"I don't think we have enough wooden doors." Rogers muttered to the Colonel with a smirk. The Lieutenant's eyes scanning the water. Stanley ran through everything he could recall about the ancients from his time at SGC. They usually had some kind of redundant systems in place.

"What about the chair?" Rogers asked himself out loud, turning to Kramer. "There was one in Antarctica; Should be one here."

He shifted his rifle, slightly while it hung from his harness. "If we haven't already found it, it should be simple to redirect our scouts. And to direct anyone standing around doing nothing to locating it."

The Colonel watched out the window at the ocean floor as the transmission from Dr. West came in through the radio. After a moment of thought, he activated his radio to speak; "All recon teams, hold positions and await further orders." Then he switched his radio to the private channel. "Doctor West, I may not be the smartest person here, but I do know that a light left on overnight takes more power than an off one." For a moment he thought about his analogy, then explained, "What I'm saying is, we're probably draining the power with everything we're turning on."

He thought for another moment when Sgt. Dominick spoke up, asking about returning to the main base. The Colonel nodded. "Go ahead, Sergeant." Then Lieutenant Rogers asked about the chair. It was a possibility, but would they even have enough time to find it? "If we've already found it, it won't hurt to get someone on it, otherwise it might not be the most important thing right now." The Colonel was less concerned about the city, as he was the expedition members' safety. He turned his attention back to the radio. "Doctor, we may have to consider relocating to another planet." He paused for a moment. "Or, at the very least, we should send a team out in search of a power source while we figure things out here." His number one priority was to ensure the safety of the expedition, even if that meant leaving the city they searched so long for.

"Thank you sir." she said before heading off. she didn't really catch anything else. She soon reached base camp and looked around for a private area to do counseling and therapy. after doing this, she enlisted the help of others to move some of her equipment, asking people that weren't doing anything important "could I get some help moving some things?"

doing this, she got some help and had her area set up in a little bit. and, just for kicks, she put up a little sign that read 'Sgt. Liana Dominick's Counseling and Therapy.'
She smiled a little bit at that and started to look for anyone that seemed stressed, trying to get them to her area and talk.

Default Panic In The Ocean House

Marsh crossed quickly to the woman scientist and place her hands on the console atop which sat the woman's laptop. "Look at me, Cynthia." Too-wide amber eyes met her own as she looked up from the scientist's nametag. "Keep it together. Do you have access to the city schematics?" A shaky nod. "We need to know where the control chair is. Can you find that for us?" Another nod and trembling hands flashed across the keyboard, becoming steadier by the second as Cynthia found something to do. A chime brought eyes to the holo display behind the control room as it resolved into the shape of a snowflake-like structure. "This is the city as seen from above." said Cynthia in an unsteady voice. "We are in the central tower smack in the middle of it." A green light pulsed at the heart of the craft. "The control room is in the easternmost tower in the inner city." The display changed, shifting to a side view with towers rising into being until the green dot was suspended in the upper part of the center tower and a red light blinked in a tower to its right.

"Damn, how are we going to get over there?" murmured Marsh. West turned to Cynthia. "Is there any way to get over there quickly? I don't see the Ancients jogging all over the city." The woman nodded in an almost absent-minded way, her eyes on the screen in front of her. "There are teleportation nodes around the city that seem to be for fixed point to point movement, but I can't say for sure if they are working. The city has diverted power from them to the shields. I might be able to get you close though, through these two." A pair of flashing yellow icons, one in each tower appeared. West noted that while the one in the central tower was only a level or two down, the one in the eastern tower was several floors down. Seeming to notice the unanswered question, Cynthia added. "These are the ones I am most sure are working."

