So much was happening, it was difficult for Charlotte to keep her head on straight! The man on the bus (Mr. Sleepy, she dubbed him) was very nice, and their exit was very exciting! All she knew is that there was something about a dinosaur and then they were all outside. They walked up to the school and Mr. Sleepy left, but as they entered the main gates Charlotte’s eyes widened. The huge cobblestone building, certainly larger than anything back home, greeted them. She uttered a soft “woah” under her breath.
The nice tour lady, who she forgot the name of, led them up the steps and stopped, speaking with a teacher. It was all kind of weird. Again, she sort of zoned off during the conversation, fiddling with her hair. She needed to work on those things.
The library was amazing, with more books than she had ever seen in her life. A lot of them had complicated words though. She frowned. Everything was huge and magnificent. The cat certainly looked friendly.
After she grabbed her library card, she yawned. Her day was beginning to get very long. She perked up when she heard something about plants, but was disappointed when the conversation quickly and abruptly ended.
The next classroom was a very odd sight. Strange music was playing, books were moving, and there were skeletons everywhere. They were walking around, like they were alive! It spooked her. She was glad they left the class quickly.
At last, they were at the dorms. She was a bit confused when she learned she was the youngest, but still quickly joined the girl’s line. The nice tour lady was nearly twenty, practically ancient! The room was very warm and cozy, and she was excited to get to know her roommates. She hoped they weren’t too quiet. She pulled her stuffed bear out of her luggage and placed it on her bed. Her bright yellow blanket reminded her of the sun, and the green reminded her of plants. Two of her most favorite things!
She turned to her roommates, grinning. “Hello! My name’s Charlotte and I love plants! We should get to know each other, I hope we’re going to be best friends! What did y’all think of the tour?”
