    Default Recruiting: The Resistance [OOC]

    The Resistance

    The Plot/Background

The idea began with a clever scientist in Brittania, a powerful country encompassing all of Europe, who, in the beginning of his career, aspired to create powerful soldiers that could outmatch those of Brittania’s rival nations. It was a good idea at first, however, this idea became too inhumane for Britannia's citizens, and it was disbanded. Dissatisfied, the scientist and few of his collegues took their research and fled to Rodel, a neighboring, rival country, one much smaller than Brittania. There this scientist continued his work, only there were no volunteers to become his super-soldiers. He needed human test subjects. Where would he find people to test this theory on, and would this theory even prevail? Would it work?

A few months later, children started going missing in the small, poor border towns of Brittania. The number of children that "ran away" or "went missing" grew, day by day, week by week, skyrocketing into the thousands within just a year. These children weren't necessarily troubled and running from problems. They were taken. The Head Scientist, as he became known, was building an army.

These kids were tested on and transfused with the genes of different animals. Some died, some got really sick, and some went crazy. Finally... One child, a young girl, was a success. She became strong and powerful, the perfect example of a super soldier, everything the Head Scientist wanted. One they had one success, the thousands of children were each turned, one by one, and the rate of success grew and grew. They started to build an army and train these kids to fight. The Head Scientist at the base in Rodel called them Chimeras, half human, half animal.

The government of Britannia got word of these disappearances, then of the testing, and eventually, war broke loose between Rodel and Britannia. The only problem was that the Britannian army ended up fighting (and ultimately killing in some cases) the kids they were trying to rescue.

Coming to the present, the year 3024, fifteen years after kids started being stolen, the two armies are still fighting and kids are still being taken from the border towns. Some of these kids became cold blooded killers, insane. Some are scared and want out. Some escaped. However, even escaping doesn't truly mean freedom, not for the chimera kids. The Brittanian army hunts these children down, wanting them for questioning and seeing them as threats. Everywhere is dangerous, especially for these loose children, some now turned adults. Who can stop this situation? What if a different force rose? What if you could help? What are you going to do about it? What if you could resist?

If you would like to sign up or are interested in joining, feel free to post! I'll put a little character creator here to help you out, and I'll post my character for this too. This is actually a novel that I'm working on! This will be a very literate RP. I'd like at least full paragraph posts so we can move the story along well and build up the world. Feel free to add suggestions/advice.

My character (for now, I'll add more later):

    Name: Adam Heidrich

    Age: 19

Description (Personality and looks): Adam is average height, and could be described as 'stocky'. He is well muscled from being in the Rodel army for over 10 years. He moves with a purpose, and can be very exciteable. With boundless energy, Adam is constantly on the go, and gets restless if standing still for too long. His strength is his brawn, not his brains, as he was hardly educated before he was taken. He can't even read. However, Adam is very agreeable, friendly, kind, and is a fiercely loyal friend. He has dark brown hair, cut himself with a knife to about two inches in length, enough to keep out of his eyes. His eyes are so light blue that he almost seems like he's constantly squinting at any light shone at him. He has a dotting of freckles on his nose, and a well-developed tan from being outside. On his forearm is a jagged, puffy scar from where he cut out his own tracker chip in a very risky (some would call stupid) move. He almost constantly smiles, hiding any hurt behind positivity and humor.

Chimera form (What animal DNA do you have): German Shepherd

History: Adam was born in Berlin, the Capital of Brittania. His father, a General in the Brittanian army, moved his young family to a border town near a Brittanian base near Poland when Adam was a few months old. About a year later, his younger brother Aaron was born. The two boys had an easy, loved life, living in a large home in the forest, far away from any neighbors. They were well-loved, and nearly spoiled, getting anything they wanted from their doting parents. When Adam was seven and Aaron six, Rodel soldiers stormed into their home to assassinate their father. They succeeded, killing both parents, and taking the brothers to the prison to begin their new life as Rodel soldiers. Adam and Aaron were separated, and Adam assumes that his brother has since passed.

Adam keeps his life in the prisons in the back of his mind, always. He had friends, he lost friends, and eventually he decided enough was enough. He had to escape. He escaped with two others, lost one in the process, and separated from his friend a few months later to try to find his childhood home. He succeeded, finding the home exactly as it had been when he'd left it: a crime scene. He has spent the last few months clearing out the dust, covering up the bloodstains, and trying to move on.

Other: As a dog, Adam LOVES bacon.

    Hello!

I think i could have some interest in this! Just curious if you wanted the players to maintain a certain Animal species like Mammals or is anything on the table?

Anything is on the table! I think I'd advise to stick to something that may be useful in a battle (like, maybe no rabbits/mice/generallyfluffythings?) However, I do have a deer character planned that is a medic (his use of speed and agility is incredibly necessary being a medic!) so as long as you can justify why the scientist might merge DNA with that animal, it's all on the table!!

    Name: Elizabeth (Lizzy) Anne Gordon
    Age: 17
Description (Personality and looks): Lizzy has slanted gray eyes that are like two silver coins. Her body is short, making her seem child-like despite being a teenager.

