We're in the interlude/aftermath section? What's the opinion of Cadian infantry coming in to secure the area before the rest of us move up, then have instances of armed civilians have instances of abusing, throwing rocks, maybe a shooting incident after witnessing the Auto-da-fe?

We the PCs have more or less finished the active combat as of

, with our units holding the starport and the senior officers compiling the AAR - although your tankies (with Legion escorts, and likely any Kriegans whose Chimeras weren’t destroyed) have gone to reinforce the Callisto Airborne who’ve held off (with Navy assistance) Divinatory Guard reinforcements intended for the starport, so some of those ideas could work with that. Alternatively, write some standalone Cadian infantry POV?

The interlude at this point has a few distinct moments in the timeline, based off scenes that are active WIP or have been discusses: immediate aftermath / auto-da-fe / aftermath of the auto-da-fe.

The immediate aftermath has scenes regarding Crenshaw / Gerry / Joe and Janie which are interwoven quite significantly, which also feature Delilah Tarpeian and her goons, as well as the threatened Commissariat Measuring Contest between Valkyr and Kulkarni. There’s opportunity enough for scenes around this time – off the top of my head: Sarusians come over to the starport (and have a demoralizing driving through their day’s work) and incidentally bumping into the Tarpeian sect, Antheia takes Preacher Dieter to task for tanking a melta shot for her tank, meeting Heinhold and his ducklings.

There’s still going to be violence at the auto-da-fe, however there have been some much appreciated tweaks to how the buildup to the ADF went (Odervank might be able to ignore Guard officers – not so much the Silent Vigil) which means I’ve been able to scale that to the most dented Baraspini taking vengeance on the Cams, with some collateral damage back at the Legion’s barracks, which could incidentally include some of the Cadians who might’ve come by to hang out with the confined to barracks legionaries.

The ADF aftermath as it stands is more or less continuing the Bridgette and Grace arc, which has a penciled in reference to a Commissariat-Munitorum funeral service – although if you’re hoping that a certain Moustache will feature prominently in that scene, I’m sorry to say you’ll be disappointed.

Also, see previous page of this thread if you want to add anything to the defensive set up for Imperial Guard mission 2.

Thanks for the updates Highland and Dakka, I will write a reply for you both as soon as possible (I'm afraid I can't put an exact date on it at this time)

Patriot team - as alluded to be lieutenant Beck, your next task is to capitalise on recent intelligence and fortify the mainland front-line against the imperial push. The rivers cutting across the mainland make for natural defensive barriers, and you are being assigned a strategic bridge crossing to guard. The village of Endurance straddles the river and is surrounded by agricultural land, with thicker forested areas about a kilometre out. Local civilians have been ordered out of the area prior to the battle.

Backing you up are the Siculi Peacekeepers under major Hancock - they are a militia unit similar to the Teph Min and although most of them have led quiet, agri-world lives, they are keen to emulate the heroics of the Nebulas who foiled a kidnapping attempt of governor Tierce on their own home planet, the very operation that made captain Tarran famous. In reserve are the elite 4th Tephaine Rangers under colonel Tanaka; she will be in radio contact to try and keep you forewarned of imperial movements.

If you would like any specific defensive measures accounted for in the pre-battle set up, tell me now!

    Ok
So in other words, we're now on the defensive.
Same location we just took? Or a different one?
    Obviously same planet.

What supplies do we have to fortify ourselves with?
And how much time do we have?

Different one (see above); you’ll be pleased to hear that the climate on the mainland is a bit less oven-like than the island you were just on.

Ammo, specialist weapons (including man-portable SAMs) and fortification supplies such as diggers, mines, camo-nets and razor wire can be made available, depending on how obvious you want your presence to be. The 88s and the Teph Min aren’t exactly regular line units, but HQ has seen them fight now, and they know the importance of this bridge.

You would have a couple of days to prepare the ground while the imperial forces regroup.

I'm starting to think, and I don't want my word to be their all end all in this.

Artillery and SAMS in 3-4 pockets around the inner edge of the perimeter for good coverage. Trenches and balwarks for defensive positions along the rivers, and the bridge. Mortar emplacements spread throughout the trenches, with some in hidden sections along the sides.
See what we can find/make in the way of Sniper nests, also hidden if we can help it.
Mining and wiring the direct rout, and maybe other booby traps set in place for those who want to try going around. Like pungy sticks.
Honestly, is sorta in hopes that there are some hills, maybe small cliffs, and wooded areas that we can utilize.

    Anyone else got some thoughts?

The Destruction Maniple's robots can also be set in prime defensive positions to maximize their firing potential, particularly the heavier Castellan bots. The Skitarii galvanic rifles have impressive range so the Rangers are flexible in where they can be placed.

A big decision point will be where to put the Sicarians. Once the most likely avenue of attack from the Imperials is worked out, having them act as hit-and-run ambushers would likely help in breaking up the attacking rhythm before it can properly start.
