Name:Janus, or just 'Jan'. Like most 'underclass' Vampires, he doesn't get a last name even if he knew what his human name had been. Instead, like most, he just picked one that he liked the sound of from a list of gods and heroes.

Age:Looks like he's in his mid-twenties, but since he was already turned when the Grigorov's took him in, he could be much older.

Background: Jan doesn't remember his past life as a human any more, even his old name is lost to him. A minor vampiress named Anne in service to the Grigorov's discovered him while she was off looking for her master's next meal, living in a city sewer, half-feral, feeding off of rats and the occasional homeless unlucky enough to bed down nearby. He was a pitiful sight, so she took him back to the family to be raised 'properly'. It's assumed that he was an accident, some wandering Vampire's leftovers who hadn't been drained dry and survived, if only barely. The first thing he remembers of his second life is waking up in an alley with a wicked bite on his neck and a insatiable thirst for blood. Sometimes he gets flashes of memories of whatever he was before, but they're all jumbled together and difficult to understand.

Despite the wretched state in which he was found, once the initial shock wore off, he proved very strong and very fast, even by Vampire standards, and fairly clever, taking easily to whatever task was set before him. It was almost three years of difficult, and sometimes very harsh, training and education that he was deemed 'worthy' of being presented to Lord Alwah for approval and assignment to some task in service to the family.

Personality:Having been 'civilized' entirely by the servants of the Grigorov family, Janus has an almost-ingrained sense of loyalty and duty towards his betters...it isn't even a matter of respecting or even liking them on a personal level, they're the ones who brought him in out of the cold, lonely life of a lost Vampire alone in a world that feared and hated him, gave him a steady diet of fresh blood where once he had near-starving every day. He's eager for a chance to earn their respect and gratitude, give something back in return for the purpose they've given him.

Janus is solitary and brooding, even for a Vampire. His 'feral' period had a profound impact on his psyche, leaving him taken to silences and stares, as if the world is too big for him to wrap his head around. He keeps his thoughts well-guarded, and rarely speaks unless spoken to. The only family he knew, his adoptive 'mother' Anne, was killed recently, staked through the heart, presumably by human Vampire Hunters, only leaving him more adrift and isolated than he already was.

Appearance:Tall, a hair under six feet, with long limbs wrapped in corded muscle from hard training and exercise. His skin, while still pale, is a few shades darker than that of the Grigorov bloodline, almost a pale gold. His hair is midnight-black, worn long and usually braided or tied back to keep it out of his eyes, most of which are such a pale blue they're almost white, the color of ice, but for the edges of the irises, which are banded with rings of blood-red that gives him a threatening aspect. These differences peg him for a member of a foreign breed of Vampire than the Grigorov's eastern-european variety, marked for an outsider at a glance.
