This was going to be a long night, a very long night. That meant she needed more alcohol. A few sips and suddenly ice hit her lip. She was out of alcohol already, the band hadn't even come on stage yet. This wasn't good.

She was starting to regret coming here. There were so many people. She felt cornered, and she hated that. Her eyes scanned the room again as she shook her empty glass. A few minutes and the music would start, she hoped the bar would clear out once the stage filled. She slowly started towards the bar, though suddenly her eyes fell on a mess of red hair and her glass almost fell from her hand. "It. Cannot. Be." Her voice barely audible inside the loud bar.

Her eyes flashed a pink as anger bubbled up inside her. So he could show up here, but sending a simple text was too much trouble huh? He would have a piece of her mind, slight pink electric discharge forming around her glass as she tightened her grip. That was until she heard a familiar voice start singing. Her grip on her glass loosened and she almost dropped it again. 'Beast Boy?' She thought. This couldn't be good. Or maybe it was exactly what she wanted?

Now that she might be having it, she wasn't sure. Two Titans in one spot? All of the sudden? She quickly slipped to the bar. "Tequila and sprite, silver, and a rum and coke," she whispers. She taps her fingers on the bar as the drinks are made. Her eyes on the singer as he finished the first son. This couldn't be coincidence, could it?

She quickly took both drinks, dropping cash on the table. She slipped through the crowd and up to the familiar redhead. She holds the rum and coke out to him as she takes a sip of her drink shifting her eyes from the singer to the redhead. "For someone so fast, you're pretty slow," she mumbles crossly. She couldn't hide all her anger. She hoped he would know what was going on, maybe he would tell her.

She had to keep herself from jinxing his glass, he deserved it after not calling her back. She leaned against the wall beside him, sipping her drink glancing back at the stage. "So....mister good guy, any idea why we're graced by the animal man himself?" She asks softly. She wasn't even going to address how long it had been, that was definitely not the most important thing now. Though later it definitely would be, for now, she had to see what was going on. She took another sip of her drink as if the answer would be inside the tequila.

The first song had broken the hold his mind has placed on him. Looking onto the stage “Garfield…” he whispered under his breath. Wally looked over to where the pink haired girl was who was now gone. “This is not good…” he scanned the room looking for anyone else he recognized “If they are here on a mission then the others must be watching from afar” Muttering to himself. Anxiety caused his fingers to tremble slightly he downed his drink despite knowing it was pointless.

Regaining his composer he scanned the room again taking note of the exits and who would likely need help if things when down. “Okay…” he noticed Jinx walking toward him. Jinx’s words bit into him just as he remembered when she was upset with him. He took the drink from her trying to hold back his emotions.

“Jinx… I’m sorry” His voice quivered “Things got crazy and I just…” he realized from Jinx’s expression that this would be a conversation they would have later and that was almost certainly not going to end well for him. “ Right…” he said steadying his voice allowing him to regain his composure once more.

“Honestly, I haven’t worked with the Titans in a while. I am not sure why he is here. Nothing is adding up… I do not see any of the other Titans. Honestly, I would have figured you would have known something… Jinx.” He was going what seemed like 1000 miles per hour. He took another swig from his glass moving by Jinx. “So you don’t know either?” his voice a soft whisper.

Most of the people here seemed to be ordering rum and coke, so Mariana followed suit. She had no particular interest in alcohol at the moment, but when in Rome... and who knows? She wasn’t exactly expecting anyone, so even a small chance at maybe striking up a conversation might be nice, and they say people begin to show their true selves after a few drinks.

Everyone else around her already seemed to be going off into their own little groups. A blonde girl was swiftly escorted to the dance floor, a red headed boy was having a not-so-pleasant chat with a pink-haired girl... but a lone white-haired girl was sitting alone at the bar, looking more irritated than anything else, and even that was most likely an understatement. Mariana couldn’t help but wonder why she was even here; if she was really so miserable, why not just leave? Or perhaps she was waiting for someone?

Either way, it really wasn’t her place, and trying to approach the white-haired girl in her current mood was unlikely to end well. But then, as Mariana started to listen more intently to each of the conversations around her, she thought she heard someone say ‘Titans’. It was hard to tell for sure given the loud music and the fact that the voice in question was trying to whisper. And what was so strange about a conversation about the Titans anyway? Were they not at some point this city’s resident heroes? And was it really Mariana’s place to try to eavesdrop on a private conversation like this?

