The planet Nauth, comprised of the known continents Sitehael, Ahi and the 'Faded Land'. It is attested that in ancient times, there was only one continent and it was the result of war that it was divided. Monsters are said to have originated from the Faded Land, having mutated from their original forms.

Sitehael is the home of cultural diversity in Nauth, and also the seat of unbridled power for the wealthy. Its natives were conquered by colonists from Ahi long ago. The headquarters of the AS (Amalgamated Sovereigns, an intergovernmental 'peacekeeping' body) sits in the Silver Federation, arguably Sitehael's most powerful nation.

Monsters are a constant threat, as many are agents of The Taint, a sickness that is believed to be the underlying cause of disease in Nauth as well as the source of decay of its ecosystems. Some posit the belief that mankind themselves manage the behavior of monsters. Nonetheless, there are individuals who dedicate their lives to fighting the threats of men & monsters alike. Such is the pair of X and V, famous bounty hunters known throughout all of Sitehael. After an unintended exploit that left highly sensitive data concerning experimentation of human chimeras in their possession, they find themselves enwrapped in a path that steers to reveal the greatest secrets of Nauth's history and the destination of its future.

Biography: This is merely based a hearsay and rumors spread by those that have encountered X, but apparently X was born as a single-child to a family who didn't love him simply because he was born with red eyes. They believed he was some kind of fiend brought from the Taint. So he was neglected for most of his life, which turned to a life of crime and violence. Apparently, he was so good at it that people began to really think he was a demon, which is where he was recruited by TERACOR, a subsidiary company of Ethersteel. TERACOR's HOUND Unit, or Unit-00D, was comprised of all the available oddballs that were considered "Tainted." And thus were put to work killing monsters of all kinds. This was where X apparently earned his martial prowess, achieving Unit Leader status within his, supposed, ten-year tenure as a member of HOUND. However, the rumors are a bit spotty as to what happened with him after he "defected" from HOUND, but the fact stands that he came into contact with V and, really, the rest is history.