She is covered with feathers - gray feathers cover her head with a double crest, fading into slate black where her neck meets her shoulders, extending out to her wings and down her back. Her chest is white, with her deformed short legs white with black stripes. Stripes on her tail feathers are gray on top, white underneath.

Lizzy's face is still human, but her eyebrows are tiny gray feathers. Her wings are four meters across, with elongated hands at the ends. Her feet have become bird like, yellow with long talons.

She's become very reserved, well aware she's become freakish. Lizzy hears what they call her, the ice raven, who'd they kept locked up because if she escaped, she'd sneak into their rooms to eat them. That they bag her head so she won't bite them with her beak. They whisper that they feed her the children that die. She's not sure they're wrong about that last one.

Chimera form (What animal DNA do you have): Harpy Eagle (Harpia harpyja)

History: Lizzy was playing her secret special game with Uncle Charlie, telling him about the other children she met in the park, when her mommy came home and caught them. Lizzy was ordered to go to bed, then her mother began screaming at Uncle Charlie. There was a wet smack, and the screaming just suddenly stopped. Minutes later, Uncle Charlie came in and told Lizzy to come with him. When she asked about Mommy, she was told she was sleeping.

After a long walk, they arrived at a warehouse, where Uncle Charlie sat her on an office chair while he went into an office to talk to the man inside. She'd just about fallen asleep when he came out, stuffing a wad of bills in his pocket and said she would be staying with his friend for a few days.

She was tossed in a room with other boys and girls, some of whom were crying. There were a few she recognized from the park. That night, they gave each child a cup of warm milk that tasted funny and made her sleepy. She remembered being picked up by someone and asking them where her mommy was, and the man told her to go to sleep.

She woke up in a long room with many beds with white sheets and blankets. Someone had written a number on her inside wrist that wouldn't wash off, no matter how much she tried. Every day they would take her to a room to be examined. Some days they would give her injections that would give her a fever for a day or two.

Lizzy hated the shots because she could feel her bones growing afterward, especially her arms. All her hair fell out, her skin got bumpy and then feathers began to grow. Her feet turned yellow, her toes growing longer and the nails long and curved.

They put her in a room away from the other children, inside a large cage that was cold and drafty, with straw to lie down on. Meals were raw meat, sometimes small animals. Every day they made her practice flapping her arms, and became happy when she was able to float for a few moments.

Sometimes they would put a bag over her head and she'd walk past rooms with playing children, but they wouldn't let her go in. They would put her in a harness with a long cable, and let her fly in a circle. One day the cable snapped, and she could fly straight. She tried to get away, but the cable snagged on a tree and she fell to the ground, breaking her left wing. While it healed, they were very careful and used heavier cables on her harness after that.

Other: Subject selected due to their young age and small stature for the Eagle project. Subject had a difficult but one of the few successful transitions, becoming more bird than human. Intended for scouting and covert weapon delivery.

    Character Creator:

    Name: Demi Osgood

    Age:18

    Description:

Personality: Demi is a quiet guy who keeps to himself. He like to observe how social interactions take place and like to see the differences in people’s approach to things. He keeps to himself because of his shy nature and lack of friends and acquaintances, but once you befriend him, you have a friend for life. He is also very intelligent for his age and finds a book more interesting than a social. He believes that you can never have too much knowledge and, in the end, it will be your best friend.

Looks: Demi is about 6 feet tall and has a very average build. He isn’t very muscular but he had a little definition to his body. He has short black hair that lies just about his brow and that is easily manageable. As being part of the chimera project, different parts of his body resembles his chimera form. As part of his “fusion” he developed heterochromia, which leaves one eye a golden yellow, while his other eye is an emerald green. His canine teeth enlarged and narrowed resembling more of a fang like structure and his left hand has developed glistening black scales.

    Chimera form: Snake (Black Mamba)

History: Demi was born right outside of Berlin, in a smaller city known as Dresden. His mother and father were well known chemist for their work on killing off a very dangerous airborne pathogen. They decided to buy their spacious home in Dresden where they would raise Demi and their three other children. Growing up was hard for Demi as he was the youngest child of the family. His older brothers (Thomas, Alexi, and Salem) would always bully and torment Demi because he wasn’t like them. They were always outgoing, athletic, and full of energy while Demi was more reserved and kept to himself more.

That all changed by the time Demi’s 10th birthday rolled around. There had been an “apparent” chemical outbreak at the lab his parents worked at and his parents ended up perishing from the outbreak. At that time a few strange men in uniforms came to Demi’s door and relocated him and his three brothers to new homes, but they all ended up being separated by the Brittania government. Daye, months, even years would go by and Demi would hear nothing from his brothers or from the government about their status. During all those years, Demi was the main subject of a cruel experiment that changed his genetic makeup. Hours of dawning session of gene therapy was making Demi more “snake like”.

Other: Demi knows advanced hand to hand combat and is very nimble.
