One night a city was destroyed by a falling star in what would later come to be known as the Starfall event. That event was the start of a tale of a changing world. Kingdoms grew distrustful of each other, some broke into civil wars, others declared wars on those who used to be allies. The world erupted into what could only be described as hell. From the fire of that hell though arose five heroes that were in the service of a god. The five heroes, guided by the gods, went from one corner of the world to the next, rooting out and defeating the evil behind the chaos of the world. Over time, kingdoms allied themselves with the five heroes and worked with them to defeat the evil that was lurking around every corner, until the world was finally at peace again. A tale of the ages, a history lesson to always be remembered. So why don't we start at the beginning?

Spoiler: Plot
5 adventures are all in a major cultural city for different (or the same) reasons. They're enjoying the city as it is in the middle of a spring celebrating a huge festival. Then early at night, while the stars are out, something brighter than a star can be seen. It's falling from the heavens and people are stuck staring at it as the star crashes into the ground. Everyone in the city is killed, destroyed, gone without a trace. Except for five people. They awake in the ruins of the city, covered in ash and seemingly unharmed. Among the five of them is a sixth person. They claim to be a god who had fallen from the heavens. The god is without their powers though and needs the help of the five adventurers, informing them that because they survived the Starfall, they were all given gifts, different powers, that they would need to learn to use. The god informs them that they'll teach them to use their powers if they help the god get their powers back. They then go to the four corners of the world to get fragments of the god to return the powers. While they do so they become hunted by a cult who has gained power in the different governments of the world. The cult causes issues inside the different kingdoms, civil wars, strife, bandits, raiders, or even taking complete control through coups. They use the kingdom's resources to hunt the five adventurers so that they can capture the god and sacrifice it to the lord of demons in order to summon the lord of demons from the depths of hell to the planet. The five adventurers most protect the god, help it regain its power, and work to save the different kingdoms through different means to save the world.

Spoiler: Notes
-Each character will get some sort of unique power, however, the player will not get to decide the power that they're character gets. I will choose different powers depending on the history, personality, and overall style that you want to play your character.
-Each player starting out will be playing one character. As the rp progresses there will be chances for you to add family members, friends, or other characters into the rp. However, they will not have powers as they were not as the Starfall incident.
-Your character can be from any background, military, artist, healer, merchant, farmer, nobility, whichever you would prefer. Depending on the different backgrounds of the characters and the overall actions of the party, different events and circumstances will appear in the world.
-Besides myself, the max amount of players will be 5 other people.
-Elves live to be about a thousand years old, however, an exact age of which they die has never been found. Around eight hundred years they tend to leave their life behind and go on one final quest. Some sort of quest that usually ends with them dying and becoming one with nature. A young adult is usually considered to be about 100 years old. However, they consider anyone who is able to survive on his own an adult.
-Magic is considered a work of the gods and simply a story told to their kids. Often, people consider nature spirits works of magic even though they are not. Magic, as far as people know, doesn't exist in the world anymore.
Spoiler: Rules
-All of RPA's forum rules apply
-Try to keep drama out of the OOC. If you have an issue with another player, try to work it out like two decent people. If you can't bring it to me and I'll make a decision on how both players should proceed as well as what changes need to be made to characters or IC posts.
-Please try to make a post a week. If you're going to be gone for an extended amount of time let us know and we will take control of your character while you are gone. If you decide you don't want to play anymore, please inform me and plans will be made regarding your character.
-As normally, my word is law as the GM. If I ask you to change something, please change it. For the post, I won't ask you to make any edits unless a problem arises since I prefer creative experience.
-Lastly, make sure your posts are readable! If you're like me and have spelling errors, grammatical errors, or other errors, in general, please run your post through word or some other application to check for errors. Really though, as long as we can understand your post without having to decrypt it, you should be fine. If players do have an issue reading the post though, do keep in mind that I reserve the right to ask you to edit the post.

