any six years old kid that is getting a toy, he will soon grow bored and leave her aside."

    "But-!"

"Well, if you are worried, you can just try to separate them", said someone in the far corner.

"What?", said Martha, "She seems to be very important. I wouldn't harm my master"

"Then don't… But let another take the blame".

"What are you saying?", said Galinda.

"Well", said the servant, "You've all heard it, aye? There are people coming for this angel. Simply provide info on her if you come across them".

"Mikahl!", said Galinda, "This is a horrible idea".

"Oh please, our master is fully capable to handle those men. Even the ministers let him do as he pleases. They not only trust him but I suspect they fear his power. One angel won't make a difference. He can just get another one"

"Yes, you are right!" Martha nodded.

    "Martha!"

"Don't worry, Galinda. I will try your way first. I'll be friendlier to him… Maybe go to his room alone?", she giggled as she considered this idea, "But you have to admit that the master is indeed capable… one angel shouldn't be-"

"Not another word", Galinda shoved the pile of laundry into Martha's arms, "Just do your job and don't get into the master's business".

"Fine…", she said, while crossing her fingers around her back.

"This is very painful" Sham’aim said slowly, wiping sweat off her forehead. She had practiced with Habel for some time now, the "wings concealing" method, but it was definitely not an easy task to do.

Even as Habel practiced with her she could read painful expressions upon his face. Seems like it will always cause her pain, no matter how many times she will do it. The process itself wasn't that difficult to master. It required her to imagine her wings being folded and inserted into her back. And while it didn't look as grotesque as it sounded like (since her wings lost form and were merely shaped of light in said process), it certainly hurt like it sounded.

She fell to her knees, but Habel grabbed her before she could, a pity expression on his face, "I am not happy you are here, my lady. You shouldn't be used by anyone. Again".

"I am not used by him, Habel".

Habel sighed, "You have free will now, but there were many times in the past where you were you did not. It was horrible… For you and the others…"

"Habel, my memory is… blurry… Am I truly a vessel for destruction?".

    Hable sighed again.

    "I see".

"You are very powerful, my lady. Hopefully that wizard is capable"

"Speaking of which… He mentioned a method of binding…"

"I'm sure he did", the angel rolled his eyes, "You did not agree, my lady?"

"It was… not unpleasant… but it was not complete… It was interrupted".

The angel sighed again, "Oh dear… I wish my lady will not have to go through this…".

"Were you needed to go through same process as well?"

"Luckily, no, I was summoned wholly and there are other methods to restore power. I do know what the method you mentioned involves. I hope that if you, my lady, will decide to comply that you will be decretive. They are culturally something that considered somewhat sacred. One can easy get envious if it is shared. Do know they are not permanent either"

    "Oh?"

"Yes, we are not creatures bound by contract. We have nothing to draw energy from. If any of the methods apply they work for a bit, but we constantly need them. Like food".

    "This is so complicated"

"Indeed it is. And just as we are unbound by contract and maintain a will, it is easy for others to force their will on us. Either if we want energy or if they need our power… you need to be careful, my lady".

"Are we as resilient as Adon Albertus said?"

    The angel chuckled.

    "What is it?"

"You just entitled him as "Adon"… if I didn't know better, I'd say you've grown attached"

    "Habel!"

"It's a change", said the angel, "Maybe a good one for you, or maybe for the both of you. The minister is not happy about Albertus doing as he pleases. But I think the Minister is over worried and often for nothing. I respect the Albertus. I just hate the fact anyone has some kind of reins over you. I still remember the last time someone captured you…"

    "Habel, when we speak, I feel… connection…"

"Think nothing of this lady", the angel said almost at once, "Enjoy yourself while you can, but maintain the upper hand, and do not get too attached. It's never healthy for us. We are different creatures. Superior. They know this, and often try to hurt us for this. Even Albertus may…".

    "Habel…"

"This was a warning… I will say no more… now smile for me, my lady, you have mastered the task of concealing. It will also enable you to be less detectable, even by aura reading. Let us return to our lords now, they are waiting for us. Do follow me please".

Albertus noted the way Habel took Sham’aim away to practice some sort of wing concealment method. He also noted that the servants seemed to be incredibly chatty... and while that was nothing out of the ordinary, they certainly had a lot more than they normally had to chat about, in this particular situation. He knew very well that this... unexpected visit could not have come at a more inopportune time.

At the moment, Albertus suspected that Habel was trying his best to convince Sham’aim not to grow too attached to her summoner. By separating the two and speaking to each one individually, the war wizard figured this was some sort of plot to prevent them from becoming.... well, as close as he would like. While Habel was dealing with Sham’aim, Albertus found himself dealing with Elishama.

Well, at least it was an opportunity to get some questions answered. "You said she's tainted..." the wizard began. "By a corrupt summoning of some sort? Is there any way to cleanse the taint?"

"She was summoned in such a way so that she could be consumed," Elishama repeated himself. "Absorbed by her summoner, so that he would gain more power. Truthfully, this would be the easiest solution for her condition. If you absorbed her in such a way, then you could easily summon forth another powerful angel with such power."

"That seems... like it would be unpleasant for her..." Albertus remarked. "And it wasn't exactly what I asked."

Laughing somewhat, the old man remarked, "You seem awfully concerned over the feelings of an angel you've just met. One of the first rules of conjuration among the Levi tribe is to remember that angels are simply tools... wholly alien in nature, made flesh in order to accomplish a goal. Certainly, being absorbed is an extremely unpleasant experience for an angel... but they'll get over it. As for your question... the easiest method would be to kill her and re-summon her."

