In the blink of an eye, the night had turned to chaos. The ground shook and loud crashes clattered over the sound of the music. Gar and his crew stopped performing and tried to assess what was going on. He darted off stage and anxiously began looking for a corner or closet to duck in to. After a second or two, he found a small, dark alcove to hide in. Once he was sure he was out of sight, he switched off his holo-generator. It flickered in and out for a moment before completely winding down, leaving the green Titan where the rock star had just been standing. He wanted desperately to find Terra and make sure she was safe but there were so many civilians still inside the bar and who knows what was going on outside. No, now was not the time to be selfish.

First things first, Gar needed to get out unnoticed so Changeling could make his heroic appearance. He honestly didn't think anyone would notice if the green hero just popped up from backstage, but he didn't want to take any chances. He shifted himself into a small rodent and made his way out the stage entrance. Once outside he could feel the energy in the air prickling the hairs on his neck. Lightning was crashing all around followed by loud rolling claps of thunder. “What the hell is going on?”

Another shift and Changeling was in the air, soaring up a few feet above the carnage. He scanned the area for a moment and spotted a group of heroes not far from him. They were standing in a crater with a small, shadowed figure that he couldn't quite make out. But something else was vying for his attention. Gold was rippling through the ground below, settling the raging quakes. He closed his eyes for a moment and took a long deep breath. It really was his Terra, powers and all. She was within reach, but he just couldn't bring himself to give chase. All he could do was hope that when the smoke cleared she would still be around. As Gar got closer to the chunk of missing Earth, he smiled. Nightwing, Raven, Star. The gang was back together... sort of. Jinx and Wally were there too. The green man came in for a landing, reshaping his humanoid form as he hit the ground.

“Can't believe you guys started the party without me. Rude.” Changeling grinned wide and approached his old friends, though he was taking in everything he could about the boy as he did. “What's shakin', kiddo?”

In an instant Rose's entire plan came crashing down around here, along with half the bar. She felt the ground begin to quiver beneath her boots and instantly went on high alert. Her eyes sharpened and scanned the scene, her gaze lingering on Terra. While every one else was tumbling and toppling from the shifting Earth, the blonde was making a skillful exit. Of course she was. A knowing grin graced the merc's lips for a moment. She could end her mission right here and now. With everything going to shit it would be all too easy to make the former apprentice disappear. She was about to make her move when a thundering shriek pierced her eardrums. Her attention was drawn to the giant arachnid that had suddenly appeared in the rafters. Alright, maybe a quick takedown wouldn't work after all.

Everyone needs to get out the back way. Now.

Terra was pulsing with gold energy and had adopted a guise of bravery that hadn't been there before. It was as if someone completely new was now inhabiting her. Clearly the patrons didn't see what she did though. The glowing girl and giant spider seemed to evoke even more fear in what remained of the crowd. You'd think they'd be used to seeing super powered freaks by now living in this town. A few started to trek out the back but most were still locked in place watching everything unfold. Rose rolled her eyes. Not a drop of self preservation. They all deserved to die. But letting civilians die would probably be a strike against her in the “Make Friends with Terra” department.

Begrudgingly, Rose painted on the most empathetic face she could and tried to help escort people out the back entrance. By this point the earth had settled but who knew how long those webs were going to hold the debris in place. She helped the last of the patrons, a woman with a broken ankle, make their way to safety then headed back inside. “We're clear. Everyone's out.” She called up to the eight legged monstrosity. She had spoke too soon however. Huddled under a large piece of furniture was the guy from before. Rose offered her hand to help him up, hoping maybe being nice to him would score her some more brownie points. “You alright?”

“This is Raven; Seedling and I are on our way right now. Any updates on the situation? Over.”

Luka stilled her mind the best she could as she watched the fight unfold. Now was not the time to mess around. "It looks like there is someone who can use lightning. He's surrounded by a crator. Given he was laying until someone approached him I think he fell-" She gave Raven every detail that could possibly be important until her mentor turned up.

She wasn't needed in the fight. If she was honest with herself she'd probably be in the way. That left Luka with only a few options. She could check in with the golden woman, who appeared to be slowly backing away from the confrontation. She could check with the big spider, who'd disappeared back into the building it had wrapped up. What if it had people trapped in there? Or she could sit and wait until everything was over and probably get chewed out for lack of initiative.

Spider and potential spider food it was.

