Anna looked at Ian and said, "Let's just.....Continue on what we were doing..." She had no idea what else to say.
Anna looked at Ian and said, "Let's just.....Continue on what we were doing..." She had no idea what else to say.
Ian looked at her and bit his lips. He couldn't leave her like this. She looked awful, and lost. He was compelled to stay and help her by the same kindness that had made him help Anna at first. Now he felt more than kindness towards her, but he wouldn't say that out loud. He sighed and looked back at Sarah.
"...Get back in the car. At least let me drive you home."
Anna sighed. Sometimes she was happy when he didn't listen. She felt so bad for saying just to go. "Yeah....Sarah get in the car..."
Sarah wiped her tears and did as they said.
Anna had no idea what was going to happen. She usually wasn't like this, normally she would help the people in need or upset. She just couldn't deal with this right now. She turned to Sarah not really knowing what to say.

Sarah returned her look, and then just sighed and looked out the window. Ian checked her in his rearview mirror before starting the car and pulling out of the parking spot.
"Where do you live, Sarah?"
"On Fifth and Main. Just a couple blocks." Ian nodded and drove in that general direction.
"Will you be okay?"
"I... I don't know."
"What's going through your mind right now?"
"Just... I can't believe this whole story."
"You saw it with your own eyes, didn't you?"
"I... I think I did. But I might be remembering wrong."
"You're not. Listen, we... we'd have no reason to lie to you about this."
"I know, that... that's what bothers me. It all makes sense, but I don't want it to."
She wanted to leave the care and break something. There had to be something they could do. Sarah needed to chill and actually believe them. Sarah needed to think of other things and keep her mind off of things and she needed to forget about Melody. Melody was a goner. Anna was so stressed at Sarah.
Ian glanced at Anna, saw how tense she was, and quietly took her hand. Sarah looked at him.
"So... Are they all part of that organisation?"
"I don't think so," Ian said softly. "That guy I spoke to at the bar... I think he's an enemy to them."
"And he's the one that..." she shivered. "...changed Melody."
"I think so."
Anna felt Ian's hand and held it tightly. "How much farther?" She felt like she was burning and had no idea what to do.
"It's just down here," Sarah said softly, pointing to a house a little way down the street. Ian nodded and pulled into a parking spot. He looked at Sarah.
"Get some rest, okay?" Sarah nodded and got out of the car.
