    Default The Attack of 7-Y

For years, Sector 7-Y had been a peaceful group of cluttered planets, governed by a small, independent group of senators, all who claimed to always keep peace, not only within their sector, but with the sectors around them. They were small enough that no one paid any attention to them.

    Until recently.

Out of nowhere, Sector 7-Y attacked its neighboring sector, Sector 6-X, and left it crippled and in control of the now ever-growing government of 7-Y. 6-X manufactured the weapons for the Galaxy wide peace force, The Galactic Corps. Without those weapons, the GC (Galactic Corps) was without their supply, and was therefore weakened. With the GC out of the way, 7-Y went on to take two more sectors, Sectors 1-D and 4-F. In panic and shock, the GC recruited the civilians of the three remaining sectors, Sectors 4-T, 5-U, and 2-G. The citizens, scared by the sudden opposition of 7-Y, sent their own weapons and recruits to the home GC base on Solaris 3, in 2-G. Each recruit was inspected at the gate...

Ben stood in front of a GC security officer, being inspected. He turned, twisted, stretched, was tested for blindness or deafness of any kind, was tested physically, was tested mentally, and finally, he was tested for allergies. The officer, who did not even suppress the smallest of smiles during the whole process, wrote down some last-minute notes, and disappeared into a room marked 'Recruitment Commander, Randon Sandre'. He waited, paced a little, even. Honestly, he was nervous. He was an able fighter, but he just didn't want to leave. He was young, and death loomed over this situation prominently. He could die at war. and at 19, dying did not sound fun.

    But he had to come.

He knew that he needed to fight, because if he didn't, the 7-Y might take over everything. There were rumors of what they did to the people in 6-X, 1-D, and 4-F. Ben shuddered. In time, the officer came out again, holding a small data-pad, and a small box, about the size of Ben's fist. The officer marched over to Ben and stopped almost a foot from his face.

"Congratulations, Private. Welcome to the Galactic Corps."

    Ben smiled. "Thank you, sir."

The officer handed Ben the small box.

"Your ID, don't loose it, and a GC Issue Datacube, I expect you know how to use a Datacube?"

"Yes sir," Ben said, "I've been able to use one before, very handy."

"Good," the officer nodded, "Report to Building 7 for lodging, check your ID for your room assignment. Your Datacube will alert you for when you will be needed in the war room, in Building 2. The Mess Hall is in building 1. Your Datacube has directions. Good luck then."

    "Thank you, sir."

The officer nodded again. "NEXT!" he called to a line now forming at the door. Ben walked out of the office and into his new life.