Luka darted out from behind her hiding place, giving the combat area a wide berth. Once she slipped inside she gave herself a moment to adjust, the dark interior slowly coming into focus. Two humans, seemingly uneaten. One spider, seemingly not trying to eat anyone. "Is everyone okay?"

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The earth had fallen still beneath her calming influence. Most everyone had left the building, and those who stayed didn't seem to be paying much attention to her. Gia looked over them. The white-haired woman who had knocked into her, James, the giant spider, without any real emotion flickering across her face.

It was time to move on.

Gia turned and walked back out of the bar, and immediately froze. A green streak fell from the sky, taking a human's form. She ripped her gaze away, heart pounding. She knew what would happen next if this dream followed the others. The green man would notice her. His form would change to a giant snarling wolf. A fog would roll in, hiding him from view just when she needed to keep him in sight-

No. Nonono. She retreated back one step, two, and then took off running.

The wolf would catch her like it always did, but she could try.

    ~*~*~*~*~*~*~

This was...embarrassing. James had thought himself pretty smart for hiding himself where he had. Sure, would have been buried had the building come down on him. But he wouldn't have been squished. But of course, the heroes decided to do some heroing. And now he just looked silly.

With the girl he'd been flirting with checking on him.

"I'm okay." He slipped out of his hiding place carefully, looking everywhere but the girl's face. "You know-" Whatever comment his drunk brain was about to throw out was mercifully ended by some red-faced demon walking into the bar and asking if everyone was okay. Between that and the spider, things were quickly getting to be too much for him. "I- I think I'm going outside."
First, her life was an earthquake. Then she was the earthquake.
In the end, when the earth quaked, she was steady.

Nightwing was lost and useless now. His head had turned immediately when he had heard the voice, his knees went weak, body locked into position. That voice belonged to the one who had haunted him every night for nearly a decade, had led him down a hole of depression that he had never recovered from. He had been powerless to do anything about the void she had left in him. He had buried her memory as far down as he could, leaving that skeleton in the closet never to be dealt with even all these years later. Now here he was, his facial expressions that were normally so well hidden were already betraying him, exposing him as dumbstruck and riddled heavily with grief. All he could do was tremble and finally choke out her name. “....Star….”

The boy had looked at each of the newcomers, getting more and more uncomfortable with each arrival. This spot was too crowded, these people all had abilities and were surrounding him. He would have lashed out if not for the gestures of peace that each managed to display. The robed one with hands open in surrender, the pink-haired strange one, the orange skinned woman giving him a weirdly happy smile, before seeming to crash. His brow raised at how dramatically her mood shifted. The boy then looked to the source of the disturbance, the combatant from before. He, too, seemed rather lost. Only now did he notice the girl with wings trailing behind the strangely dressed mortals. She had a different aura about her, one unlike the other mortals. Additional figures joined them, a green form-changing man and a man swift of foot. Were all these mortals blessed by the gods? Were these the Titans that he was seeking?

Nightwing gave Beast Boy a warm smile, thankful to have been snapped out of his stare by his old friend’s arrival. The pain was still there, but at least he could regain his poise.

The situation was calming down, tensions had lowered on the boy’s side of things. Nightwing had finally composed himself as best he could to look back at the boy and respond to the matter at hand. If all that this boy was looking for were the Teen Titans, then---

“The Titans are dead… and they should stay that way.” Nightwing shot Flash the angriest glare he could manage before cursing to himself. This was not the time to make an enemy and there was no way in hell this was going to end well.

“Liar!” The Greek boy’s eyes flashed with the swirls of lightning just like before. A sudden lightning strike fell from the sky just inches from the Flash, as if it were a precision guided warning shot from the heavens. “You speak blasphemy unto Zeus! I should strike you dead were you stand!!!” The boy’s anger was welling up again, tensions rising.

“Easy, easy, we don’t want to hurt you!” Nightwing exclaimed, only hoping it wasn’t too late to diffuse the situation.

Cruxos stood still, that same mixture of violent intent and conflicted confusion was written on his face, along with a new emotion...anxiety.

The night had turned from strange to bizarre and by now Jinx was already regretting every decision to ask for excitement in her life. The barista life wasn’t that bad? Even being forced to close alone was better than what was happening. She didn’t mind seeing all the old Titans, in fact it was kind of nice. However, she knew what would happen. Luck doesn’t just give you this much good without bad. This wasn’t just a coincidence and she could feel it in her bones.

