[M] Plagued Encounters (Sparkz and NoviDome)

David only just barely glanced back at his mother. "Yes! Yes! I can't wait to meet some friends! I can have play dates right? Like I read about and see on TV?"

Maeva smiled and nodded. "Yes. Sure you can."

[Sparkz]

David grinned even wider if that was even possible. "Good! I have to make a lot of friends!"

"You don't have to, remember? You get to. As long as it's fun."

[Sparkz]

David nodded eagerly. He sat back a bit as Roger pulled up the the front doors. A teacher's aid stepped up and opened the car door.
"Hi, little guy, what's your name?"
"I'm David! Let's go! I'm ready!" The lady chuckled.
"I'm Eve. You'll be able to go. But I have to unbuckle you." David continued to bounce and as soon as he was unbuckled, he grabbed his back pack and hopped out of the car.
"Bye Mommy! Bye Daddy! I love you!" And with that, he started to run out ahead but Eve grabbed his hand and gentle made him slow down so he could safely walk up the steps.

Maeva watched Eve closely. She seemed friendly enough, and she knew she had no reason to distrust her. But she'd never let a stranger touch her son before, so when Eva grabbed his hand she had to fight herself not to rush out of the car and go after him.

Roger squeezed her hand. "It's okay. She works for the school. I'm sure she's okay." He kissed her hand as he watched David walk up and disappear into the school. He then slowly drove away. "Okay... You know, I was okay with this whole school thing... But it's scary now that he's not in sight."

Maeva shook her head quickly and held his hand tightly. "...I'm not okay with it," she said with a small voice, fighting back tears.

[Sparkz]

He kissed her fingers gently. "Yeah... I feel the same way. I want to rush right in there and take him back home."

"Can we just... pull over for a minute?" she asked softly. "I need some air."
