You aren't going to see any immediate changes. Infact, if the 2nd team makes it back to the Elcano fast enough, and receives treatment, the nanites can probably be safely removed. If any of the 2nd team take serious injuries, the process will actually speed up, and it will be difficult to clean the nanites out of their system

As for Tris...he'll be a linguistics specialist, I think, which is highly ironic. He's an introvert who doesn't care about politics; also, while not outright racist like the Lyrans First movement, I think he'll at least be uncomfortable around alien species and probably won't trust them nearly as much as humans/Lyrans.