Her eyes jumped from every new comer, Wally, boy wonder, Raven, and now even Star. This was quite the reunion. Her eyes shifted to Wally as he spoke. “Fine,” she says quickly before shooting him a smile, “Are you okay?” She had forgotten what it was like to fight, and even more so what it was like to fight with friends by your side. It was nice knowing that the others had her back, and she was glad to say she had theirs – even after all these years. The sudden quite of the battle and appearance of old allies was definitely something of a shock. She hadn’t expected to even see Wally let alone Titans she hadn’t spoken to in an even longer time. Her mind wandered a little, back to the days when she first met the Titans as a partner and not as an antagonist. Such a long time ago.

Her thoughts were quickly brought back to the current reunion as from the sky fell the green Titan himself. His attitude hadn’t seemed to change and it brought a small smile to her lips as he spoke. It was always nice to have him near. Even grumpy old boy wonder would smile when he spoke. Though as she heard what Wally said next her smile fell. She sighs and looks back at him, before instinctively reaching for his hand to try to be a comfort. They had all tried to move on, especially Wally, but apparently that wasn’t an option. Not if after all this time they were being forced together again. All of the sudden, without any warning, it had to mean something didn’t it…there was no way this was just mere dumb luck.

She jumped looking at the child as his anger rose again. She mentally cursed, after what progress they had this could be ending it all. “Easy there kid, this is just a misunderstanding. We need to talk this out!” She called before biting her lip and scanning the area for anything that might be useful in case he decided to attack again. She didn’t want to fight him, he was a kid after all – however, she had seen what he could do to Nightwing and definitely didn’t want to see any more of his power. At least, not on the receiving end. How did he even know about the Titans? Where had he come from? This whole situation seemed to leave more questions than answers, and yet here this kid was ready to fight without asking any questions.
    With love,

    “We're clear. Everyone's out.”

At those words, the giant spider seemingly burst into a swarm of spiders, which promptly retreated into the nearest hole and disappeared. She had done her part in the building, and the Titans’ attention was currently focused elsewhere, so there was no point in lingering here any longer.

Moments later, Mariana emerged barefoot from the remnants of the back door, wearing what could pass for a store-bought one-shoulder dress; little did the casual observer know that it was actually a curtain from the stage, stitched and glued together - using Mariana’s silk - into something reasonably decent. By now the situation at the bar was all but forgotten, with everyone’s attention now on the strange warrior who’d clashed with the Titans while Mariana had been stuck with evacuation duty. And now even that last chance for some real action was more or less gone, as the warrior had been sufficiently calmed down that he and the newly-resurfaced Titans were now talking more freely with each other than before.

“The Titans, you say?” Shay asked curiously, landing gracefully and standing up straight to face the warrior. “And what is it you seek from the Titans?”

Raven became more than a little tense at Shay’s somewhat blunt question, but responded with little more than a brief look warning her to be careful. Better to keep the warrior talking and settle him down long enough to figure out why he was looking for them, lest they risk provoking him into shooting another lightning bolt at them.

Mariana, meanwhile, blended in with the crowd of spectators to observe the proceedings. The Titans were all here, but now that the stranger in the armor had their full attention, there was no point in Mariana interfering just yet. But who knows? If any little thing went wrong, she just might have to step in yet again.
    Thanks for the set, Kicks!

The portal snapped close as soon as he stepped out of it, causing Ba’bajide to toss a quick glance behind him in order to check that the bottom of his coat was still there. Large ornate doors loomed in front of him, stained glass depicting Biblical scenes of Hell and serpent decorated handles welcomed him into a large room with a long teller counter and some chairs, a few of which were occupied. Black marble covered the expanse of the room from ceiling to floor, save for the teller windows, which Ba unhurriedly made his way over to.
A demoness with snake-like red eyes and translucent skin grinned at him from behind the counter, exposing multiple rows of needle-like teeth as she pushed a strand of inky hair behind her shoulder. The golden name plaque next to her read Dzoavita.
Seventh Circle Chicago Office. Do you have an appointment?” Her ancient Latin was drawn out and her gaze went over the figure in front of her as though she was hungry.
His turquoise eyes glanced at the clock before locking with hers as he rested an elbow on the counter. He was ten minutes early. “Three o’clock.
Oh!” Dzoavita blinked twice in rapid succession, indicating that he wasn’t at all who she had expected for that appointment. “Of course, Mr. B is ready for you! It’s just down the hall, I’ll escort you.” Her tone was somewhat flustered as she shuffled some papers and stood up.
I know where to find him, but thank you, Dzoavita.” Ba winked at her and turned away before she could object, not wanting to engage in whatever small talk her company would warrant.
Xibalba was somewhat of a mystery, even amongst the other Underworlds. Aside from semicentennial games and a few internships here and there, they adhered to an isolationist policy and weren’t often seen elsewhere. An entity with the combination of his age and rank wasn’t exactly expected and usually elicited a slew of questions and comments Ba didn’t feel like engaging with.

