[OOC] Hogwarts Founders RP :: TITLE PENDING [PG-13]

Spoiler: PLOT IDEAS SO FAR 

A specific plot/storyline hasn't been fully agreed upon yet, so I've decided to just put up the ideas I have so far, see what ideas you may each have, and see what we can come up with together. The Harry Potter universe has a rich mythos and there is a wide range of possibilities, so feel free to use your imaginations!

Spoiler: My own ideas at the moment... 

1. My initial concept for what Hufflepuff did prior to founding Hogwarts was for her to be part of an underground network of witches and wizards who secretly rescue and take in those who at the time are being persecuted for witchcraft, including witches/wizards as well as falsely-accused muggles. Perhaps some of the first Hogwarts students might be some of those whom Hufflepuff was harboring during this time? It might also be possible for at least three of the founders to have first met through this network; Slytherin most likely wouldn’t approve of them not limiting their rescues to only pure-bloods, but he might still have heard of it to some extent.
2. From what we know of Slytherin’s fall from grace in the books, his disagreements with the other founders over whether or not to restrict admission to pure-blood students eventually culminated in a huge argument with Gryffindor, after which Slytherin left the school for good, but not before leaving behind the basilisk and the Chamber of Secrets so that his heir could use it to purge Hogwarts of non-pure-bloods. Not much detail is given on the fateful argument between Gryffindor and Slytherin or how things turned so sour between them, so perhaps this RP could explore that in more detail. One example could be that Slytherin was caught doing/creating something terrible (other than the Chamber of Secrets, which was initially known only as a legend) and Gryffindor found out and confronted Slytherin, leading to their famous argument (and possibly a climactic final battle) that ended with Slytherin leaving the school.
3. Other possibilities could include the adventures of the four founders in their youth, how Hogwarts came to be, etc. etc., ... the possibilities are endless, and in fact, even a combination of one or more ideas could definitely be possible!

Hmm, depending on how things go just how close to canon are we sticking?

Cause I don't mind being the villain but the whole being about how my character will be defeated is kinda something. ^^; After all weren't the Founders great friends before whatever happened?

They were indeed, from what we know. In fact, Gryffindor and Slytherin were said to have been best friends, as were Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw. The latter friendship remained strong throughout, but the former eventually crumbled due to their fiercely conflicting views on blood purity.

Maybe we could focus on a particular period in their development - maybe the actual building of Hogwarts? then we can delve into how their relationships dissolved. Like, what caused them to decide to band together and build a school. Maybe that could be our starting point?

Actually, yes that is more or less what we may end up doing I know our GM has spoken with me and Zee about stuff and it came back to showing that side of things, and maybe even the first batch of students. But yes, feel free to join us when the CS is made

The CS is now up. So far it looks like we’re more or less agreed on having this RP take place during the events leading up to the foundation of Hogwarts, so unless anyone has any other suggestions then I will go ahead and update the plot accordingly. In the meantime, the CS is ready if you’d all like to get started on your profiles.
