She chuckled softly, brushing a stray hair from her face before smoothing her hands down the front her jerkin, accentuating the curves of her body before moving to pull her jacket off the fence. “Well, I highly doubt that you have a stash of honeyed figs and cheese hidden in your stores. I suppose an apple and some venison will have to do.”

Volare chuckled nodding slowly. "Ay, I don't have much of a sweet tooth myself, no honeyed figs, but I do have cheese and some dried meat and bread in the pantry. Nice simple sandwiches will do us." Leading the rest of the way he smiled at how the woman's jerkin hugged her curves magnificently.

He entered the house and hung his coat up and went to the pantry to find the food needed. "I'll let you pick our drinks lassie."

She smirked then, a hint of amusement in her eye as she watched him walk. “That'll do, old Mer, that'll do.”

She paused at the door, frowning lightly as he tromped right in on her clean floor. With a disgruntled sigh, she removed her filthy shoes and set them aside before stepping in herself and hanging her coat beside his.

Moving to the kitchen, she began to riffle through his cabinets. Her first intention was one of the remaining bottles of blackberry mead, but she paused with her hand on the bottle. As affluent as her tastes still were, she had to be logical about her choices now.

They would never finish their work while basking in the glow of such drink. Closing the cabinet, she instead collected two mugs and filled them with water before placing them on the table. “Best to not cloud our minds until we're done, no matter how much I'd like to.”

The warrior exited the pantry and saw Arayna cleaning the floor where his dirty boots had messed up the floor. "Ooops sorry." He said pulling his boots off and carries them to the door before picking up the broom and cleans up the boot marks and dirt. "Hmm water is probably the better choice good on you lassie." Once he had cleaned up his mess he went back into the pantry and got the food stuffs for their lunch.

She snorted a light laugh as she watched him retrace his steps with the broom. As he finished and pulled the necessary food from the pantry, she retrieved a long kitchen knife from its place in the block. Her nimble fingers delicately traced the edge of the blade from hilt to tip, a dark look passing behind her eyes, before she carefully turned the blade and offered it to him hilt first with a slightly unnerving smile.

Volare noted the oddness of the situation, but took the knife and nodded to her quickly cutting and preparing the meal. He tried not to think of the odd look as he sliced the meat, cheese, and bread.

As he worked on finishing up putting together their lunch, Arayna stepped over to look out over the fields through the kitchen's window. The wheels were turning in her mind, but she would keep those dark thoughts suppressed for the time being. It was good of him to keep every blade in his house so efficiently sharp though.

Making quick work of the meals Volare picked up the plates and carried them to the table before sitting down in a chair beginning to eat. "Hopefully we finish up fixing the new fields and fence before it gets dark."

Turning from the window, she found her seat and began to eat. After she had a third of it gone, she finally paused long enough to take a drink of water and respond. “We're making good time, I see no reason we shouldn't.” Shrugging then, she took another bite and swallowed. “Besides, if we do lose the light, I can always make more.” With a mischievous grin, she went back devouring her sandwich.

The Mer shaking his head brushing some crumbs from his lips before taking a long gulp of his water. "You just all kinds of eager to do some magic ain't ya lass?" He asked chuckling before he picked up his sandwich. "Does magic need to be blown off like steam from a kettle?"
