The little boy hesitated, but then cautiously limped over to Roger.
Once the boy was close enough, Roger concentrated and he picked up the boy and placed him in his lap. "See? I can hold you." He said with a grin.

The boy stared at him, shocked, and then started to bawl, burying his face in Roger's shirt as he hugged him. Maeva wiped her eyes, watching them.
As the boy started to cry, Roger hugged him close as best he could to comfort him. He just let the ghost boy cry. He didn't know how long he had been trapped here in the hospital but like any child, he needed someone to care for him.

The boy continued to cry for a long time before slowly calming down, little by little. Maeva wanted to help but she didn't know what to do, and she couldn't move because of the IVs attached to her arms. She just watched them, wondering what was in the boy's past, and what was in his future.
Once the boy calmed down, Roger ran his hand over his ghostly hair. "Feel better?" He asked softly. He knew that Maeva was worried. He smiled at her.

She didn't really smile back. The boy nodded slowly. "...I'm scared," he said softly, wiping his eyes. Maeva looked at him.
"...What happened to your leg?" she asked softly, her voice shaking. The boy started to cry again.
"...We got hit by a car," he murmured, sobbing.
Roger frowned as the boy started to cry again. "Hey. Hush... You're okay. You're safe now. Nothing will harm you."

"I want my mommy," he murmured. Maeva took a deep breath.
"Did your mommy survive the accident?" she asked softly. The boy shrugged his shoulders.