She supposed it wasn’t, but indulged the fantasy nonetheless as she continued to sip at her drink and listen even more intently to the talking around her. She couldn’t see who it was that had mentioned the Titans, if they had even mentioned them at all, but things were getting a bit more interesting now.
    Thanks for the set, Kicks!

Once Rose had a bit of liquor in her system she calmed down a bit. She was still miserable with the whole situation but at least soon she'd have a bit of faux bubbliness to mask it. She chugged the first drink all in one go and slid the glass back to the bartender, a rather large bill places carefully underneath. "Another one. And keep 'em comin'." As she waited for her next beverage, she began to scope out the room for her target. Mostly all she saw were no name patrons, though she did see a familiar pair of space buns in the crowd. She didn't know the ex-HIVE member personally, but she'd read to dossiers. Sadly, the Titans had turned her good...well, sort of. Close enough anyways. She was arguing with someone, though by this point she'd lost interest and had moved on. Those two weren't her focus. Her drink came and she was about to try her luck weaving through the sea of patrons when she noticed that she was being watched. She'd never seen the girl before and that piqued Rose's attention ever so slightly. Her father had files on almost everyone in Jump but this one, she was new. The merc took a sip of her drink, looking the stranger up and down. Her curiosity almost got the better of her, but she had a task to complete. Strangers could be looked into on her own time. She needed to find Terra.

Rose nodded her head to the dark haired girl, the smallest gesture to show that she noticed, then nimbly made her way towards the stage. She wove through the hordes of people until she finally spotted her, dancing near the stage. Jackpot! Finding her, however, had been the easy part. Now she had to somehow weasel her way into the girl's good graces. But how? After watching her twirl around for a bit she came up with a half-assed plan and prayed it worked. She slammed the rest of her cup and sat it down on one of the tables, then started to dance to the music. This wasn't exactly something she had ever done and she probably looked like a damn fool, but this was the best idea she had. She swung herself to the beat, dancing ever closer to the blonde and what seemed to be her date until- Rose slammed herself into the pair, trying to make the whole thing look as accidental as possible.

"Oh my god! I am so fucking sorry!" She painted on a convincing British accent just to further hide her identity. "I wasn't watching where I was going. Are you both alright?"

Gar was pleased with the way the set was going. The cheers were loud and it seemed like everyone was having a good time. Seeing all those people happy was always the highlight for him. By the time the third song was starting, his eyes were finally adjusting to lights. The bar was a lot more crowded than he had anticipated. There were so many people dancing and smiling. It just pumped his adrenaline up even more. He had just hit the chorus when time seemed to slow to a crawl around him. His vision tunneled and his head began to spin. There she was, just a few inches from the stage. Terra. His Terra. He honestly couldn't count how many times he had looked out into the crowds of his shows and hoped to see her standing there and now that she actually was, he was panicking.

She was as beautiful as he remembered. The picture of perfection. He wanted nothing more than to stop the show and run to her, but he couldn't do that. He'd worked hard to keep his alter ego a secret and he couldn't give it away now. At least he knew she was in Jump. That alone was a reason to stick around for a while.

Cypes started the fourth song in his set, trying his best not to stare at Terra. He was trying not to be so obvious but damn was he terrible at it. He forced himself to scan the crowd then closed his eyes during a higer melody. When he opened them again, his heart sank. She was dancing with another man. He had no right to feel this way, but jealousy was beginning to bubble up inside. That should be him dancing with her, making her smile. The envy was building like a volcano and he wasn't sure how long he could hide it. Thankfully he recieved his second miracle of the evening. He watched a drunk girl dance her way towards the couple, smashing right into them. Gar wanted to smile but for the sake of appearances he tried to keep focused on the show. He hoped that the accident would end their dance for the evening though.

James’ word was good. Even when someone clumsily bumped into them he made sure not to step on his partner. Instead, he twisted so that it was his back that hit with a solid thud against the wall rather than her. It gave Gia just enough time to find her balance rather than fall into him.

Before James could fill his lungs again Gia had squared off with their interruption. For a moment it seemed like- No. It must have been the lighting, a stray beam from the stage had made the tips of her fingers glow.

