Thanks to a sudden abundance of free time, and a spark of inspiration that is driving me to write, I'm on the hunt for a few new 1x1 RPs...again. So here's a pretty generic compilation of lists detailing what I look for in a partner, what people can expect if they decide to write with me, current plot ideas, and a list of preferences in case you're interested but would rather come up with something from scratch. I'll try and keep it relatively short this time, I promise
About me as a writer:
Spoiler: List
I generally write 3-4 paragraphs minimum per post, often more. I've been known to push as high as seven or eight if really inspired.
I'm happy to play both male and female characters, and prefer Male/Female or Female/Female pairings.
I prefer to write in a third-person perspective
I am happy to play multiple characters at once
I like to keep in constant touch with my RP partners, making sure that everything is on track within the story, or just chatting besides. I prefer friends over mere writing buddies.
I try to be very accommodating concerning my partner's preferences and interests, and often twist my stories slightly to include them.
I like to include romance in almost all of my stories, but in moderation. I prefer a slow burn with entire pages of build-up over the whole 'love at first sight' crap.
My main focus and enjoyment mostly stems from the characters themselves - mostly trying to give each one a unique viewpoint, watching how they grow and change throughout the story, and the way they interact with others.
I take no issues with the more mature topics that might be broached during an RP - swearing, sex, substance abuse and violence are all fine with me, for the most part.
I generally try and reply within one or two days of getting a response in most cases, and make a point of letting my partner know if something else is happening that will make it take longer
What I expect/like to see from my partners:
Spoiler: List...again
A minimum of 3 paragraphs per post. I don't mind if it occasionally dips below during dialogue-heavy scenes occasionally, but the more you can give me to work with, the better
Decent competency with grammar. The occasional mistake is understandable, but hey. Standards
A willingness to work together and help drive the story forward. I like my partners to be actively involved, not just tagging along for the ride
The courage to speak up if something that happens bothers them. I'm not going to get offended - I would rather see the issue fixed, or at least be made aware of it so that we can avoid it happening again in the future.
As a side note, I do prefer it if my partners can give me some sort of notice for extended absences, or let me know if they need to drop the RP for any reason. Again, not going to get offended. I would rather hear about what is going on, instead of waiting for an eternity for a post that is never going to come.
Favourite Genres
Spoiler: Yet another list. Who would have thought?
Modern Fantasy
Medieval Fantasy
Adventure
Romance
Action
Thriller
Slice of life
Dystopian
Post-apocalyptic
Survival
Horror
Supernatural
Psychological
As a side note, I don't mind the occasional sci-fi plot. It does, however, take something rather compelling to get my attention. I've had a lot of bad experiences with partners who just try and fix every possible point of tension or conflict by going 'hurr durr technology' and instantly making up something that fixes the issue on the spot, which has kind of put me off the genre as a whole.
I'm open to the idea of doing parody RPs, but I'm not going to bother writing out an entire list of all my fandoms because it would probably be huge, and even then I'd likely forget to mention a handful. If you're interested in doing a parody RP with me, simply ask and I'll be sure to let you know if I'm a part of the fandom or not. I do, however, prefer to avoid using canon characters wherever possible.
I have a bunch of half-baked plot ideas that I’m interested in trying, so I’m going to list them below in case anyone is interested. I’ll try and keep the list relatively updated, removing ideas as they are taken, or adding new ones as they spring to mind. I’m also happy to twist and edit different plotlines slightly if you have suggestions, improvements, or would simply be more interested in trying things another way.
However, just because I am listing ideas here, don’t feel that you are required to pick one of them to RP with me! Like I said before, I enjoy catering to my partner’s interests – if none of these suit you, then I’m perfectly happy to try and build something together from scratch that is more suited to your personal tastes.
...that wasn't too long, right?

