"I know." He murmured.
A little bit later, June, John, and the twins arrived at their house and June knocked on the door.

Maeva hurried to the door and opened it, giving them an apologetic smile. "I'm so sorry. Thank you so much for coming out here."
"It's okay. Anything to help. How is Roger feeling?" June said as the four of them stepped inside. David stayed near Roger where he has been standing. He didn't want to go too far away from him.

"Not good. I'm afraid he's getting worse." Milly was practically wrapped around her father's leg, watching the Hatfields closely.
John stroked her hair as he walked in. "Do you think he needs to go to the hospital?" He asked.
David's eyes widened. "Daddy! Are you going to go?"
"I might have to bud." David then clung onto Roger.
"No! I don't want you to go!"

Maeva bit her lips and stroked David's hair, trying to pry him off of Roger. "They will help him there, sweetheart. They'll make him feel better."
David held onto him even tighter. "But I want to be with Daddy!"

Maeva bit her lips, wondering if David could somehow feel that they needed him to be upset for their plan to work. "...I'm sorry baby, but you can't... You have to go to school with Harry and Milly. Their parents will bring you."
David started to cry at that idea. "But I don't want to go to school. I want to stay with mommy and daddy."
June frowned. "Perhaps John can take Roger to the hospital. Then you and I can take the kids to school, Maeva. With you with us, it might help David calm down a bit." She said softly to Maeva.

Maeva looked at June, and suddenly found herself fighting back real tears. She knew this was all make-believe, but June didn't. It had been a while since somebody outside of their little family had been this genuine and kind to them.
"...Thank you, June, I think that could help." She glanced at Roger, wondering if June would still take Harry to the dentist afterwards. Ideally, they needed both of them to take Roger to the hospital.