-Spoiler: Numbers (Etmere)
Name: Etmere
Age: 4325 (Appears to be 28 among the humans)
Sex: Male
Appearance:
History: Etmere was born among the gods as a god. He was given the job of creating one of the three major races and created the humans in his own image. With the humans, he gave a smaller lifespan than the other races but gave them the ability to expand quickly and defend the territory they take with ease. He also gave them science to counter the fact that unlike the longer living races, they do not individually possess the knowledge of hundreds of years of experience. He also created the animals that reside on the ground is often considered their father, something animals unknowingly recognize. Among the gods, he works to defend the godly realm from the demon lords and their minions.
Powers:
- When he physically comes into contact with people he detects whether they have magic inside of them.
- His arrows have the ability to lock onto a target that he can see. Once they have a target though he no longer needs to see them as the arrows will fly to their target. (Currently locked until the defense fragment is recovered.)
- Has the ability to see how different machines (carts, windmills, that sort of fantasy machines) work as well as see the different parts if they're not working correctly. (Currently locked until the science fragment is recovered.)
- Can speak to and control the animals and beasts that reside on the land. (Locked until the earth fragment is recovered.)
- Humans in his presence can't help but treat him like family and like an honored guest. (Locked until the family fragment is recovered.)
More advanced versions can be unlocked at the player's decisions over the rp (as well as which powers they wanted to be upgraded.)
Likewise, players will get to decide which powers they would like to unlock first by deciding as a party which fragments to go after.
-Spoiler: Splat (Ketri Ograsdottir)
Name: Ketri Ograsdottir
Age: 34
Sex: Female
Race: Dwarf
Appearance: (will post a drawing of her asap)
Kingdom of Origin: Magmoria
History: Even when Ketri was young, she knew she was different from the other dwarves. She wasn't interested in masonry or smithing, and every chance she got she would sneak away from the dark tunnels and caves of her Magmorian city to explore the surrounding forests or gaze at the stars. When it was time for her to choose her profession, she knew she couldn't stay in the city, forever confined within walls of stone. So she set off into the wilderness, unsure of where her travels might take her, and looked for ways to earn a living. During her travels, Ketri developed her skills as a hunter and tracker, taking on tougher and tougher beasts to challenge herself. Occasionally, she would put her skills to use defending a town from a bold monster of the Forbidden Lands. She has picked up many stories in her treks across the nation, even coming upon an injured owl in the woods that was to become her hunting companion. Now, her travels have led her to this city, to what she assumed would be just another normal day...
Personality: Ketri is gruff and stoic, preferring the company of animals and nature to other people. She is an introvert and being in social situations for long periods of time drains her energy. Even among friends, very few have seen her express genuine enthusiasm (or any other emotion besides disappointment, for that matter...). Despite this, Ketri is a loyal and strong-willed companion, and a dwarf with a bad side you wouldn’t want to get on.
Career: Hunter
Reason for being in the city: Selling her latest game
Power: Creature Whisperer: You have the ability to communicate with animals, beasts, and monsters. To you, it sounds like they're speaking your language, and to them, it sounds like you're speaking their language. To other people, it looks like you're just talking normally to yourself! Unfortunately for you, animals are considerably more plentiful than the major races and you have no way to tune out the difference between an animal speaking, and an actual person. When there are many animals within range, if they're talking loud enough, you can hear them too! (Imagine being in a busy market in a city, not only are the people loud but the animals have to be loud too!) This doesn't change the appearance of your ears. (Unless you want it to!)
-Dead!Spoiler: Crazywolf (Valerin)
Name: Valerin
Age: 122
Sex: male
Race: Elf
Appearance:Spoiler:
Kind of like the above though he currently wears a grey traveling cloak over the top to hide his armor and be a bit less conspicuous.