    ~*~

She hadn’t meant it. No one had gotten hurt. Gia took a deep breath, looking away from the clearly embarrassed girl as she pushed her anger down. Really, why was she so mad? It was silly, no doubt the drink’s fault. Sarah was known for being heavy handed. Though one didn’t normally make her feel this way….. It was then that she realized what she was looking at. For just a moment she had locked eyes with the musician and a completely different heat coloured her face. How long had he been watching her? He was trying hard not to make it obvious, but-

She looked back to the white-haired girl, brushing her bangs from her face as if to brush away the thoughts. “We’re alright.” A quick glance to James to confirm her statement. “Are you okay? Do you need to sit down, maybe drink some water?” She was using her Customer Voice. It had become a natural reaction when faced with someone who had had a little too much. A soft touch told her that James had took his weight again and casually wrapped his arm around her. A touch that, earlier, would have made her uncomfortable. Now it was nice to have something to ground her. She wasn’t going to think about the flash of anger or the musician’s startling green eyes or how she wanted to vanish into the kitchen.

    ~*~*~*~

It was just then that anyone carrying an online Titan’s communicator, or those who had hacked it, would be getting an urgent message. A break-out at Jump’s prison was underway. The city would be going into lock down as soon as the escaped convicts were identified, but all heroes were asked to be on stand-by.

((The next time I post we’ll have a little situation~))
First, her life was an earthquake. Then she was the earthquake.
In the end, when the earth quaked, she was steady.

Jinx sighs softly listening to Wally panic. He was rather adorable, but she couldn't think about that now. "Please calm down," she whispered, a simple request that she knew, but it wouldn't be so simply done. She was worried too, though definitely not as much as Wally. She enjoyed chaos, change, excitement, perhaps he wasn't in the mood for that anymore. She had half a thought to grab him and kiss him if only to stop his incessant babbling. She didn't let that thought more than cross her mind before shooting it down. Not the time or place. She wasn't even in the mood. Not after everything.

Her attention was quickly captured though as she noticed Gar's attention seemed pulled. She couldn't tell by what exactly, but it seemed to be something in front of the stage. A drunken scuffle perhaps? She nudged Wally gently, "Can you tell what's going on up there?" She whispers sitting her drink on the edge of the nearest table.

It was then that her heart stopped as the communicator she had taken to carrying went off, well one of them. She had been carrying both her HIVE5 and Titans communicator pretty regularly recently, in the hopes that one would go off. She had stopped carrying them for awhile, right after the Titan's began to split. They had laid in a box in her closet for years, it was only within the last year or so she had even remembered she had them.

She slowly pulled it out of her pocket and examined the message. A prison break? While not rare, it definitely was alarming with how the night was going down. She glanced at Wally with a concerned look wondering if he still kept his communicator on him -- if he knew. Perhaps she was finally getting her wish, maybe her luck was changing?

After about a span of 12 hours on plane and train, Joseph had made it back to Jump City. It seemed, strangely, not too much different than his memory served him. There were some small details that were different, a new building, some shifted billboard topics. One that caught his eye though, was one that stated: "Jump E.R. Waiting Room Time: '20:00 Mins'!"

Was that supposed to be a good thing? If it were truly an emergency, why would the wait be so long? Perhaps it was simply that more people moved here, and with an increase in population, there would certainly be an increase in hospital visits. Joseph had to admit, as he looked around, that the streets were cleaner than what he remembered. Though, the interior always appeared like one of the nicer places in the city.

However, being that he was in the inner city, he thought about the uncle figure to him as he had grown without his own. It was an old agent of organization that his mother founded quite some time ago. Marco Springer was his name. His job was to monitor him while he was working with the Teen Titans. It was more so a safety procaution for him that his mother had set in place. Joseph thought he remembered where the man lived and decided to see if he still lived there. After walking a little ways, the young man had made it to the apartment building.

He remembered them living in an average place on the ground floor. Once there, Joseph knocked on the door. An old voice answered, German in dialect; "Just a moment."

Jo looked at the door. The door itself appeared to have aged quite a bit in the time that he was gone. The door opened and an old man's head came from behind it. He was Caucasian with brown and grey hair, lines of age clearly hung on his face. The Wilson recognized it immediately and smiled.

The younger of the two gestured with his pinkie, using the letter J in sign language to indicate who he was. The man appeared shocked to see him there. "Little Jo? Man, how you have grown! Come in! Come in!" Marco exclaimed with a smile, to which Jo obeyed.

It looked about the same in his home, just some dust here and there. Although originally, the man was here, really as a glorified baby sitter, the man was friends with his mother for as long as he could remember, before...what he called the Lost Years. Naturally, Marco had looked after him anyway and they grew on one another with time.

