[M] Plagued Encounters (Sparkz and NoviDome)

[Sparkz]

Roger gently squeezed her shoulder. "Yeah. We'll be on our way to you, okay?" David sighed. This was really the only choice that he had.
"Ok. I'll be right here at the phone. I won't move." He wiped away more of his tears.

[NoviDome]

"Good. We love you, David. See you in a bit," Maeva said, looking at her phone. She'd let David hang up, unless there was something else he wanted to say.

[Sparkz]

David didn't want to hang up but after several moments of silence, he did. He sat down next to the phone to wait. He hugged his knees to his chest. His parents would be here and everything would be okay. At least for now.

[NoviDome]

Maeva looked at Roger and hugged him tightly, trying not to cry.

[Sparkz]

Roger hugged her tightly. "It'll be okay. Come on. We shouldn't let him wait for too long. He's already in the next town."

She nodded, and when she pulled away her eyes looked absent again. She was keeping tabs on David, Jimmy, and now also Jimmy's parents to make sure they weren't anywhere in the neighbourhood. She didn't want them to see them leave. "I'll grab my shoes," she murmured and went to the front door.

[Sparkz]

Roger nodded and kissed her forehead. He grabbed his final design for Jimmy's mark as well as some food and bottled water for the boys. Once everything was in a grocery bag, he got his shoes on and carefully led Maeva to the car so she could keep an eye on everything. "Just hang tight, Maeva. I'll try to get us there as safely and quickly as possible."

She nodded, carrying her bag in which she'd collected some of David's favourite snacks and things. She let him lead her and got into the car,

He started driving. He knew what town they were in and once they got closer, he let Maeva guide him. He held her hand to try and comfort her and himself.

Once they arrived, Roger parked the car and got out. He waited for Maeva to get out before heading to the payphone. David was sitting against the wall, making himself look as small as possible. He looked up when he saw his parents and slowly, but painfully stood up.
