Where I'm working now (State University) has effectively closed the campus for the next three weeks (Spring Break included in that) and has as many staffers as possible, myself included, working from home as of yesterday - which I appreciate, as I've been sick for the past week and have stayed home out of an abundance of caution.

I honestly don't have a damn clue whether I've got COVID-19, or some manner of regularly scheduled seasonal cold or flu as the symptoms overlap so damn much - and I don't fancy my chances of being able to be tested, when on a national scale we cannot even have frontline medical staff with known exposure tested.

I heard recently that testing will be absolutely free in the US. Please try and get tested if you think you might have it. I would hate to see something happen to you. Drink a lot of water doctors here are suggesting plenty of water can force the virus into your stomach where the acids will kill the virus instead of it potentially infecting you. Get some masks and goggles too if you can. Especially if you’re going to be going to any crowded events. Also routine hand washing is another suggestion.

I know some of those suggestions are general knowledge but take care man.

I appreciate the concern, mister. I'm mostly fine now, other than persistent coughing - plenty of drugs, sleep and water, and most likely calling out from the weekend job to be safe for myself and others.

In regards to testing - that legislation hasn't even passed through Congress yet, as the Senate was dismissed for a long weekend and some 'principled' legislators in the House and Senate have deployed some procedural roadblocks which have slowed the process. It's more of an access issue, than anything - as the number of tests readily available is still horrendously low, compared to the population and the projected rates at which the virus spreads, and the need amongst front-line responders.