Joseph sat down and conversed with the elder man for a little while, talking about what he missed in his time away. Apparently, the Teen Titans had gone cold, each going their separate ways. That knowledge only made him think of the billboard of before. There was a bit of a chill down his spine, but it didn't leave him too shaken. When asked about his own travels, Joseph was forced to shrug. He simply explained that he didn't remember what had happened before his recent move here from the East coast. Furthermore, that he came here to possibly find more answers to his inner questions.

Marco gave his explanation some thought, noting that it was strange. He offered the spare room in the back while he was staying in Jump City. While Joseph initially refused, not wanting to be a burden on his old friend, he agreed to let him know after a while upon the elder's insistance. Though he did tell him that he wanted to walk around Jump a little bit more.

As such, he returned to the streets of Jump City

    |Raise The BAR|

Opening the doors to the bar, Joseph examined his surroundings. The music, the dancing, the chatter of people, glasses being set onto tables and counters. It was rather reminiscent to that positive time in his life, making the familiarity comforting and nostalgic. This was one of the main places he came to play. There always seemed to be a laid back vibe that hung in the air, it helped to relax his mind some. It was strange that there was an anxious weight in his head, despite a large chunk of recent brain function being empty.

Jo wondered if anyone would recognize him here, or if it were even ran by the same people. Regardless of that though, it was easy to notice someone that he himself recognized. Garfield. He was on stage. Or...at least someone that beared a very strong resemblance to the former Titan. The voice was also pretty close, of course sounding more matured. As he took a seat just at the counter, he couldn't help but wonder just what exactly he had missed. Did the team just outgrow itself? Was there something more? Was he just reading into everything too much now?

"Excuse me. Sir!" A female voice to his right made him blink out of the inner limbo of his thoughts. From her inflection it was clear that she tried to address him a couple of times before to get his attention. He wryly smiled, a little apologetic.

"What'll you have tonight?" She pulled out a notepad from her belt. Jo's head tipped diagonal for a second, thinking. Though as his hand moved, she sighed a bit. "One of the quiet ones huh? Don't get those too often." She turned the pad over to him with a pen. He slightly cringed, caught with the reality that there were still quite a lot of people that didn't understand signing. At least that inconvenience hadn't changed. In fairly neat handwriting, he wrote: "Surprise me." A brow of his raised with a mischievous glance to the stock on the wall behind the bartender. That seemed to pull out some kind of chuckle, and without another word, she was off.

With that, though, his head lightly bobbed to the guitar strumming. He was good, though, he seemed a little distracted. Others likely wouldn't notice it, but there were some chords that were off by the slightest of finger placements. Joseph didn't even have to hear the song previously to put together how the song's intended melody should sound. The man was smiling despite trying to be professional, and with the kindness in his soul, it would only be contagious to the blonde. If this really was who he thought, Joseph wondered what made him stay here? Or at least why he'd return if that question applied.

Emerald irises surveyed the crowd of people until they landed on a particular duo on another side. Striking pink hair intrigued him, but memory only served to be faint. The same with the features of the man to her side. It was like being met with a silhouette of something recognizable but unable to recall the name.

Should he try to go up to them and find out? Should he keep observant? Should he remain aloof?

"I take it that you're new around here..?" He found himself yet again met with the brown haired girl at the counter. She had placed down a shot glass of a dark brown liquid. Now a sly smirk crept to her lips. Was that good? Was it bad? Joseph merely shrugged. It looked like he was going to find out.

Wally took another breath as he noticed the commotion in front of the stage. “It looks like somebody had too much to drink… Gar seems to be locked onto the girl thou. I can’t seem to place her… she looks familiar but at the same time not.” He moved back closer to Jinx as he reported what he saw.

Wally felt a small vibration and soft buzzing noise coming from his bag. Something about today was already feeling off to Wally. Normally, he keeps his communicated on his bedside table. But, today he had thrown it into his bag haphazardly and now it was going off. Wally slowly pulled the communicator from his bag noticing that Jinx was holding the communicator that he had given her after she helped defeat the Brotherhood of Evil. Examining the device ‘Prison break’, he thought to himself he started to do some mental calculations.

“This is not HIVE5 doing is it?” Wally asked Jinx in hopes she could confirm or deny It. Part of Wally wanted It to be HIVE5 because at least then he’d know that there wasn’t a real threat. “But, Who would be activating the communicators…” Wally mumbled out loud. “Jinx, Maybe we should investigate..” he said to her in a much more mature voice, if this had been the wally from 10 years ago perhaps he would have made a joke and have already investigated.