Spoiler: Idea#1: Medieval Fantasy. Chosen one x seeker
For generations, a single family has guarded a relic of great power - an enchanted weapon. It is prophesised that one day, a chosen hero will step forth and use its power to seal away a great evil that threatens to destroy the world. When signs of the apocalypse begin to manifest, but no chosen one appears to combat it, the current generation of guardians decides to take the weapon and go out on a journey in search of the chosen hero.
Basically, character A takes the enchanted weapon and discovers character B, who is the chosen hero. The two then set about training, gathering information, and fighting evil as they prepare to put the big bad down once and for all. I have a few ideas as to what the unknown evil actually is, and the things they will be required to do, but I'm not going to write them all out here. I'm somewhat flexible on both, too, so there's plenty of room for adjusting things if my ideas aren't to your tastes. I already have a character in mind for the seeker, but I'm happy to play either role for this one.
Spoiler: Idea#2: Modern supernatural. Experiment x Experiment
This one is fairly straightforward. An underground organisation has spent years snatching children off the streets, performing nasty experiments on them with the goal of 'progress'. A few of the experiments who have successfully been given supernatural powers by this mysterious organisation band together, using their powers to break out and get revenge on the people who have spent so long torturing them.
Pretty flexible compared to most of my other ideas. Both of the characters can be either gender, and have whatever powers you prefer. The exact nature of the facility/the obstacles they need to overcome are pretty open too, and there’s plenty of room for characters to express themselves through their choices. Are they liable to slaughter everyone, or would they prefer to let people live where possible? That sort of thing.
Spoiler: Idea#3: Medieval Fantasy. Warrior x Rouge
Throughout the world, stories are told of a powerful ascendant being named Neow, labelled the god of resurrection. It is said that anyone who manages to track down this deity will receive a great boon in exchange for swearing themselves into its service. Immortality through infinite reincarnation and the revival of dead loved ones are common wishes, and are said to be readily available to anyone brave, strong, and smart enough to reach Neow's resting place.
The idea is that a barbarian/knight type and a rouge/assassin type both set out in search of Neow, for their own unique reasons, before meeting and deciding to work together in their search. Designed to be the sort of story that involves fighting plenty of nasties, and trust-building between the two characters as they work together to accomplish their goal. I'd prefer more untraditional character designs for this one - ideas that go beyond the cliché armour-clad knights, bare-skinned berserkers, and hooded and mysterious assassins. Plenty of room for world-building and plot twists, too. I'd prefer to play the rouge, but I'm happy to try my hand at either character
Spoiler: Idea#4: Medieval Fantasy. Princess x Knight
A prosperous country of moderate size, the nation of Remilio has enjoyed some ten years of peace. Open borders with their neighbours and a healthy economy stemming from the resulting trade has left them on good terms with most all of their local contacts. The nobility and the common people have both flourished during the resulting period of stability, as have most of Remilio's neighbours. The royal family are well-liked by their own people, and held in decent esteem by their neighbours and fellow rulers the world over.
Things take a turn for the worse, however, when one of Remilio's neighbours decides to break a long-standing peace treaty and attack their former allies. Caught totally off-guard, Remilio's army is routed, and its enemies now march upon the nation's capital. As the kingdom falls, the king sends for his finest knight. He orders them to take his only daughter and help them escape the city, and the inevitable death that awaits her if she remains.
In a very Fire Emblem-esque plot, the knight and princess go on the run together. Evading enemy patrols and seeking sanctuary, the two will need to try and garner support from the other nations as they try to retake their homeland. Plenty of battlefield skirmishes and political manoeuvring, and plenty of opportunities for mutual understanding and character growth. Also potential for a romantic subplot, if you're interested in taking things that direction. I prefer to play the princess, but I'm happy to try either side.

Heya gorgeous
So...
Which one are you more interested in doing? The White elk hunted or the Experimental Retaliation one?
Both of those ideas are amazing to me, and we already know we write well together
I don't suffer from RPAddiction. I love every minute of it!

<3 I'll always love you Alan Rickman! I miss you, rest well. <3
"That's a dangerous thought. There would be tension between man and pillow at all times. Could break it into a domestic incident, cops show up, man ends up with a stab wound and the pillow gets slapped with a restraining order.
Pillow fights are not always playful sorority games. They can turn dark." - Duke
"If you dig in the wrong spot you can hit a gas line and blow up Saturn. Then there would be no rings for anyone anymore. That would be the end of weddings and sport championships. It would also severely limit candy jewelry options." - Duke
Spoiler: #TeamChasoNymphy
"A punch in the boob is a woman's worst fear.
It hurts so much one cannot hear.
And though they may try to hide the tear.
They'll never forget, the wrath of their peer." - ChaosBringer

Well now, there's a name I was hoping to see here some time soon
I would have answered that I prefer the White Elk one, if absolutely forced to choose. It seems I have some interest for the other one regardless, so its probably for the best that things worked out that way. Still, if you're interested, then I'd be more than happy to shoot you a PM so we can talk specifics~

Sounds close enough to music to me Plenty of room for tortured souls and the likes here, if one is so inclined.
Since I can't PM yet I'll expound upon my idea here. This would be a fantasy plot. Up on a hill, near the forest of beasts and far from the village, lies the gifted man. He who has the ability to slowly drain away the life force of those around him and thus gifting him with this combined power. This man has sequestered himself to that small cabin because he does not want to weaken anyone else as they go on about their daily lives. However, one day YC walks in to the village, an individual similarly gifted and yearning for something to behold other than weakness.
That's a pretty interesting concept in and of itself. I'd definitely be interested in giving in giving it a shot, though trying to plan it out and actually get started will be somewhat difficult until you get the ability to send PMs. Nevertheless, I'm sure we can manage it between the two of us. Were you planning on it being a slice-of-life type deal that focuses on the two characters getting to know each other, or did you have something else in mind?
