Roger blinked and looked at David. "What do you mean?" He asked softly, a little worried.

David looked at him. "I've read that their... their trade, so to speak, affected their appearance in various ways."
Roger blinked again. "It only happens when I cast a spell..."

"Well they do that almost non-stop," he said, still looking at his eyes. "And it just goes away when you stop it? No lasting effects?"
Roger nodded. "Yeah. Ask Maeva. It goes away as soon as I end the spell." He stopped the spell by touching the mark on his arm and his eyes returned to normal, the black tendrils retreated back into his eyes. "See?"

David watched him, simultaneously intrigued and horrified. "There is a lasting effect," Maeva said from behind David, hugging herself. "Show him your arm, Roger."
Roger glanced at Maeva. He really didn't want to show David his arm. He bit his lip for a moment. Now he could really see just how scared Maeva was for him. With a sigh, he held out his arm to show the now three inky black spell circled that were on his arm, now covering his entire forearm. "It doesn't hurt." He said in an attempt to justify it.

David's eyes widened and he took Roger's arm so he could take a closer look. "Did you draw these yourself?"
"I drew them on my arm. Then after I used the spell it just.... Sort of stayed."

David frowned. "That's... odd." He rolled up his sleeve to inspect his own forearm.