A few strides later and he was in front of another door, this time merely painted black with a large golden orb in the center of it instead of a handle. Placing his fingertips on the metal, it quickly warmed and the door swung in revealing a man in a well-made, 50’s style pinstripe suit sitting behind a desk. The young god crossed the threshold, the smell of expensive cologne and old paper gently filling his nostrils. Pleasant surprise registered on the older man’s face as he peered over the top of his folder at who had walked into his office.
Ba, my boy, you’re lookin’ great! Your sister did a bang-up job with that meat suit!” The older gentleman chuckled then stood up, reaching across the mahogany desk to clasp Ba on the arm before motioning for him to sit down. The man adjusted a stack of files on the corner of the desk and moved towards an ancient looking decanter full of a shimmering burgundy liquid.
How ya likin’ the Overworld so far, kid?” The thick Bronx accent matched the man it belonged to. Slate grey hair and strongly framed glasses accentuated his large nose and curled mustache as he poured two drinks. Old oil lamps flickered on the walls, casting ghoulish shadows that seemed to move of their own accord.
It’s an interesting experience so far. Especially here,” Ba offered a slight shrug before sitting down. He took in the space before him, bookshelves lined the walls, overflowing with ancient texts and manuscripts- a few of which had covers that resembled human skin. Ba made a mental note to ask to borrow a book or two once they were done with this meeting.
The man smiled at him and handed him a quarter filled expensive-looking whiskey glass.
Two-hundred-year-old aged soul nectar. Some top shelf stuff.
Taking a glass, Ba nodded his thanks before taking a small sip. His face gave no indication, but the nectar seared his tongue like a hot poker before disappearing down his throat like a small electrical storm. It had been far too long since he had drunk anything this pure.
Ha! Ya can handle a drink just like your father!” He let out a short, but hearty laugh and sat back down, “Speaking of your old man, ya can tell him that most of the paperwork for the visas has gone through. We’ll have to meet in two weeks to sort out details and work out a few territorial guidelines for some of the bigger guys joining the team, but aside from that we should be fine.
Thank you, Beelzebub. Xibalba appreciates you expediting this process.” Something in Ba’s pocket vibrated and he quickly moved to silence it.

Of course, the Titans would need something at this exact moment.

Ba took another sip of the nectar, ignoring the disturbance.
Please, Ba. I’ve watched ya grow up! Can’t believe you’re already doing diplomacy for the Underworld.” Beelzebub put a hand over where his heart would be with a smile. It was true, he had been in Peru back then when the twins were born. Surprisingly, the stroke of good luck and lack of natural disasters around the time of their birth had led the rest of the Underworlds to doubt that A was even having more kids, let alone powerful ones. Then they took their first steps and grew up and the continent trembled at their feet. Pestilence came in the form of droughts and cholera every few years. Even Lucifer had sent some gifts for their birthdays every few decades. The ancient prince of Hell had worked hard to strengthen ties between the two Underworlds and his efforts had proven fruitful.

Ba’bajide’s features were graced with the slightest hint of a rare smile, which disappeared quickly as the Communicator vibrated again. The silencing only worked if the notifications weren’t pinged as High Priority. It was times like this that he wished he had picked spending time at nursing homes as his volunteer-work rather than trying to save Jump City.
I apologize for the interruption. A side project I took up has required more involvement than I originally thought.” With controlled exhale, Ba finished his drink.
No stress, kid, I’ve got a meeting with Lilith in twenty, so I don’t mind finishing this up early.” Beelzebub put his hands up, telling Ba not to worry as he pushed his chair back and stood up.
Very gracious of you. Please give Lilith our regards,” the younger entity quickly stood and inclined his head in respect. He hadn’t expected Beelzebub to take kindly to such an interruption; Ba himself certainly wouldn’t have.
Will do! I’ll have a portal opened up for you back to Jump City,” the demon reached out a hand and gave Ba off with a firm handshake before flicking his fingers at the antique floor-length mirror in the corner of the room. It’s reflective surface rippled for a moment before showing the subway entrance on the corner of 3rd and Pérez Avenue.
Thank you again, Beelzebub.” Ba glanced behind him at the demon before stepping into the mirror.

