Well, I made it vague to allow for some freeform computer-y stuff, but essentially they need the drone to respond to Miranda’s brain signals, not Sayori’s as currently programmed, and they have to start from scratch because Cicero’s anti-Berserker coding stops anyone from being able to simply edit / tweak the system.

The disc referred to is the interface disc that sticks to your head and reads your brain signals.

It rewrites itself to undo the change, but I assume it also has that failsafe yes.

Just to let everybody know, I’m going to be away on holiday from tomorrow until the 24th, with most likely no activity during that period, and sporadic contact until the new year. If we move on before then, I’ll catch up as soon as I can.

Hang on a sec - surely Stef isn’t staying in the decoy shuttle (which is designed to get caught and ripped apart)? If she’s doing any piloting I’d expect it to be of the stealth shuttle until Miranda is finished remote-ing the decoy with Sayori’s drone.
