Name: Róisín Rushe - aka The Bluebird
Age: 29 and feeling fine - albeit a bit of a late bloomer.
Gender: Female
Job: I've worked odd jobs since I graduated. (Don't ask.)
...
Okay, fine. I'll tell you anyway, hah.
I recently graduated from NYU with a degree in sociology. What a waste of time that was. Since I received that piece of paper, I've been out doing random things that make me a decent (enough) living. I've tried photography. I've tried phone sales. I've tried being a travel agent. I've even tried fruit picking! (Again. Don't ask.)
Class: Adventurer.
Appearance:
"So I don't look amazing without makeup. But whatever. At least I’m not afraid to show the world my true self, even if it is a bit spotty. Because that's the only job that matters... to always just be me... roe to the show to the she to the eeeeen."
*ahem*
Róisín. Pronunciation: Roe-SHEEN.
Meaning: Little Rose.
Personality:
I hate describing myself, probably just as much as everyone else does. But again... whatever. Here I go. I'm...

...thank you very much for asking.
tl;dr?
Then I'll go on and describe myself in normal-lengthed words. Passionate, light-hearted, a bit of a creative. I am somewhat random too, though despite this, I still like to think that I have a good head on my shoulders. I also love it when people underestimate me, because the look of surprise on other's faces is always fun.
P.S. I have a huge crush on Batman.
Strengths:
1. Optimism.
I try to make the best of everything, you know? I hail from a country of dark history with dark skies that is chock full of dark humour. So what else can we all do but laugh in the darkness? Because it’s too easy to forget that in this gross world there also exists:
- Puppies
- Sunrises and sunsets
- Chocolate chip cookies
- Fuzzy socks
- Moonlight
- WE LANDED ON THE MOON!
- Music
- Naps
2. Movement.
I don't stay in one place for long. Is that called a free spirit? Or a boho, perhaps? (Though I prefer boho-chic.) Either way, I love discovering new experiences and new faces. Being a mindless traveller is practically my job now, so I adapt quite well to different types of personalities and different sorts of environments and cultures.
3. Agility.
Dancing. Prancing. Stretches. Splits. Skinny Dips. Yoga. Pilates. Swimming. Skips. Flips. I do all of the things.
Weaknesses:
1. Too Laid Back.
In short, the world is my playground... and also my recliner. I can get comfortable anywhere and with almost anyone. So the odd time, I need a good kick in the (metaphorical) balls to get me choo-chooing down the right train tracks at full speed.
2.Procrastination.
I work well under pressure, what can I say? Can many people claim to get an 95% on a research paper that they wrote in one day?
3. Rules Don’t Matter.
Rules are elastic, flighty little things, aren’t they? Stretchy and malleable like Gak... or Stretch Armstrong.
Hidden Ability:
Teleportation.
First I’m here
Then I’m there
Then HELLO
In yer face!
boo
Element:
Air. Where birds fly free above the below.
Bio:
I’ll try to make this quick. I was born in Derry, but grew up in Donegal. Basically the same place, except they’re in two different countries… technically. (My father is a northie from Derrytown and my mother a southie from Ardara.) Even my name is a bit of a mixture, as Rushe is pure Anglo-Saxon, while Róisín is Celtic... and the name my mother chose.
I have four older brothers (would-be boyfriends beware). But they're harmless, really. Two of them are with their wives and children in Ireland, another is a lawyer in Japan, while the other is working as a DJ in Canada. Then there’s me, the baby, the only girl. I lived a cozy life until I popped down to Dublin to work as a bartender for a while before realising I probably should go to college and see what they have to offer.
And I chose to do that in America... because why the fuck not? So I did all of the college stuff at NYU as best as I could, graduating with some decent grades and some mediocre grades… before I started running around the states on what seemed like the neverending road trip.
Except all of that ends tomorrow.
I *might* have accidentally overstayed my visa, so have *technically* been illegal here the last year, ever since college ended and my student visa expired. Either way, I’m turning myself in tomorrow at the Embassy of Ireland in D.C. at 0900 hours (*salute*), but... before then, I’ve decided to attend a festival and go balls to the walls one last time on this side of the pond. Have my last dance here, yanno?
