I'm a graduate student (29 years old) set to start a second master's degree in Space Studies this Fall. Over the past four years, I've started and completed three other degrees in business, natural science, and liberal arts. (If you want more on that, I'd be happy to be a talking head on that front!) While I'm waiting for the next chapter of my life to begin late next month, I have quite a lot of spare time on my hands to get something set up for the long term with any potential partners here. These days, I'm just trying to keep the gravy train rolling while staying sane (ish). In a sense, RPA was once a second home for me, and I'm happy to be back again.
I've also been around the block once or twice, having lived overseas for a total of about two and a half years. I speak some Japanese (but can barely write to save my life) as a result of these travels, as well as some Spanish from when I grew up out in the middle of nowhere in Texas. I can also read French, but ironically I can't speak it to save my life. I loved every second of my time overseas, and I really do enjoy learning about (and writing about) cultures other than the increasingly stale American one that I've grown up with. Before that, I was in the Navy from 2012-16, so I can write some stuff for military settings, if the plot calls for it.
That said, I've gotten to know myself and the world around me much better through writing over the years. I credit it for my best accomplishments so far, because it's helped me apply this awesome hobby to my hardest endeavors in life. However, creative writing hasn't been something I've had enough time or energy for until recently, thanks to a too-busy lifestyle (thanks, Obama). But, I'm back and better than ever, and I do sincerely hope that my creative skills have evolved alongside my academic writing over the years. Even if not, this is an excellent opportunity to grow and get to know myself and my characters much better over the coming months (and years), and I look forward to building that experience with my partners here.