"I have no intention of killing her," the wizard said with a frown. "And even if I did, it would take a circle of seven powerful conjurers in order to attempt such a summoning, normally. So there must be another way..."

"There is one way, in theory..." the Minister remarked, "But it involves breaking one of the first rules of conjuration... so it's never been proven." Leaning in closer, Elishama nudged the wizard. "I've seen the way you look at her. You're thinking of powering her up through Imperial spirit melding, aren't you?"

"Well..." Albertus began, shrugging and unable to deny it.

"Normally an angel cannot be commanded to perform an evil or impure act..." the Minister remarked. "Doing so would invalidate their contract. And since they have no need of bodies in their Celestial realm... well, I'd suspect we're looking at a very old virgin, over there," he nodded in the direction of where Habel and Sham’aim were speaking.

"Normally?" the wizard asked, picking out that particular word from Elishama's sentence.

"Yes, normally... since her summoning was corrupted and she is tainted, she'll also have less power to resist the command of a summoner who binds him to her will. Do so, and I imagine you'll be able to enjoy your tool as much as you like..."

Albertus considered the words of the minister. For being such a so-called holy man, he was telling him some rather outrageous things. Angels were tools? Consuming them to absorb their power was actually a thing? Binding her to his will would allow him to command her to do some rather... shady things? He had heard rumors that the Levi conjurers had used dark-winged angels as weapons of mass slaughter before, but always thought they were exaggerations. Now he was beginning to understand that they were, in fact, tainted summonings that had been ordered to perform acts of massacre under the guise of "purification."

"I'll take your words under advisement," he said to the mage-priest. "Thanks for the courtesy of your visit, Minister Elishama. It would seem like my Seraph has managed to properly conceal her wings." With that, he gave a slight bow before heading over to Sham'aim's side, reaching out to gently place his hand on the back of her shoulders where her wings were concealed.

"How does it feel?" he asked her, concern in his voice despite the Minister's advice.

They walked some distance from the mansion and then, they both stopped. They made sure no one watching, as Minister Elishama cleared his throat.

You see, some high being excels in power while also harboring great skills. For example the Angel Raziel is capable of finding out truths or locations of objects or people that have gone missing, and Raphael is known for his abilities to heal all wounds and even revive at some cases.

Habel was such an angel, and his special skill was his abilities to open rifts in space and time and teleport. That's how both him and the minister have gotten so quickly to the house to begin with.

Now, the impatient minister was waiting for his angel to cast them back, and did not understand the reason the angel was delaying.

    "Habel?", he asked.

"Sir… Please, you have to help Albertus… and Sham’aim…"

"I'm aware; she is very powerful being and can-"

"I'm not just talking on how destructive she could turn out to be. It's more worried about her… as a being… She had unpleasant summoners before. Most of them were not good men. But all powerful… They used her… I dread the though… and how she felt regarding this…"

"I understand your worries, and I would be the first to say how much reckless Albertus can be, but he is a good man. Sometimes too naive, but good man".

"That is good to hear. It's not completely reliving my stress, but reassuring".

"Habel… You sound so human like when you talk about her… Is it possible that you fancy her?"

"Love is very different in the realm of the unending light. It is constantly shared, and everyone is together always. But I do admit that I hold her in higher regards than the rest… it has a lot to do with my old incarnation."

    "What do you mean?"

"Although demons and angels are very different creatures from mortals, they also drawn from the same source of idea of creation. It's rare, but it's possible for humans to turn demons, by various actions. But it's even rarer for one to become an angel", Habel nodded, "I won't go over the details too much, since this will require the direct involvement of the creator, unlike the demons turning… I was a mortal once. I lived shortly… I was murdered by a kin. I don't think he meant to do it. He was my older brother, see. I remember him as someone who likes to enjoy ideas and creations… But sometimes even we can lose to the horrible thoughts in our mind…", Habel eyes were distance and far, "It was so long ago… But the action was so horrible… the sky wept… She…. Wept…", Habel looked at Elishama, "She was without a form back then, but as my spirit was leaving the body, I was able to see things in truth about this world. Even formless she was the most beautiful being of creation… She sent a white raven… magnificent beast, to teach my kin how to bury my body, while she picked me up to the light. Something happened, and I turned to be like her… Not as powerful or as radiating… But I know I was changed forever…", Habel shook his head, "I've seen him, my brother. He was bearing a mark on his forehead. He too, like me, stopped being a mortal… but he was charged with a great burden…"

    "A demon?", asked Elishama.

"No. It was the first murder… And the world was still needed to be populated… He was turned into something else… Still keeping his mortal appearance more or less, but forever sentenced to wander…", Habel smiled, "But he redeemed himself more than once. I'm sure at some point he will be forgiven. I know I have forgiven him long ago".

Habel then held two fingers in the air, mimicking a "scissor" movement in the air. A rift in the sky opened like a swirling veil and the two passed in disappearing from view. The "cut" in the sky disappeared soon after.

"It is painful…", Sham’aim said softly, rubbing her arms together, "The pain is still there even if it is subtle. I can feel that my wings need to be out… like they want to tear off my back... But I can endure it. Please Adon, Albertus, do not worry. I will overcome this…", she heaved a little, "I feel so… tired… and famine", she nodded softly, "Maybe you can tell me more about my reasons for being here? And why this minister has come here in person?"
