“Athena.” A deep vibrating voice echoed through the temple made of pure white marble. His eyes looked around the temple for a moment before he saw her; she sat on a bench, made from the same marble, looking out at the green pasture and smiling softly at the deer, rabbits, and other small animals that would normally hide within the trees. A few baby hares scattered under her petite feet, and every now and then their tails would brush up against her ankles, making a soft giggle fill the temple. At the sound of the deep voice, the animals fled back into the trees, the baby hares following their mother. Her laughter stopped and a sad smile lifted her lips. She stood gracefully as her hands brushed her white silk chiton, dark chestnut curls fell around her shoulders while dark gray eyes turned slowly to look at who called her name.
A smile touched her lips. “Hephaestus.”
The same smile mocked on his lips. He was shorter than her, but only because he hunched over a little. He was leaning against one of the pillars, his breathing slightly heavy. He kept his gaze at her eyes, and only looked away when he had to cough. He wore black leather pants and had beads of sweat drip down his body, thus why he stayed outside of the temple. His unruling dirty blonde hair was kept back with a simple piece of cloth, his bread dripping wet. He was old, marred with wrinkles and scars, and yet the smile he held was of kindness.
“I have finished,” he took a breath, “your shield and spear.” He let out a breath, “Whenever you wish to retrieve them.” He bowed his head towards her, and turned.
“Oh, Hephaestus.” She strides over to him before he even took a step away, and gently placed a tender hand to his scarred cheek. She looked at him for a moment, taking in all that this God was and is. The other Gods were hard on him, demanding things left and right, and never appreciating anything that he does. Not even Zeus...his own father. And Hera...oh if only Athena had enough nerve to go against her....words would be spoken that should have been spoken a long ago. The thought of throwing a helpless God child off of Olympus due to anger over Zeus. Athena hated the word, but she pitted the God.
“Would you accompany me to your workshop?” Her eyes smiled to him. She removed her hand from his cheek, fearful her father would see and do more harm to Hephaestus.
“Of course, Athena.” He bowed slightly to her, and a slight blush filled her cheeks. She always was given more spoiled treatment than her sisters. Of course she was the youngest, and had a whole city named for her. Hephaestus waited until Athena took the first step, and then began his journey next to her, but made certain to stay a few paces away from her.
“Do you have much to do?” Her voice was soft, almost a whisper. She is not by any means the shyest God, she just knew when her tone needed to be soft, or stern.
“Aye, Zeus has given me an order that will take a life time. Good thing I have that long. Hermes needs a new helmet, it seems after getting hit repeatedly will wear it out. However, he has had it for many life times. Not to mention Ares is wanting me to redo his armor and weapons.” He chuckled to himself as he went through the list, and calculated how long each will take.
“Did you not repair his armor a few days ago?” Anger consumed her as she stopped in her tracks looking straight at Ares' temple. She folded her arms under her bosom to control her clenching fist. It certainly would be un-Godly. She grounded her teeth as she waited for Hephaestus to answer.
“I did, Athena.” He looked to her with wide eyes, desperately trying to maintain the peace. “But Athena, it is my job. I live to do this.” His response was quick.
“That does not make it right.” She let out a calming breath as she strides towards Ares temple. She didn't bother announcing herself, simply called his name. “Ares!” She stood in the middle of the temple looking around for the God. And there he was, leaning against a pillar, talking to Aphrodite. Anger filled her. For the first time, since she could remember, she acted without thinking. “Ares! You shameless, spoiled, arrogant, pile of Hyrda vomit!” She looked between the two Gods and crossed her arms once more.
“I am wonderful Athena, how are you?” Ares spoke calmly, and well...arrogantly. A smirked played on his lips.
Aphrodite gasped softly as she looked to Hephaestus who just shook his head sadly and shrugged his shoulders. This angered Athena more.
“You feel the universe revolves around you, eh? You're head strong, full of yourself, and care for no one but you. Have you no sympathy for anyone?” Her question was almost pleading.
“I am sorry. Am I not able to talk to talk to my sister?” He leaned against the pillar as he smugly looked to Athena for a response.
