"Well... Can you try to feel what I'm feeling?" she asked. At the same time, she calmed her mind as much as she could. Being with David made that a lot easier. She pictured serene waterfalls, and quiet forests dripping with dew, and sunny mountain scapes with little lambs grazing on the rolling green hills.
David looked at her confused. It wasn't like he felt other people's emotions on command. But he tried. He focused a best he could until he suddenly felt calm. He blinked. He could tell that it wasn't him that felt calm but slowly he did. He felt relaxed and even his stressed posture relaxed as he slumped again his mother.

Maeva smiled a little, and just kept holding his hands. "That's it... You're doing great. You can lie down if you want."
He nodded and climbed back into bed but didn't let go of her hand. "Mommy? Will this always work?"

She nodded and laid down behind him, getting comfortable as well. "Of course I can. Are you feeling sleepy?"