Kingdom of Origin: Aeroff
History: Valerin was born into a merchant family though rather than follow the same path chose to train as a warrior. His hope was that he would eventually be able to join the household of some local king however all this was undone one fateful day when pride got the better of him and he killed another young man in a duel. As punishment for his actions he was banished from the local kingdom. Weighed down by shame at his own actions and bereft of meaning to his life he wandered aimlessly from place to place hoping to eventually find some means to redeem his honor. Eventually with his purse almost empty he came to the city. He saw that there was a celebration going on but he didn’t care much, at that point all he wanted to do was find the nearest tavern.
Personality: He has a certain pride in his heritage though is also burdened with a sense of shame and also feels a lack of purpose. Since the exile he has become rather bleak and downcast and reluctant to socialise.
Career: Knight/warrior.
Reason for being in the city: Happened to wander there.
Power: Blade Dance: The ability to control swords and daggers via telekinetic control. Starting out can only control one weapon at a time. With training, more weapons will be able to be controlled at once. However, while using this power you are defenseless. Using this power works like your body doing anything. At first, it uses a lot of energy and headaches come as a price. Pushing one's self to far leads to a bleeding nose and eventual death. Consumes a lot of energy. More training and use makes your mind use to the power, uses less energy, and causes less side effects.
-Spoiler: rabbit (Adorra Eos)
Name: Adorra Eos (a-door-rah ee-ohs)
Age: 204
Sex:yesFemale
Race: Pureblood Elf
Appearance:Spoiler: mature-ish
Kingdom of Origin: Aeroff
History: Adorra is the third granddaughter of one of the queen's eldest council members. As such, she has lived a rather fair and happy life and was privileged to receive an education in many faucets. It's been said that her grace and beauty are wasted on the pursuit of diplomacy, but to any, she would hear say such, she would remind them that she uses her diplomatic status to perpetuate altruistic causes, philanthropy, and charity. She would tell them she seeks the betterment of her fellow elf and, by extension, every race and creature of this world.
Associations: Valerin is Adorra's cousin by marriage on her mother's side; they knew each other as children, but it's been a great while since they've had direct contact. She knows of his shame and would very much like to help him redeem his honor.
Personality: Warmhearted, practical and sociable. She takes her duties and responsibilities very seriously. She is sensitive and can sometimes be easily upset or moved by things; this isn't to say she'll cry at the drop of a hat, and anger certainly isn't below her, but overall she's passionate about what she feels. Adorra has a deeply rooted desire to be valued and appreciated. She is loyal, reliable and true, in all of her relationships and to her values; were someone she was loyal to turn away from Adorra's values, the elf would be faced with a great internal conflict.
Career: Diplomat
Reason for being in the city: Representing her queen and the council on good will
Power: Honeyed Words: This power works a lot like a silver tongue but in more extreme cases. If you ask someone a question while using this power they will always answer you with the truth. No lies and no withholding information that they think is relevant to the question. Likewise, you can use this power to give someone a directive that they will then carry out even at the cost of their life. The use of this power though comes with drawbacks. When this power is used on someone the person can face a variety of side effects depending on how often it is used on them. Once or twice every few months will only result in them losing the memories of them answering the question or performing the action. The more it is used on a specific person the worse the side effects get. If you use it a moderate amount on the same person they'll become prone to forgetting where they are and what they are doing. With an extended amount of use though, the person will become a slave to your will. You will become that persons sole reason to live. They will carry out every order and answer every question without the use of your power. They require you and your orders to continue living. When not following your orders they die after a week.
You can tell when you're using this power with ease as it serves as almost a sixth sense in a way. In the same way that you know your feet are on the ground, you know you are using your power. Likewise, the more you use this power, the more it draws you to use it. This power is an addiction. Like an addiction, if you try to break the addiction you'll face side effects on your side. The addiction only gets worse and develops when you get someone at the 3 stage side effects, and every one that gets to that 3rd stage makes your addiction worse.