Athena grunted in rage and manifested her old spear in her hand and threw the spear toward Ares' head. It embedded itself in the pillar right above his head. Ares didn't even budge, instead he chuckled and manifested his sword in his hand and took a few steps towards Athena, swinging his sword skillfully. The God was handsome without a doubt. Tall, body made of pure muscle. He had olive skin, intense gray eyes, and dark brown hair that fell slightly over his ears. Scars marred his skin, but unlike Hephaestus, his was due to battle. His chest was bare for he only wore a leather strip skirt, with silver and gold trimmed arm braces that made his forearms bulge. She couldn't deny Aphrodite's attraction to him, but she had Hephaestus!
“Must we play this game, little sister?” His words were mocking.
Athena's spear reappeared in her hand and she toyed with it between her hands, remembering the familiar weight. She approached Ares.
“Enough!!” The voice was thunder in the heavens. Zeus appeared in the pasture behind Ares' temple and held a lightning bolt in his hand, waiting till one of the Gods breathed the wrong way so he could plunge it between them. But both stood stark still.
“I have had enough of this!!” His voice rolled deep like thunder. “I banish all of you to Earth for 5,000 years until I can regain some peace of mind. Your souls will live forever, but your bodies will die. You will live on Earth with the same skills you possess now. No God-like powers however.” Zeus smirked, but it hardly made a dent on his cheeks. Without a second to protest the four Gods vanished. “Finally, some quiet around here.”
So, as you can see...the Gods get sent to Earth. Now, for the first few post, I will allow you to be in whatever time period you want...let that be immediately being cast to Earth, the Roman period, when Christ walked the Earth, Medieval time period, before England invaded the now America, or present day. It does not matter. However, just know that once I make my post with the title “Present Day” everyone will need to be in the side time period as myself. Keep in mind, this means a few of us (all of us) could be in the same time period before the present day. (i.e. we could all be in the Roman time period, or a couple in Medieval and some in present day). Just please...when I post “Present Day” in the title...please make a way to become a part of the present day time frame! Any questions about this, please ask!
The plot, other than the Gods banished to Earth, is they do not remember they are Gods. They don't even realize that their soul is being re-born whenever one body dies. Now...you can play a child, however, given the fact you are still suppose to resemble your God like persona (like Ares would be a warrior, or mercenary: Athena a military general, or leader: Aphrodite as a form of lover or beauty; (marriage counselor, brothel mistress, prostitute, super model, or porn star.), it would be hard to accomplish as a child. Now, please understand that this will be rated R.....so if you are Aphrodite and you can not play her character in a respectable way....I will kick you out of the thread.
Now, even though we are Gods....please note there will be NO God moding. No one likes a person that will ALWAYS dodge a punch or be “immune” to certain things.
The other part of the plot...is around the 4,000 year Hades makes a trip to Earth, being bored at controlling the dead, and realize that these “humans” resemble the Gods far to well; he makes a plan to get the Gods to work together to try to over throw Zeus. However, Hades dose not realize....the curse will be broken by 1 of 2 ways: (1) 5,000 years pass...or (2)Gods come together mutually for a purpose and work together. Now Zeus does not speak this when they get cast out, after all, it isn't like they would remember. But that is why I am telling you this now.
Okay....so those are the plots and the one rule that I am very strict on.
Now....are far as your characters....if your God(ess) has black hair...you will always have black hair as a human. No altering it. And the same goes for the eyes. Your skills will never change, however, you may have a different profession. But you must always show your God's skill.
I have a list of the Gods that I will need, but if you had one that you would like to play, please just let me know. Once you pick a God, I will tell you what I feel the skill will be...if you have a better idea, please let me know.
Athena (played by me)
Aphrodite (played by Honey)
Artemis (played by Rabbit)
Persephone (played by Kris)
Below are a list of the few rules that must be followed to maintain order:
Post in order. If it seems that someone hasn't posted for three days, and they have not let me or anyone else know....then you may skip them...but that means the next person in order may post.
Take a day to post. I say this only because I hate a single paragraph post. Put some thought into it, make it interesting, and fun!
No OOC in the IC. If you have something that needs to be brought to everyone's attention...do not do (( blah blah blah blah)) in the post. Please post it here...or PM me.
Other than that....enjoy and please have fun with this. If I feel that everyone is having a blast doing different time zones then I will allow it to continue...but please try to interact with other people in the thread. I hope everyone has fun!!!
As soon as I get enough people interested, I will post a character sheet template, and I will post mine.
And welcome to my big fat Greek family!!!
