Ahem, the effect is called Zalgo text, and I've seen it kick around on facebook and other places. Apparently it uses base character set because it translates into the forum perfectly. I have no idea how the effect is created, but apparently you can do it from your keyboard if you know the trick.

I’ll give him another couple of days to respond, but you have an outline of what he’ll be doing:

Well, Sergeant Wilhelm of 3rd platoon is just about to let the Captain, 1st platoon and 2nd platoon know over company vox. Captain Antheia will then let all the local vox channels know about the Vanquisher and the Hydra. Followed promptly by her converging 2nd companies tanks for a full assault, most likely in some kind of pincer.

There is something very fun in writing the crunchies combat for mechanicus. Their completely fanatical nature and their awareness and embracing of their own complete expandability makes for a very different writing experience compared to say. . .Imperial Guard or Space Marines, who are either trying to be heroes or actually heroic demigods. The skitarii aren't clever or cunning or even much more powerful than their opponents, generally. They are just utterly willing to thrown themselves into the breach and grind away until they achieve victory.