-Spoiler: AngelDellaNotte (Kyrie Declan)
Name: Kyrie Declan (Kai-ree De-clan)
Age: 19
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Spoiler: Appearance:
Kingdom of Origin: Ateris
History: She has always lived a small life, being born to a maid at King's College. She never knew her father, all her mother ever says about him is that he was a student at the College. Despite all her asking, Kyrie could never get more than that from her mother. The servants at King's College live on Campus, including their families. So that is where Kyrie grew up. From a young age, she has always had a deep love for books. Mostly because her mother was assigned to the library and would let her play there while she worked. Often the librarians would scold her for being too loud and bothering the students. Fortunately one of them decided that teaching her to read would keep her quiet while her mother worked. Her deep love of books was born.
Always a bright girl, when she came of age she applied to the college but despite the scholarships available and her aptitude, she was denied. King's College is known as a school for the elite. All of the high ranking nobles send their children there. The alumni are the best of society, including a number of royals. The scholarships for the underprivileged usually go to those who are lesser nobles and they would never allow someone so low born among their ranks. The bastard daughter of a maid doesn't meet the cut.
Refusing to give up she took a job as a library page. It allows her to work in the library and still have access to the campus. She is often found in her off time studying in the library or sitting in on classes. She can't officially enroll in the college but many of the instructors allow her to be in their classes as long as there is room. Her desire to learn has impressed many of the instructors who have petitioned the administrators to grant of her a scholarship. It has fallen on deaf ears as once again her application was denied.
Personality: She is a very friendly person always wanting to help others. She understands the differences between classes having grown up on the edge of both worlds but that has never stopped her from making friends. Even with those who are her 'betters'. Often times she can be found in the library tutoring students who aren't afraid of getting advice from a low born bastard.
Career: Library Page
Reason for being in the city: She lives there
Power: Words of Power: You have the ability to bring what you write to life. The longer you write, the more descriptive it is, the more powerful it is when it comes to life. Need wood to start a fire, write it in your book and watch it come into existence in front of you. Just make sure you have enough room for the object to appear. If it's bigger than the area in front of you it will crush whatever it appears on top of. There is a price to this power though. Normal ink will get you nowhere. Your creations will only come to life if you use your blood as the ink. For something can only be created when you give something in return. Bigger creations, longer descriptions, more powerful creatures, will all require more blood. You might need to find an alternate source of power to fuel your needs.
-Spoiler: Dnafein (Edward Darieux)Name: Edward Darieux
Age: 24
Sex: Male
Race: Human
Spoiler: Appearance
Ed typically wears dark clothing. Including a long dark cloak.
Kingdom of Origin: Ateris
History: Once upon a time Ed was adorable and covered in dirt. As a waif he survived by being the distraction while someone else picked the targets pocket or conned them into handing over something they wanted. When unable to find a paying gifted Ed used his quick reflexes and easily distractible fruit merchants to steal his supper.
As he grew older Ed had to learn how to pick pockets and the various street corner cons; He picked these up quickly. Unfortunately being good at something often brings unwanted attention. While he managed to generally avoid the law Edward caught the attention of the local thieves guild.
At first he managed to make more than enough to pay their cut and to eke out a decent living. But thieves are nothing if not greedy, and so Ed took a job helping a thief rob a merchant. Luckily for him, he was good at burglary.
Ed’s life turned a corner after that; No longer was he barely making ends meet. After a job he usually had money to spend, and spend he did. On all the pleasures the city could provide, at least until the stars fell from the sky.
Personality: Ed generally keeps to himself, a trait he picked up as a child on the street. That's not to say he is unsociable, he just likes to avoid attention. He's fairly easy to please; A little drinking, a little carousing, maybe some feasting. He has a way of living in the now, spending what coin he has mostly on making now as pleasant as he can. There is one thing he will always do when he has coin; Any waif he sees he always hands a coin.
Career: Thief
Reason for being in the city: One must be where the riches are to get rich stealing.
Power: Incorporeal Hands: You have the ability to turn your hands incorporeal and back to normal. Not only this, while your hands are incorporeal, you can still grab objects and turn them incorporeal as well, turning them back to normal once your hands go back to normal. The more you use this skill the more you start to turn into something else. This process of turning into something else can be stopped and possibly reversed by a currently unknown force.