Hearing the now-familiar snap of the portal closing, he didn’t miss a beat as he continued down the street and glanced at the communicator. Replaying the messages between Luka and Raven, he headed downtown. It took him a few steps before he decided to fade into the shadows and reappear a few blocks over. This body couldn’t travel much farther than that without exerting energy he might need later. Repeating the action a few more times, Ba materialized near the patio of some dive bar, hidden from view, but less than ten meters from what appeared to be a group congregating around a crater as a boy in the middle of it spoke.
Breathing in, Ba was hit by the smell of ichor, Stygian iron, and ozone.
The only place he knew of that smelled anything close to that was- Ba’s analysis mirrored the boy’s declaration.

“I am Cruxos...son of the goddess Athena, grandson of god kind of Olympus, Zeus, demi-god, and heir to the seat on Mt. Olympus. I seek our loyal disciples, where are the ones called the Titans?”

He was right. The boy was an Olympian. A dramatic one, but an Olympian nonetheless.
It seemed that the demi-god was more than lost if he thought Olympian titans could be found here.

Ba watched the situation with an abnormal intensity, noticing a few more unfamiliar faces join before fresh ozone filled the air.
A white bolt of lightning arced through the air, striking right next to the group. But Ba stayed where he was, seeing immediately that no one had been maimed by the well-placed strike. The boy began yelling about Zeus and blasphemy, causing the mortal-bound god to all but roll his eyes.

Raven was next was with Seeling and he could sense Luka somewhere close by. The orange and green woman was up in the air again, somewhat surprising to Ba with the energy that rolled off of her. It wasn’t like his own or the boy’s, nor was it similar to that of the others surrounding the young Olympian. He had arrived in time to see her approach the group like a heat-seeking missile but hadn’t given much thought to it.
    Interesting.

Ba blinked, his dark eyes glowing turquoise in the shadows. Either way, he wasn’t going to interfere unless it was absolutely pertinent. If some demigod from across the world wanted to fall from the sky and create a mess, then Hades could be contacted to bring it to Olympus’ attention.
As the mortals loved to put it, Ba wasn’t paid enough to deal with it free willingly. Plus, he couldn’t sense any newly freed souls, so that meant that the group had it at least partially under control. Somewhat.

    . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .

Starfire’s hair reignited as Nightwing said her name; the pain of seeing him dulled by the way he even dared to address her. Her glowing glare quickly shifted from him to the Flash, who’s bitter comment stung more than it should have.

A huge lighting strike interrupted her as she instinctively jumped back, still hovering. Her hands glowed as well, aimed at the fallen boy. It did not matter if the Teen Titans were no more, a stranger could not simply fall into their laps and launch lightning.
Olympus...Zeus...Athena...where had she heard that before?
Confusion was apparent on her face as she remembered something or other about the Greek Gods and their home, but it did nothing to explain the boy’s unusual dress and actions. The Teen Titans were not loyal disciples of anyone, least of all to gods in Greece.

Son of Athena, you do not seek disciples with threats. Around you are past members of the Teen Titans, but we do not know this one named Zeus.” Starfire’s tone was direct but confident, much like how she spoke to her Council. Though it wasn’t displayed in her voice, her levels of anger didn’t subside as Nightwing beat her in addressing him and the kid seeming to lack control of his own temper. The blaze of her hair cast a warm glow on those below her as she fixed her bright emerald stare on the boy. Perhaps she had made a mistake in being friendly towards him, but he reminded her of her own messy landing on Earth. But she could discuss that with him once he was subdued. He seemed anxious, but much like a caged animal, that often made people unpredictable.

Years of training hadn’t left her and even though her instincts told her to return the blow he had unleashed near the Flash, strategy told her that would be the wrong choice to make. But just because she showed restraint didn’t mean the boy would. She was the farthest off the ground, making her the easiest target for the next lightning strike. While she could outmaneuver a bolt, she couldn’t outfly one if she wasn’t paying attention. With emotion running through her veins like a herd of wild horses, she was sure her powers would be sustainable for the rest of their interaction. Nonetheless, she kept her eyes off of Dick.
She would stay until she was sure the threat was neutralized, but then she was out.
