Of all the lessons learned in life, By every creed in turn, Acceptance is the costliest, Mankind has had to learn.

The price is often self-esteem, And life must yield as well. It also charges interest, On that, I shall not dwell.

It's been years since Salem was removed from power, taken down by Ruby Rose the first silver eyed warrior to arise since ancient legends. However during the journey and struggle to end her reign Salems agents were not idle. The world wide revolt of the white fang left many academies destroyed and infested with Grimm. Remnant is still healing from the chaos wrought even to this day.
However with their new leader Blake Belladona at the helm, the new white fang are at the front of every restoration effort. The people of Remnant reservedly accepted the fact that not all faunas were following Adam Torros's revolt, but since he was never found after the turmoil even Blakes well meaning movement is often regarded with suspicion.

With the Hunters academies left unable to host the next group of hunters it was decided to merge each academy into a single establishment in Atlas. This new academy was designed with the intent to not only train new hunters and huntresses but to also act as a headquarters for the new established paramilitary wing managed by the atlas military.
While previously known as specialists and working within the military's structure this new wing was given limited authority to act when they needed and could be deployed despite any diplomatic blockages since they were still only citizens.

Along with a new training center and new authority came stricter requirements for entry. Students had to not prove they were mentally capable but face a solo test of skill given by the academies own instructors when seeking entrance.

Only in operation for a few years now the freshly opened FORTRESS was once again accepting students
meanwhile Adam and the remnants of his followers are following their leader towards a new goal......

SETTING
ATLAS
Being one of the few territories with strong enough defenses to avoid the white fangs assault Atlas hasn't suffered the chaos and destruction of the other countries. However the number of refugees that cam seeking shelter has strained their infrastructure. Order is maintained however lives are hard and resources are scarce. The elites in the city country are divided into two camps. Those who can see the disaster outside their borders and work to help those who escaped the battles and the elites who view the concerns of the wider world as "not their problem" and see the refugees as beggars and leeches draining Atlas of its resources.
There are plenty in the middle of these camps with views of varying camps however without a unified voice they lack the power to address the conflict. That is why the Fortress was funded by both camps. The elites who seek to aid the world and the ones who want to rid the streets of these refugees see it as an opportunity to relieve the strain placed on Atlas.
Today is the day that many prospective recruits have been training for. The Fortess was opening its doors for them to test themselves and become the vanguard to reclaim all that was lost years ago.

Talvon was Raised by his aunt Weiss do to his fathers habit of distancing himself from others because of his semblance and his mothers duties in the atlas military being more demanding. Weiss having taken control of the Schnee dust company was a more stable guardian for Talvon. However after his formative years the demands of his aunts work and social status wore on him. Despite his lineage Talvon was his fathers son. Talvon was Hotblooded and reckless. He balked at the expectations placed on his because of his families fame and legacy. He ducked the social parties he was expected to attend and often was found in the many slum towns that were created to house those who fled to Atlas during the Crisis involving Salem and the White fang.

Despite His aunts attempts to temper his reckless behavior It seemed there was little she could do to reign him in. That was until she decided to teach him to fight. This seemed to focus the boys energy and Weiss quickly saw his potential as a hunter. Grateful that she could save her families name AND help her rambunctious Nephew she set him on the path to become a hunter. Tutoring him on Swordplay and the use of his semblance, Talvon quickly became a favored candidate. Though his scholastic skills were not perfect he still was within the top scores of the hunters who applied to enroll in the FORTRESS.

Talvon specializes in close quarters combat and uses dust to turn his Glyphs into ranged attacks and Stat boosts.

Equipment:
Talvon is dressed in a modern version of a Gambeson augmented with protective plates on his back and chest.
Talvon designed his sword after his fathers. Where Qrows was merely a collapsed Scythe/flintlock. Talvon incorporated his Aunts weapon design instead, installing a rotating dust chamber to augment his blade and glyphs.

Sorrel Rosafarben lived the perfect life with her family and her two older brothers. She lived the luxurious life and never left it. One, being that she was forbidden to leave, and two, she was determined to make the best of it. Everyday in her house was filled with something to do as long as it was within their property. She had always wanted to be like her older brothers, who to her were brave and strong. She was very interested in her family’s art of dual wielding and was determined to learn it well. Having many resources, she was able to make her own weapon and train many hours. It was hard for her at times wanting to keep up with her brothers and being what her mother wanted her to be, a prim and proper lady not caring much for combat. Sorrel was determined to do what her mother wanted and what she wanted.

At some point in her training when she was learning to use her semblance, she manifested the maiden powers. Once her mother realized this she never let Sorrel out of sight and pushed for her to be more “lady like” in fear of her being hunted like she had seen in the past. Her mother was determined to make the grimm and everything happening outside of their home as scary as possible to persuade her to give up the combat. Sorrel, however, was still determined to do her best with what she had learned. It became increasingly harder for her to be what her mother wanted and what she wanted and be optimistic about every day, when her mother wanted to fill her days with lessons on being a proper lady. Sorrel eventually decided that for her to be able to do what she wanted she would have to leave, so she applied to FORTRESS. She was both scared and excited at the same time to do this, as it was outside of her comfort zone, yet she felt she was ready to take it on.

Semblance: Displacement
basically an attack that should hit but for some reason can miss completely, seeming to pass through. sometimes.

class: dual-wielder
Sorrel dual-wields two gun-blades , a longer and a shorter one for closer combat range and can also use the gun for longer ranges.

Equipment:
A staff that can be pulled apart into two gun-blades and compacted down. The skirt has pockets in between the pleats for items like dust bullet canisters and other things.

Bio: Zuka Dee's life has been a long con of epic proportions. Born and raised in the infamous underworld of Mistral. Like many of his peers he was the offspring of a pair of thugs who got too drunk one night and decided have a go.

Nine months later a boy was born and they named him after the brand of Vodka that led to his creation. They did somethings right by their son, but the best thing they did was teach him to be a swindler. Smarter than your average urchin Zuka learned the deceptive job of Bard. Sweet singing pickpockets who learn the system and make their names breaking it.

Zuka made good money doing it, then decided to take his game to the next level. Hunters made the best con men, people trust them wholly and for a wink a Hunter could get about anything he wanted. At least that's what Zuka thought, so using his wit and a few greased palms Zuka got himself enrolled in the Fortress Academy and got flying colors in most any test they sent at him. Some by legitimate skill others by subterfuge, but only he knows which is which.

Aura Abilities

Zuka's Semblance ability is called Whip using a control of wind he can increase his agility and reaction time. Using it to either dodge attacks, or run away faster than the wind.

Class:
Bard: Zuka specializes in Stealth and quick low effort/high reward attacks from either a distance or close up.

Equipment:
Zuka is normally dressed as above augmented with protective plates on his back and chest.

Galestorm: His first Bardic instrument, a sharp looking guitar double as a crossbow and a war axe. He carries 30 Dust infused bolts at a time and keeps them in a quiver that hangs from his belt. He has 10 Fire Dust Bolts, 10 Ice Dust Bolts, and 10 Lightning Dust Bolts.
