Lucent noticed the start of surprise in Elisabeth's features, and the instinct with which she coiled up to strike at this uninvited touch, but she fought back her instincts at the last moment, demurring to his authority. "Yes, Alpha Mane, I understand." Those words of submission he hoped to hear much of from the younger warrior in the future. His point made, he stepped back and feigned disinterest, watching how the brunette handled his sister.
Elisabeth had the perception not to shy away from his sisters demands like she had his, and her words were sweet but uncompromising. While her eagerness to prove herself so soon may have been feigned, Khlia seemed satisfied enough, stepping back and giving a nod and a growl of agreement, her deep green eyes so similar to her brothers, but also harder, crueler, transfixing the younger warrior, sizing her up once again.
Khlia didn't hate her, at least, not to the extent that Elisabeth clearly hated them. If the brunette warrior proved her mettle, Khlia could grudgingly accept her brothers...infatuation with the girl. If she proved weak, or worse, cowardly, an 'accident' could always take place in the heat of battle. Better that than allow her brother's invaluable attention be wasted on useless pursuits.
Once Savic returned from his call, Lucent turned his attention back to the older Alpha, once again concealing his disappointment at the Evertails lack-luster response to their call and taking the polite words offered at face value. While he was truly disappointed that even a pack he and his sister had never once attacked or offended still saw he and his sister with scorn and derision simply for being, he was not surprised. Hearts and minds were hard to change. At the moment, he didn't need their love, only their strength.
"Very well, Savic. Travel safely. With your agreement, I will have instruct my warriors to begin patrolling the outskirts of Evertail territory starting tonight. If any of your own men run into trouble, they'll only be a howl away. Redmoon will likely need time to consider and discuss our alliance with his own allies before he makes a move, but it's better to be cautious." Lucent answered, back to being completely businesslike now, running possible moves and counter-moves through his head. At least, until he turned his attention to Elisabeth when she gave her regards, she truly did know just what to say to the both of them, giving her a satisfied grin before she turned to follow after her Alpha.
He kept grinning as she walked away, admiring the curve of her shoulders, the toned muscleature of her back, and the sway of her hips as the vanished into the night. This reverie was only broken when Khlia suddenly punched him in the shoulder, hard enough to make him stumble to the side. Lucent turned to his sister to find her wearing a playful smirk.
"Focus, Brother. Fuck her later, we have work to do." She stated with a teasing roll of her eyes and turned on heel back the way they came, the limousine would be parked just down the block.
