My One on One Search Begins!

Welcome to any wayward soul who enters here! It is my humble honor to welcome you to my quest to find a dedicated roleplay partner who is willing to delve into the lives of fictional characters not yet born.

Okay, horrible prose aside- My search for roleplaying partners has begun! I've years of experience in roleplaying, but new to RPA and still finding my way around the group rps and excited that I'm finally able to foray into private ones.

As for what I'm looking for in a partner:

I'm not fussy. I just ask for decent grammar and responses that add something to the story and someone who will post at least once every few days or will let me know if they're signing off for a bit.

Some things about me:

I prefer to write in third person, past tense; anything else seems awkward to me.

I'm up for nearly any genre (the biggest exceptions being slice of life and fanfiction- never been very good at it). If you're itching to play a specific genre, ask me- chances are I'll be itching to play it, too.

I prefer playing male characters, and if romance is involved, I prefer MxM pairings, but I'm not adverse to playing female characters or having any mix of pairings.

I do tend to gravitate towards darker plots with a bit of violence and gore- what would here be rated M- but it's not necessary to include. I do ask that, if you have a limit or any hard no's or simply wouldn't like it at all, to explicitly state so from the get-go so that I know where to draw that line. I don't like accidentally stepping over it and going too far with a partner.

Open communication is key- throughout the entire process, no partner should be afraid to reach out to the other, whether it's to clear up something that's confusing, to plan the next plot point, to say 'wait up, don't just stab my character to death, please', or- especially- to say if a post has gone too far (see last paragraph) and I need to edit it and tone down on the gore. So, please, as a potential partner of mine, speak your mind: if you don't like something, just tell me. I won't be offended. Promise :-)

Now, onto the fun part!

Spoiler: Plot Bunnies/Interests 

•A genetically modified human/some type of animal hybrid that recently escaped the compound in which they have been experimented on in a futuristic Earth or off-Earth human colony (I am not adverse to non-human characters, such as aliens, to be included).
•Intergalactic war/war between two factions of humans in space (depending on whether or not aliens are a thing)
•An immortal character; I have several versions of this, one from the beginning of humanity, called Necnean (a description can be found in OCs, under the spoiler of his name, in my signature), one from ancient Egypt, and one set in an alternate world, somewhat in the future. Each one has their own specific abilities, but they each became immortal in a similar way. If you are interested in this one, PM me and I'll give more details about each specific character, or one you are more interested in. For the first two, the setting could be any time, any place, and the last would need to be modern or in the future, but any place.
•A prince who is kidnapped and made a slave, then his master forces him to train as an assassin.
•A boy from a wealthy family who is kidnapped by pirates (this can either occur in 1800's Europe or set in the future, in space)
•A personification of death (kind of like a grim reaper): One example of this is my god Zeph (check him and the rest of the gods in his world in OCs: The Gods, under the spoiler The Generation of Progress in my signature).
•A shapeshifter (he can be placed in any place or time): An example, and likely the one I would use, is Alaric; check him out in OCs, under the spoiler labeled with his name, in my signature.
•A priest or monk, possibly with magical abilities
•An elf- specifically my character Ilwen (found under the spoiler labeled with his name in my OCs, in my signature), but I have other ideas up my sleeve, as well.
•A mermaid/merman
•A djinn

Spoiler: More Developed Plots 

Spoiler: The Slave Wars (Sci-Fi) 

Two thousand years in the future, humans have expanded into space. There are colonies on moons and "dead" worlds that don't have any living things on them until the humans settle (these are usually mining colonies), and entire societies living in space stations. But, humans being humans, they want more. They go further, and make contact with species that aren't their own, they begin to immigrate to planets that have existing populations and societies, they begin to trade. Things are awesome. Until, of course, the human government collapses when Earth becomes completely uninhabitable and there's a mass exodus as people scramble to find a place to live before it becomes completely impossible for anyone to be there. Of course, this leads to a population problem in the colonies and space stations, so humans explore farther. They try to find a planet to settle and call their own. But they can't; all habitable planets are inhabited already. So, after finding a planet that they like, that's very close to the conditions on Earth but without all those pesky natural disasters, they make contact with the current inhabitants, asking for permission to settle there. Fearing that the humans will kill their planet as they did their own, the inhabitants refuse. So, humans being humans, they invade. They invade this planet and forcibly take it from the inhabitants, to the horror of every other species out there. When they win their war, they enslave what was left of the original inhabitants- a practice unheard of by the rest of the galaxy until the humans came along- putting them to work in very lucrative mines and on plantations and in other rather dangerous situations. Some humans bring them off world to work in the original mining colonies on the "dead" worlds and moons, or to be companions as they move to space stations. As time passes (and I mean centuries, here), the galaxy gets used to this enslavement, and this particular race of aliens becomes a commodity to the rest, and the slave trade flourishes throughout the galaxy. That is, until the enslaved aliens (none of whom ever remember being free at this point, as the first of the slaves are now long dead) decide to revolt. They don't really care about taking their planet back; their entire lives, for generations, it's belonged to the humans. They just want their freedom. The revolt turns into an all-out war, with humans and aliens who have profited from the slave-trade fighting to keep their slaves, and humans and aliens who see it to be the horror it is and the slaves who started it all fighting for their freedom. The more radical of this second group think it's necessary to kick humans off of the world they stole and give it back to the slaves, while the majority think that it's not the current humans' fault that they were born on that planet and think they should be allowed to stay and live and flourish there, just without the slavery. This is where our story begins. My character is Lt. Mercury Flint

Spoiler: The Death Mage (Fantasy) 

A death mage, called Egren, who lives in a society in which death mages are extinct (at least until MC comes around). In this world, there is a hierarchy based on magical ability: there are several categories of mages, which I will get into more detail with should you want to know more, and magical strength varies from person to person, those who do not have any magical ability are outcast, and usually find themselves as homeless (careers are based on the magical ability someone possesses). Abilities present themselves when a child reaches maturity (their 13th birthday), a celebrated moment in everyone's lives: call it a rite of passage. It is not known what a child's abilities will be until their maturity and it is at this time that the rest of their lives are determined: during a ceremony for their coming of age, their abilities manifest, a priest blesses them and determines what their ability is and how powerful they are, and they're apprenticed to someone with the same abilities. Men and women are equal in this society, with equal opportunities, as long as their abilities are up to snuff. MC is powerful, but for most of his childhood was unable to control his abilities and there were... accidents. Now, he's managed to get them under control with the help of music: it's what calms him and channels the energy that used to explode when his emotions ran high. He could use that energy, if he chose to, but he hasn't used his ability in years; instead, he lets it dissipate safely through his lute. He lives as a traveling troubadour, playing the lute and singing in taverns across the country, earning pennies in tips and perhaps a warm place to sleep and a plate of food, pretending that he was born without abilities, preferring being on the bottom of the metaphorical barrel, rather than face the fear and shunning that came from the people that lived in his small town. YC changes that. How is up to you.

Do not think that I am limited to what I've written here, though. I am willing to do almost any genre and plot. These are just the ones that I can think of and want to use at the moment.
