Maeva smiled a little and stroked his hair. "Daddy won't be alone. I'll take care of him."

Maeva glanced at Roger and bit her lips. "Maybe we can be a little late today. Or we can ask Harry and Milly's parents to come pick you up."
Roger groaned as he held his stomach. "I wouldn't want to bother them." David frowned even more when his daddy groaned in pain.
"Then I have to stay with you daddy."
"No buddy... You have to go to school. I'll be fine."

Maeva nodded. "I'll call them, and then I'll call a doctor. You're clearly in pain."
Roger groaned. "Fine... Just do it." He leaned forward again, as if he had another major cramp in his abdomen. David looked at his parents worried.

June picked up the phone. "Hello? This is June speaking."

"Good morning, June, this is Maeva," she said, standing up and laying a hand on Roger's shoulder. "Sorry to be calling so early. Roger's not feeling well and I'm afraid to leave him alone, is there any chance you guys would be willing to pick up David and bring him to school with Harry and Milly? I hate to ask, I know we're quite far out of your way but we're really in a pinch."
