Another dawn broke out across the tall port city of Halin. Never truly asleep the bustling metropolis seemed to just let out a big yawn as the late shifter were bundling up and trudging their ways to bed and the early risers stretched forth towards the sky trying to capture of the sunlight and use it to fuel the beginning of their daily rituals.
Cars and alarms blared through the smog and mists that coat the streets. Shifty eyes and even shiftier hands moved through the quickly retreating shadows taking whatever they can before the light of day spoils their presence. The sound of steel cutting leather here, sound of a heavy fist impacting flesh over there. Halin really is a city of perpetual noise, but even down here far below the penthouses and airships of the rich peace can be found. Be it in the grave or inside the large warehouse hideout of the Bay Water Bandits. Today the sun in perfectly aligned to wake two young thieves. A boy with magic in his eyes and a flute and a girl with sharply pointed ears and a pair of hand blades. They were coworkers, comrades, and occasionally friends, they formed quite a deadly duo when working the streets. But soon they would need to become more than just Thieves, they would need to become Heroes.
The sun beamed in through the hole in the roof and slapped the young man with magic eyes fully in the face and was followed by the chill gust of a wet wind. With an annoyed shiver the boy curled up into his blanket and tried to will the sun and wind away so he could get a few more hours sleep. But the wind continued to blow through his small room and soon he growled something in a foreign languages and rolled from his small bed magic extending from his hand and forcing heavy boards over the holes in the roof and wall. He laid there on the smooth stone floor dressed in just a pair of black briefs. The cold was invigorating and soon he was on his feet and fumbling around the room pulling his scattered clothes on. He smacked the small metal partition that split the room and grumbled in a still sleepy voice.
"Up and at'em Libby. *yawn* Boss wants to see us early for...*yawwwnnn* some shit." He grabbed a bottle of water and sat down at the small table he and his partner Libby Marin shared in their room. The Bandits have a lot of members and many of them had to bunk-up co-ed style, Whistler much preferred the quiet Half-Elf to damn near all the others. He at least knew she wouldn't cut his throat in his sleep.