Tapping her comms, West said, "You hear that, colonel? I hope you are up for a bit of a walk. Get a team together and.." "I wouldn't recommend that, ma'am." cut in the other scientist. "Hold one, colonel." West turned to the man who she now remembered was head technician Leandros. A thankless task, under the circumstances. "We only have so much power." West crossed to his console. "How much power do we have? I thought you said we can dial out." He looked up, a look between fear and exasperation in his turquoise eyes. "Yes, but the Stargate on the other end helps to anchor the connection, so it isn't as taxing, and we still have leftover power from the trip here stored in the gate buffers." His eyes cleared as the shock of their predicament melted away. "We have no idea how much power is left because the power is fluctuating as we switch off things the city is trying to boot up. I don't even want to think what would happen if we tried to teleport someone without the needed power."

Suddenly he turned to one of the other open laptops and crossed to it, curing a moment later. Keying his comm, he said "Biggins! What's holding up with those Naquadah generators? We needed them an hour ago!" Any hope that flared across the faces of the scientists in the room flickered out as the reply came. "We're having trouble connecting them! The schematics don't show that the connection points in the city tower are completely fucked! We've already checked the two we found in the tower and they are good as melted plastic. We need to find new ones."

"Can the Naquadah generators keep the shield up?" asked West. "Not a chance." replied another technician. Edward, she recalled as he took a breath and corrected himself as he settled in behind Leandros' laptop. "They could hold off the problem temporarily at best, but they are better than nothing." Marsh looked at Cynthia. "Tell me you have other options." The woman frowned at her computer. "Yes, but not great ones. The main power room is only six or so levels down from here. They might be able to hook up there, but that won't solve the main problem." She fell silent, her eyes seeming to glaze over until West prodded, "And those problems are?" The woman looked at the director, though West got the impression that she was looking at something behind her. "I am reading power fluctuations below the power room. I'm guessing there may be some damage to the infrastructure and it's causing bleed on the system. Right now the biggest drain is the ten shield emitters scattered throughout the city, but they are drawing power from the main power room. That is why the bleed is so bad."

"So we shut down some of the emitters or patch them up to stop the bleeding." said Marsh conclusively, as if that would solve the problem. A moment passed as if Cynthia did not hear, but then she bit her lower lip and said, "Possibly, but not from here; the system doesn't give me anywhere near that kind of access." She turned back to her laptop. West shared a worried look with Marsh and turned to Leandros, who she noticed was watching Cynthia as well. Meeting her eyes, he said, "I won't be able to say if we can fix it until I see it for myself. Hopefully we can. I can't begin to imagine what would happen if we had to shut down the emitters; we've never handled a shield grid this big before." With another glance at the woman scientist he rushed over to his laptop and began packing his materials. "Edwards, keep an eye on things here. I'll join Biggins and head down there." He looked back at West. "Unless you have a better idea."

West shook her head, knowing full well that she was out of her depth. As Leandros hurried from the control room, she keyed her comm. "Colonel, you get all that? Do you want to try the teleporters? It's your call. We need to get those generators into position in the power room and as close to the emitters as possible, but ultimately we need to get those docking clamps opened. Get an escort detail to Leandros and get some people up here as well." She looked at the junior technician. "We're going to hedge our bets and send non-essential personnel off-world. No sense in keeping people locked up here. I want a team to lead people out."

Colonel Kramer sounded off in his comms, ordering a squad to escort the scientist Leandros, and another to join Doctor West, then he had a large group of his men head to the gateroom to assist in getting people off-world. Then he contemplated his options for a moment. Either they went to find the command chair, or they would have to hope they could save the city without it.

After his brief moment of contemplation, the colonel decided that finding the chair would be worth the risk. But since he didn't have the ATA gene himself, he would need someone to go with him. Then he recalled that Lieutenant Rogers was among the few that had it. "Rogers," he addressed the man. "If I'm gonna go find that command chair, I'll need someone that can actually use it. But since we don't know if the teleporters will work correctly, this could possibly be a one-way trip. Are you with me?" Not even knowing if getting to the command chair would be possible, he didn't want to order anyone to make the trip when there were safer alternatives.
