Name: Khaalidi Verdani[Kay-uh-lee-dah Ver-dan-ee] - Some people call her Khal or Dani for short
Age: 22
Appearance: 5'4" with a slender frame. Toned musculature due to her physical training. Long, raven-black hair that is wavy. Deep, emerald green eyes. Her nose is small with a tiny point that is proportionate to her high cheek bones.
Her clothing choices are the standard woven dresses worn commonly by the women in the Tower, but she covers herself in a deep, dark green cloak with a hood, which hides the runesque markings that are scarred on her body from her father's experiments on her when she was a child.
Personality: Khaalida is a kind and sweet person for the most part. Determination and optimism course through her constantly and when she sets her mind to something, she sees it through. Due to her main type of magic, she prefers not to use it unless absolutely necessary, so she has trained with daggers since a young age and has recently picked up trying to learn the bow. So, in a fight she can, for the most part, hold her own. But when it comes to socializing, she often times lets herself be walked on. She's too nice to say no in most cases when she feels the person needs her help, which can get her into trouble.
She's confident in her abilities, which makes her oblivious, by choice, to detrimental remarks and off-putting demeanors.
However, Khal sometimes goes through what she calls - ethereal moodswings due to her close relation with the Veil. Just as she can use her emotions to sway a spirit's choice, their emotions affect her sometimes too when they're strong enough. She could be in the grandest of moods, and then suddenly she's angry enough to do or say things she wouldn't normally. The worst kinds of emotions she suffers from this bond is when a spirit is pining for lost loved ones. Those are the hardest emotions for her to fight through.
Abilities: Ethereal Empathic Scrying - She can sift through the souls in The Veil with her mind, feel what they're feeling, talk to them and call forth their aid when needed. (But doing so, thinning the barriers between her mind and Veil, takes a toll on her and she struggles to regain the control on her emotions and thoughts.)
Mist weapon summoning - Using her mind, she can picture a weapon and it'll form from mist from the Veil. It takes a solid form in her hands, but as soon as she releases it, the mist dissipates. This ability is less taxing on her as she doesn't have to deal with foreign emotions or desires.
Formidable skill with daggers and decent marksmanship. Little to no training with other weapons.
History: She began telling her parents at a young age that she could see and hear people who weren't there to anyone else. Her father became obsessed with figuring out what caused this and eventually turned to necromancy. He used to run tests and experiments on her, cutting and burning runes and ancient symbols into her skin. One day, when her mother finally found the courage to run away with her, they were caught by her father whom unflinchingly killed her mother. Shortly after that, he reanimated her mother's corpse, but Khal was able to reach her deceased mother's soul which helped her by controlling her own abominated corpse and turned it on her father instead so Khaalida could get away. She was found shortly after by a collector mage named Dishon. (He can sense other mages, hence his job)
Dishon brought her to the tower, and there she has lived the rest of her life so far. Though, she has always viewed it more as a prison than as a safe-haven. Barely any know the true nature of her past, and no one knows that she secretly craves revenge on her father for the loss of her mother and childhood.