The white-haired woman nodded, and Mariana knew at that point that she had been spotted, so she officially let that issue drop. But on the other hand, Mariana was more than certain that the Titans had been mentioned earlier, so now her full focus was on investigating that a bit further, observing everyone around her more intently than before. The music here was undeniably good and the party was well underway, but even the rowdiest bar scene was boring compared to anything in which the Titans were somehow involved, and Mariana had enough time on her hands at the moment to continue to indulge the fantasy...

...which proved to be more real than she could ever have imagined when a pink-haired woman and her red-haired companion each took out a small handheld device. Mariana was too far away to see them clearly, but immediately remembered how the Teen Titans were known to carry such devices and give them to their honorary members, and that coupled with what she thought she’d heard earlier was too much of a coincidence for her to pass up, especially since it looked like the two were now focusing on whatever message they had just received. An emergency, perhaps?

Any ordinary citizen, if they thought something was going on that might require the Titans’ attention, might have been on their guard and started looking for safe hiding places for the battle that would eventually ensue. Mariana, however, felt a warm adrenaline rush at the thought. This was the kind of excitement that most civilian metahumans either dreamed of or avoided like the plague, and if there really was a problem that demanded the Titans’ attention, Mariana had no intention of missing out.

Quickly finishing off the last of her drink, Mariana allowed herself to feel the full buzz of the alcohol as she ordered another one. She had no intention of getting drunk at a time like this, but the two supposed Titans didn’t know that, and feigning drunkenness would make it easier for her to eavesdrop more closely and, if need be, for her to seem like less of a threat to a potential villain than she really was.

For a moment, Rose had been unsure if her plan had been a good one. There was fire in the earth shaker's eyes and enraging her had not been the intention. However the heat quickly faded, setting things back in motion. She offered the pair a weak, apologetic smile as she picked herself off the floor. She straighted her clothes and forced another stumble or two. "Water would be lovely, actually. If it's not too much trouble." She said, the accent making her sound more chipper than she had in years. "I'm such a dolt. The cider crept up on me a bit and the dancin' got me a bit legless."

The man that Gia had been dancing with put his arm around her, giving off a protective vibe that the merc wasn't quite a fan of. She needed to get rid of him for a bit so she could worm her way in without interference. As clumsily as she could, Rose dug through her jacket pocket wadding up a $50 bill before tugging it out. "Really, I feel just awful about imposing on you both. Please, let me cover your drinks for being such a pain." She held the money out with one hand and pushed the hair back on her good side with the other.

    "Name's Rose, by the way."

    ~^~^~^~^~

Gar stalled the next song for a moment, watching the front row vigilantly. He'd been so thrilled that the tumble the trio had just taken was keeping the stranger's hands off the blonde that it hadn't even occurred to him that maybe someone might have gotten hurt. Luckily, it seemed everyone was fine though. That was a relief. His conscience was already going to eat at him for the jealousy once he sobered up. Would have been a hell of a lot worse if someone had actually gotten injured. He mouthed the next song to the band and started playing the intro. He was just about to belt out the first line when it happened. Her blue eyes locked with his green ones and suddenly, he felt like he was falling apart. Did she know? Could she see through the disguise? Did she even remember him?

He shook his head, trying to pull himself out of the haze. He forced a laughed and shot the crowd. "Sorry guys. Had a few too many before the show." He explained, trying to reel his persona back in. "But hey, can you blame me? The drinks here are the bomb!" He went on for a bit more, cheering on the staff and riling up the crowd for another round. Helping the bar sell drinks was part of the entertainment's job after all. Hopefully it was enough to hide his meltdown. Everything was starting to go smoothly again when suddenly his back pocket began to vibrate and chirp. Really? Now?! He was thankful the music and atmosphere were loud enough to hide the noise. The last thing he needed tonight was his cover blown. Cypes kept the show going for another couple songs before wrapping up the set. He thanked everyone for coming and the bar for hosting him then bolted back stage. Once safely behind closed doors, he tugged out his comm, which had sat silent for ages. A prison break. Typical. He sighed and shoved the device back in his jeans. Did they honestly need him for that? The hero gig had kind of taken a back seat to his new career and he wasn't sure that he wanted Jump to suck him back in. He was perfectly happy as Cypes and it wasn't like anyone really missed Changeling all that much. He could ignore it and just enjoy the rest of his evening. Maybe go out on the floor and-

No, he needed to help. He couldn't just take a back seat this time. He'd blown off his responsibilities for too long already. He sighed, thinking about those deep pools of blue. He'd have to worry about his lackluster love life later. Right now, he had work to do.
