Well, the only reason I had money to travel was because I had a little nest egg that I saved from the time I was, like, eleven. I’ve pretty much always had a job, as I wanted to save for college. But I ended up dropping out of college and blew all of that money on travel. Heh. Also, I actually benefited from the 2008 crash, surprisingly. :o

I mean. If you call picking up people’s dirty plates lucky, looool. I just worked all the time as a teenager. After school, weekends, summers.

As for the 2008 thing, I left the US a few months before the crash. I never opened up an Aussie account (out of laziness, really), so just worked from my American account. Then when the crash happened, the Aussie dollar plummeted (so did the USD, but not nearly as drastically). Effectively, my money nearly doubled. I was shocked, to say the least.
